यह चिराग कैसा चिराग है जो रौशनी के ख़िलाफ़ है
यह जला दिया वह बुझा दिया यह तो काम है किसी और का,

जिसे चाहो उसे बुरा कहो, यह तो दोस्ती के ख़िलाफ़ है
वह जो धुप थी वह सिमट गयी वह जो चांदनी थी बिखर गयी
मगर एक जुगनू, हकील सा, अभी तीरगी के ख़िलाफ़ है
वह जो मेरे ग़म में शरीक़ था, जिसे मेरा ग़म भी अज़ीज़ था,
