Looking back a year ago at the time it was right move to let saquon go … he was looking a step slower, poor OL, injured constantly, game plans sucked for him,…. Nobody had a crystal ball …
So I was rooting for the Eagles against the Commanders because I go to a school with a bunch of Commanders fans (I live in DC), and I wasn't willing to deal with all the nonsense that would've come with the Commanders going to the SB. Additionally, I was happy for Saquon, because he deserves so much better than what we gave him. With that being said, I will be rooting hard for the Chiefs, and don't want the Eagles to even come close to winning. I am happy for Saquon as an individual though. Just like you Dan, I harbor no hate for the Chiefs, and it's hard to not root for them as a fan of NFL team building, and watching what they've done the past few years is nothing short of exemplary.
Completely agree with you guys: I loved Saquan as a Giant, but I will NEVER root for eagles to win a preseason game, let alone a superbowl, with or without Barkley. And you’re 100%, all this Barkley rhetoric has been ridiculous, stupid and wrong.
If your a giants fan and your rooting for the eagles then your not a real giants fan it simple you never root for conference rivals.

I have many friends who are Eagles fans. I will NEVER root for that team. I want to see my friends suffer what I've suffered.

I can never root for the Eagles period. I don’t have anything against Saquon , but I root for the uniform not the player. I was in the same boat as Nick …… was rooting for Buffalo , but felt KC has a better chance of beating Philly.
Don’t get me wrong Barkley is a beast. When the pick came in I was statice! So regardless if we would have won more games or not he could have been coupled with Tracy. With good a GM he could’ve made it work. Janiel Dones in comparison was a horrible assessment. All in all I will be routing for the Chiefs in the SB!

The point is that the Giants are fucking miserable and could not build a team that supported him, 6 years went by and we’re 3-14, that’s why people are pissed off. Not for just “letting him go to the eagles” but for being a pathetic team that can’t draft nor evaluate talent.
Totally agree that we'd only have had 2/3 more wins with Saquon on the team. But I just don't think you let your best players go to free agency for nothing, unless you really have no choice. I want our best players to be new york Giants for life, unless we get a great return in trade.
Haven’t heard anyone put the Barkley to the Birds move equal to or above the Brady to Bucs move. I have several ex players say it was in top 5- 10 - which is certainly reasonable opinion. I have been a NYG fan since 1963. As I aged, my hatred for other teams like Philly has significantly diminished. I understand that others feel differently- been there, done that- no judgment. But personally, I don’t want to see KCC get a 3 peat. Lesser of 2 evil situation.

Take the best player available always! If evaluation is very close, take the player that fills the need. Fill needs in free agency with known commodities. Draft is too hard and too much of a crapshoot for you to draft for need instead of best players available. Go look at all the good teams and you'll see that's what they do. Unfortunately, Shoen drafts for need and that's why his drafts have been really bad.
The cap hit for saqoan this year is the same as motors cap hit the Giants dropped the ball

EFF Snakequon. I hope he doesn't win anything in his career. Dude signed with the hated eagles for the same money we offered him in 2022 bye week. We offered 37.5 3 years, he took 37.75 for 3. We offered 23 guaranteed, he got 26. I'm pretty sure joe would've gave him easy incentives to get that 3 million. Dude never wanted to be a giant.

Rooting for Barkley because the New York Giants have made me hate them. They cannot make a single decision right and this front office looks worse by the day, yet the owner keeps them? The Giants are dead to me, maybe until they prove they’re not a disastrous and dysfunctional organization

Screw the Eagles. I have hated them since I watched Herm Edwards scoop up the Pisarcik/Czonka bumbled handoff and steal a win from Giants. It has been decades of Eagle annoyances.
SB was the Giants Walter Payton MOTY candidate and we heard he was a leader in the clubhouse- so Saquon’s cred as a solid person and teammate is undeniable. But the moment he accepted the Eagles offer- he became a part of the enemy. If you wear Eagle green you suck and no credible Giants fan will ever root for them. EVER!

I'm not rooting for Philly, but I hate the Jordan treatment that Maholmes gets from refs almost as much as I hate Philly fans.
Also, I would take the consolation of Mara having to watch Saquon lead a rival to a SB. Mara has caused Giants fans to suffer for over a decade, so anything that gets under his skin I just can't get too mad at.

You guys are a bunch of haters. What negative thing did Barkley ever do. he didn't even want to leave. He just wanted a fair contract. Shoen didn't want him. Let's face it, we have a very bad GM, and will have to keep him as the ownership here is poor at best. Saquon was willing to stay on a losing team just to be loyal. He sat the last half of the last game of his rookie season. He had a chance to get a rookie record by getting like 25 more yards receiving to be 1K rushing & 1K receiving. Then this year gave up on the rushing record (which to me is worth more the SB), to help the team. He's a great person. Why hate on him?

He abused and mistreated her, then divorced her for no reason. She still told him she loves him and wants to stay. He still rejects her. She then goes out finds a good man with money and is living the good life, but the man was the enemy of your friend. You then say- I could never be happy for her because she married the enemy of my friend.
I love the Giants, but I still want Barkley to get a SB win (made easier but the fact I hate the Chiefs also 😁).

Giants fan since 68 here. Yes, I absolutely hate the Eagles. The Chiefs are not far behind. Disliked the AFL. Disliked Hank Stram. I sat thru “the Fumble.” Hated Herm Edwards, and the Chiefs even more when he became their coach. Disliked Andy Reid in Philadelphia, and even more in Kansas City. Dislike Kelce and his no talent twit girlfriend. I’ve watched every Super Bowl from 3 on, and this will be tough to watch.
I like Barkley, but enough already. He was injured as much as he was healthy with the Giants. It’s still a gamble that he will remain healthy for the entire contract, given his history. He’s a bigger Barry Sanders who’ll make a highlight run and thus pad his stats. Instead of putting his head down and gaining what he can, he often lost yardage trying to break the big play. The Giants often were in long yardage situations because of this. The offensive line was bad, but Barkley contributed to many negative plays. I would much rather have a back who eliminates as many negative yardage plays, and sets the team up for better 2nd and 3rd down situations.
My hatred for Philly overshadows my hatred for KC, and don’t worry the refs will be sure KC wins so Mahomes can have his 3 peat and more people will watch with Taylor Swift in attendance. The flip side is Philly winning and Saquon getting SB MVP. Hmmmm

The common denominator b/w the the Eagles going to the Super Bowl and the NYG being the worst team in the NFL, is Future Hall of Famer Saquon Barkley! Tracy Jr behind that Eagles O-Line and the Eagles are not in the Super Bowl, THERE ARE LEVELS, SAQUON IS THE FINAL BOSS!!! I will never forget nor forgive NYG gm Joe Schoen and the Press and the media as a whole for Saquon's departure. Of course the worst GM in NYG history pulled the trigger but there were no serious push back against the mere speculation of not signing Saquon by the media at all, in fact they CO-SIGNED the b.s.! Instead we heard all these dumb A*S talking points like don't pay the RB's, not even a GENERATIONAL RB!??? You don't have a choice but to pay Daniel Jones??? and Now the talk is the RB position is back??? wtbleeeeeep???? clowns!!! Monkey see monkey doo doo.🙈🙈
