My father used to yell like a marine drill sergeant, standing over me with a leather belt with buffalo coins on it as a toddler. If I didnt stop, he would go to town. He instill belt meant beaten senseless.

I've been dealing with a lot of tantrums lately man and it sucks. I get loud and my wife gives in. I think I'm looking at this whole thing the wrong way. Thank you for the lesson today. I will get better at this.

Yes they do suck...i feel for you. How we look at it and the approach it is so important. Even if it just keeps you from getting upset because you understand it more, that's a win!

The biggest problem I’m having with my 22 month old are the tantrums when she wakes up in the middle of the night and it’s somewhat delirious!!

Is she awake? Have you confirmed they are not night terrors?

My daughter is 13 months and for the most part she is pretty chill. However, when she acts up, i tend to yell, stop it! and wave no with my finger, and it usually works. Of course, im always looking for better ways to do things since this is our first and only baby.
