Spark plug change Timelapse, Jaguar XJS V12

- No music, no speaking just me doing a spark plug change on my 1984 Jaguar XJS V12.
This was my Dads XJS he has owned it since 1994 and it used to be a concourse show winner but it had been off the road for 10 years before I got my hands on it!
I’m now reconditioning it and slowly bringing it back up to that high standard.
It has been running badly and I found that the inlet fuel pressure regulator had failed and fuel was going down the vacuum line into bank A.
So it needed new fuel pressure regulator’s and a fresh set of spark plugs. I decided to film it as it a notoriously difficult job on the XJS V12 as the spark plugs are right down in the V on the engine.
The hardest part of the job was the re-alignment of the ac compressor and that’s where the video ended and lots of swearing occurred. But I eventually got it all back together and it’s running sweetly now. As can be seen at the end of the video.

I just did this over the Winter on my '89 replacing the wires, rotors and cap while I was in there- what a hateful but fulfilling task
I agree! It’s very fulfilling task and the car runs great now! I oiled the advance mechanism the other week and cleaned all contact points and changed the ignition amplifier. I also changed the fuel regulators this time round!
What are the long term plans with the xjs ? I also have an Mgb (68roadster ) and an v12 xjs coupe. I will check you videos out 👍
Thank you! Long term I have just want to use it as much as possible! I have always wanted to a gear box change either the 6 speed auto or the cheaper option the manual but it’s all about expense! Thanks for watching check out my MGB restoration videos 👍🏻
@@HJRgarage I did a manual conversion on a v12 Xjs back in 2009, it was good, but very expensive now and the auto suits the car to be honest
