I heard the infectious "Kites are Fun" on an oldies station not too long ago, and have been checking out some of FD's other songs here on UA-cam. I've concluded - as many others have, I'm sure - that they should have had more success and recognition than they got. This is a great song.
Awesome music. Light in the Attic absolutely needs to reissue/rerelease these albums on cd. I got a few of them some years back. They were hard to find. I am missing 4 of the original reissues. This song is lovely!
It's without a doubt one of the best songs of the album... it s a delicate and gracious band ... i know them since nearly 10 years now... and i still only have just 3 of their 8 (is it 8?) lp's... I've read somewhere that Beck was a big fan ! ... and he is surely not the only known name who appreciate their music... because the Free design are one of those bands that people treasure often secretly in their intimacy... "on a quiet night"...(the association)...
the harmonies are magical and that trumpet is just sublime
