I've never been close to living a life like this, it's a whole different world to me. I think that's why i find it so fascinating. Even just the quiet is mesmerising.
You’re my new favorite channel man! I grew up in the woods in Texas and live in the city of Tampa now. I miss surviving and hunting and this brings me peace while in my office! I can’t wait to keep up now.
No my friend, we are on the Southern Hemisphere and we are heading to our summer, exactly opposite your weather pattern. You have a great day and best regards from Down Under, Tony.
im watching this late, but im so touched by how grounded you are. liking and replying your viewers. You are the best. i want to do what you do someday:)
Well, Bear Grylls just teached you ways to survive, he was never in danger and was eating with the cam crew Now, Les Stroud was another story He didn't even had a camera crew, I always liked Survivorman a lot more
You got to use the rake, cool. The chaff is always a problem. For long term, although I have not tried this exactly, the berries and chaff could be set out to dry in the sun on boards. The chaff will dry up easily and can be wind winnowed away for a cleaner product. Or just pick quickly and graze on berries at your leisure. Then there is all the other tips I listed on the other video, somewhere. Massive cat fish, biggest I've seen is around a foot, not many here. We get a similar fish to the fall fish and call them chubs, a trash fish, I should try one someday. Some rivers are loaded with them. More on the blueberries, I think I have mentioned this, a string trimmer will cut the bushes back to ground level, do this in the fall or early spring, fall is better, it will spur new fresh growth which will yield more fruit buds the following years. Are cat fish fatty?
The catfish are pretty fatty, very white and good meat. I did end up sifting through the berries, it was very fast and ideal for this since I could sort through by the campfire later. I'll have to try again when the berries are actually in season! Thanks again, I will keep it in use, for sure.
All those berries and I still haven’t seen a wild wine video! I think those choke cherries would be a lot easier to get down as a liquid. Great video, and that catfish is baby throw it back:)
This is a fantastic series gentlemen! I just found your channel recently and I respect the work and hardship that goes into making these videos. Other than the issues with the camera, I'd say you both had a pretty good turnout. I would also like to point out how you dispatch the fish, that definitely looks much more efficient that letting it flip around madly, never tried that myself. It's cool to see you trying out things alongside some of the old time-tested techniques. Thank you both for a great adventure, while also treating our outdoors with respect and not letting anything go to waste.
Watching Canadian channels I've learned one thing for sure - you people like strong season food for sure! Me and my wife live in our property in the wild in Brazil, and we love you videos mate! Keep it going!
YES YES YES........... About time I here someone say, predator ? What about them ? , We are Human we are the top predictors.. ( we skinned all that food right by our camp, worse case scenario, we would just bring in more food. ) You just got an upgrade from awesome to really freaking awesome. You got serious respect coming from me.
Cubancomanche 21 | "Giving Back to the Good Earth" I know someone on Kodiak. He said the bears there are not aggressive. Not like a grisly at least. He said very few casualties on record. I would not want to leave good around.
Audrey Chang no doubt at all...but these guys arnt saying try to fight a mature hungry bear with your bare hands...im certain they keep / do things to ensure their protection...if you want to go into the heart of grizzly country and clean your game out around the camp, you should understand the consiquences. anyhow, they didnt say to go out and just do something stupid.
You guys should try cow tongue, and cheek. You boil it just add salt and garlic and a piece of onions.. get some tortillas, make a green salsa its yummy
I think what I enjoy most is learning something new; each one of your videos provides that. You're awesome man, keep it up, and your family's awesome too! We can include Jeremy I guess. xD
you know , when y'all started this 2nd season , I was hoping y'all would eat better than you did last year. . then , as y'all started having better luck with the traps , and caught the beavers , , and then caught the groundhog ,, and then caught the nice rainbow , , I was very happy for you both :-) and then when Jer brought in the new camera , , , and a young bear , , , sheesh , , , I didn't know what to think. . was your location last year just so bad or what was it this year that made that much difference ?
Last year we followed the rules like good sportsman, sport fishers, hunters...this year we looked at things differently and used nuisance game laws, and trapped nuisance animals which are normally not in season at this time, so we opened up a bunch of doors. There are a lot of beaver, for example, but we aren't allowed to trap them just anywhere, so we trapped these on private property....otherwise, that wouldn't have been on the menu, same for the groundhog and hare. In August, hunting and trapping aren't open,....that's why last year we just fished and hoped for more wild edibles...that were also not in season.
Great video as usual! I was scrolling down the comments and I think it’s awesome that you respond and like post as often as you do. Great work definitely gets a 👍
Yeah, IF you want a big fire, or long fire. I tend to cut wood when I cook, cut, cook, let fire die, then I don't have to haul a tone of wood. It's has it's place though.
This right here ! shows you , the difference how you prepare and cook and a meal is all the difference in the outcome of how it taste! That fish looks oh so good 😊 👍🏾!
Crazy guy brushing his beard...lol you should have went and found some sticker bushes instead of a brush instead to make it more bushlike...lol and I heard you were cheating on the wilderness living challenge... eating your toothpaste...lolol
These videos are so awesome! I wish there were more people like you out there able to live off the land and you’re so respectful about it! Keep making videos and I’ll keep watchin’!
Blueberry Bonanza I was thinking it looked like a carp with those scales, but wasn't sure with that face, I've never seen many of these species in Northern Texas
Great catch gentlemen! That trout looked delicious. If that's coconut oil your rubbing on your beard, youshould eat that and rub fish fat on your beard. You'll get tougher, fish better not to mention how many critters you'd be able to lure into striking distance! lol Thank you once again. Oh yeah, you gotta fry a couple pieces of that catfish. I'd let you cheat that much.
New Sub!! So glad your videos are LOOOONG!!! I would say I wish you guys had a show on tv but don’t need one!! I’ve been watching you for hours!! “San Francisco CA girl who would rather live OFF the land then live IN the land!” Don’t stop teaching, enjoying, and loving what you do!!!
+Mad Munchie - No I haven't eaten one, although I believe they are eaten in Poland and maybe other Eastern European countries. Generally speaking we don't eat many freshwater fish here apart from trout, salmon and in some places perch, bream and pike. All the places I fish are run by fishing clubs and they stock the lakes - which means they have spent money on them, so they take a dim view of people taking the fish away (in fact its strictly forbidden). I caught a chub of 5lbs 5oz once out of a local river but I put it back after weighing and photographing it. Let somebody else have the pleasure of catching it! :) Oh yes... I also caught a rainbow trout from the same river which weighed over 8 lbs. It had escaped, along with many others, from a trout fishery during a flood. I ate that!

I need to "bone" up on my smoking meat skills. I also am getting a smaller tent. Too hard to stay warm in a big one.
The Wooded Beardsman Thanks for the like my first one 😄😄😄😄😄😄
“How do you protect yourself from bears and wolves?”
“We eat them.”
*wolf slowly backs away.*
LOL
When the predators get close and smell bear cooking, it's a smart predator that quietly walks away and lies.
One the one hand that's pretty metal, on the other hand that is literally how we escaped the food chain. Not sure if this is funny or wisdom
Damn...he hit me with that quick makeup tutorial XD
DBi beard ASMR too
I've never been close to living a life like this, it's a whole different world to me. I think that's why i find it so fascinating. Even just the quiet is mesmerising.
Try camping its delightful.
You’re my new favorite channel man! I grew up in the woods in Texas and live in the city of Tampa now. I miss surviving and hunting and this brings me peace while in my office! I can’t wait to keep up now.
Thanks man. Off to see Texas so stick around.
Worst case scenario we attracted more food, we eat that food too 😂😂
This channel is way too underrated, we need to show these boys some more love
Remember, pack only the essentials.
Better go get my beard cream then!
Ahahahahahahaha
One thing I've learned from this channel is that EVERYTHING in the wild taste like butter
Hahaha, when you keep the skin on!!!
Amen to that
And "rich" means hard to eat. 😄
I wonder if anyone has made a Meme about it yet...."Taste like butter"
"ooooo look, I can make it twitch" 😂 😂 great video!
Hi there,
Great video for this week once again, great cooking and many thanks for taking us with you, thumbs up and regards from New Zealand, Tony.

William Osteen ... Fishy beaver wax would be worse!
When I’m older I can’t wait to get together with some of my friends and do this! Thanks for the good content!
Totally do it!
Lost my mind laughing when the fish nearly slapped you in the face while you were making it twitch
Payback !
Down here in Wisconsin, these are just a dirty fish! They're carp! And only good use is baith unless you smoke them
Bruh you was gettin off that dead fish with some mad finger play, I like it.
Your campsite looks like a predator hunting ground
They all look similar.
Basicly what it was xD
"look i can make it twitch" LOL HAHAHAHA
So funny. Hope it really pisses the animal lovers off.
Is that a sub merkin reference?
Thats hectic, i wont be able to kill a domesticated pet, especially rabbits, they're so cute and fluffy
The best things in life are furry.
even the cooking pot looked like it could be from hills have eyes..
The best part of the vid was when he was grooming his beard : 3
and karma for messing with the fish. a slap to the face
"oh yes..the number one priority is always remember to bring a big comb into the wilderness for brushing your beard guys"..
ever have a tangled beard? shit hurts your face
It was just asmr
absolutely.
Hunting fishing camping and cooking is what my life is for and you guys do that so that is awesome. Keep up the awesome videos
Thanks Jeremy!
Good to see a chap taking his facial topiary seriously. Love your videos, learning a lot.

The stuff you guys do must put Bear Grylls to shame XD
I was actually just watching some bear grylls lol
Well, Bear Grylls just teached you ways to survive, he was never in danger and was eating with the cam crew
Now, Les Stroud was another story
He didn't even had a camera crew, I always liked Survivorman a lot more
Travis Fisher Bear Grylls catches fish with his hands not poles , don’t ever disrespect a legend 🤘🏼😂
At least these guys don't drink their own piss OR get bitten / stung by venomous wildlife
Survivorman was the best of the two
Who are those people that dislike this fantastic content?
Man I just love these videos I can't get enough of this...think I'm gonna spend my vacay this year walking the Appalachia Trail..
Have fun!

Currently:
* plays with dead fish to make it move *
Fish are okay, mammal no.
Great video as usual! I was scrolling down the comments and I think it’s awesome that you respond and like post as often as you do. Great work definitely gets a 👍
Thanks Kyle.
Every time I watch your catch and cooks it makes me hungry 😂 keep up the good work man!
Someone send this bearded man a solid beard comb.
In my military survival training one of the first thing taught was not to waste calories and energy cutting wood and to burn it in lengths.
Yeah, IF you want a big fire, or long fire. I tend to cut wood when I cook, cut, cook, let fire die, then I don't have to haul a tone of wood. It's has it's place though.
It’s called a yellow buffalo down here in Louisiana, ps I love your show
This right here ! shows you , the difference how you prepare and cook and a meal is all the difference in the outcome of how it taste! That fish looks oh so good 😊 👍🏾!
Loved that brushing scene 🤣
can u pls hurry up with the next episode? i could watch that all day :D
Only one more left! Weigh out next week...then you find out if we eat skunk!

Thanks Kiana!
I dont think ive ever seen anything more delicious looking that that. Thats awesome.
I could watch you groom your beard all day
was waiting for a quick dab after you finished brushing your beard......
:) That would have been funny!
Crazy guy brushing his beard...lol you should have went and found some sticker bushes instead of a brush instead to make it more bushlike...lol and I heard you were cheating on the wilderness living challenge... eating your toothpaste...lolol
Says Jeremy, the guy sleeping in LOL
These videos are so awesome! I wish there were more people like you out there able to live off the land and you’re so respectful about it! Keep making videos and I’ll keep watchin’!
I've been watching this guy for 2 weeks now and i can't remember how I found this channel but I'm glad I did.
That does indeed look to be a Fallfish, they are in the same family as Chubs and other minnows, as well as carp
Blueberry Bonanza I was thinking it looked like a carp with those scales, but wasn't sure with that face, I've never seen many of these species in Northern Texas
The beard part was un called for
Sommer Hargrove it was beautiful
man, yall are really insecure in your sexually if beards make you complain
You hold your tongue! That beard is fierce and deserves appreciation
Sommer Hargrove I disagree shameful libtard
Great catch gentlemen!
That trout looked delicious.
If that's coconut oil your rubbing on your beard, youshould eat that and rub fish fat on your beard. You'll get tougher, fish better not to mention how many critters you'd
be able to lure into striking distance! lol
Thank you once again.
Oh yeah, you gotta fry a couple pieces of that catfish. I'd let you cheat that much.
Step up for fish oil is bear fat LMAO!
New Sub!! So glad your videos are LOOOONG!!! I would say I wish you guys had a show on tv but don’t need one!! I’ve been watching you for hours!!
“San Francisco CA girl who would rather live OFF the land then live IN the land!”
Don’t stop teaching, enjoying, and loving what you do!!!
Thanks Tiffany!!!
This is pure survival living. When he speaks of the fish eye ball containing lots of nutrition you would need for survival.
Throw that bear head directly on the coals and I'd eat all the meat off it. Plus the tongue!!!
We did eat the tongue, it was great! Just forgot to film it :(
AWWW Stop it guys you making me hungry
I believe those big minnow fish are fallfish
Garrett Lauzon that is 1000% correct. Largest minnow species.
Yup, for sure. I looked it up and it's 100% a fall fish. Not bad eating for a fat minnow, but not as good as other fish.
Looks to me like what we in the UK call a chub.
I ate that!
Mad Munchie I've caught them before
Absolutely legendary, mate. You're awesome!
Best use for that Fallfish as a resource is to cut it into chunks and use it for catfish bait! Great video guys, always a pleasure to watch!
Yup, but it was edible! Worth trying. Fish in the hand kind of deal.
Tormund!!!
Here we go , you doing good job teaching white people eat eyes, brain all that good stuff !
And blood
Zhang XiaoYi and we teach yellow man wash butt in exchange
Never saw someone keep and eat a chub before...interesting... Probably don't taste that good.
It was edible, but far from incredible!
We in the Philippines have something called ginataang hito. Which in my opinion the beeeest way to cook catfish.
Jordan it’s a fish, it tastes like fish y wouldn’t it to be good
One of the best catches ever !!! You guys are the best 😁
i lost it when my man was combing his beard😎👍😂😂
