    just did a mix with it, and its fantastic. Favorite channel along with the neve, and SSL different colors for different vibes : )

    It looks like it’s really a pleasure to just use this channel on everything just to keep the approach “simplified”.
    Simply good sounding components at every stage are often all you need, not necessarily the most balls-out complex buzzsaw of a plugin for every single stage of shaping… something I have been guilty of many many times.
    😎👍👍

    that A/B at around 21mins is a revelation. of course the comp&eq-ing takes on but the focusrite TMT effect works amazing in stereo

    Thanks for the great video. I loved the original A-Range (red) preamps and EQ’s. As soon as Focusrite came out with the ISA-430 I bought one. I still use it constantly, over 20 years later. And by the way, I think I payed around $4k for it. ONE CHANNEL! So, of course, the second I saw the bx version I grabbed it. It’s identical sonically as well as visually.
    Brainworx plugins are amazing. I own lots of them. The bx_console n channel strip is huge sounding. Their SSL strips are very accurate, especially the E. Townhouse Compressor is wonderful on busses. Bx_rooms is fantastic. It’s become my go to if I want a 224 style reverb, which is only like always.
    Thanks again for the great video!
    Best wishes - Tim

    I recently got the BX SSL 4000 E, SSL 9000J & the Focusrite from the PA sale...They all sound amazing, but I noticed this had a nice openness on the mid/highs and an overall warm sound. Not as punchy as the SSLs obviously, but overall a nice warm clean mix sound....I'm liking the mixture between them so far. Awesome video, the layout of this is pretty cool.
    This plugin reminds me of the year 1994 for some reason...It has a very early-mid 90's feel in a cool way.

    i love this plugin. i bought a license off ebay for super cheap.. I think $19. People sell the Focusrite SC voucher that came with one of the Focusrite Scarlett products. Definitely the cheapest way to get this plugin.
    I have a few other channel strip plugins, but this one goes on every channel by default. The other one I have is the UAD Century Tube channel strip, which gets used for specific tasks where I want to add weight to a specific channel.
    I want to check out is the SSL 9000 plugin. I think the 9000 might be the ultimate compliment to the Focusrite SC.

    Just bought this Focusrite ISA Channel Strip for ...50 €... (Pomo+Coupon...) Tested them on Piano/Vox, Electro track and Radio Commercial (female vox) and they are really interesting. I have also the SSL Native Plugins (the SSL Onesnnot the "crappy" Waves.) And made some comparaisons. The Focusrite sound more smooth in the High end spectrum. They sound really smooth on Ac. Piano, Ac GTRs, and Female vox. The SSL are more precise and punchy but more agressive. I have now an alternative to the SSL's with these wonderful ISA Focusrite channel strips

    In my template I have channel strips on all my buses. after gain staging, the first thing I do is work on the buses with my channel strips only, just to get an idea of where I can take the mix. then disable all the channel strips, mix every channel, instrument, vocals, the lot, sometimes with a channel strip if that's all it takes, otherwise with separate plugins. But when that's done, it's back to the channel strips on the buses to finalize things. I got this Focusrite one for free, took an existing finished mix and replaced my SSL 4k strips with this Focusrite one. It gave a very different feel. more open on the top end, bit more clarity, but less big. I always think 'better' is a difficult word, because it's subjective. But this is a very good one to have in your arsenal if you like to use channel strips too.

    I own ALOT of plugins... way too many to be completely honest. If I had to start from scratch, I would get around 10 of the UAD plugs, then these channel strip plugs from PA. Thats all I use on most of my projects. They`re all great. The AMEK9099 is incredible on drums. The SSL9000J works great on vocals, bass, and guitars. And the Focusrite SC... Just makes everything sound better. So many features on this Focusrite...

  • @happiness1772
    @happiness1772 4 роки тому

    The EQ, compression, and filters are so precise on this console. You really have to know what you're doing to work it. The brainworx SSL E is way more forgiving. I like both, but prefer the SSL E for the smooth EQ and VCA compressor.

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy

      FYI, the Focusrite channel compressor is VCA as well, soft-kneed. It's the ISA130 Module (compressor, gate module, de-esser/exciter).

    Given that we are in computerland, can’t clicking the x3 & /3 buttons just change the numbers around the knob in all these emulations?

  • @bazzzzz6175
    @bazzzzz6175 4 роки тому +2

    Okay, it sounds amazing, I've just downloaded a trial version, so, why does this only go on your busses?
    And, does it negate the need for any other EQ, compressor, gate, de-esser software on your inserts?
    Also, I have the Slate Digital Virtual Mix Rack, which I like. Do I need this too? I also love a plug in.

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy
      @HomeRecordingMadeEasy  4 роки тому +4

      the best use is on all the channels in your session if your computer can handle it. If not, then put it on your busses.

    I love these channel strip plugins but im curious. Like wines paired with meals, what outboard modeled effects do you think would pair well with this? In other words, what are the shortcomings of these types of channel strips that may need some additional help?

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy
      @HomeRecordingMadeEasy  5 років тому +1

      I would not say they have short comings. Using different types of outboard gear has to do with wanting additional colors/flavors to specific tracks. Here is a link you may want to check-out.
