The Fender Champion 40 is a 2-channel, 40 watt amp with a 12” speaker. I think this amp might be one of the best guitar amps under $200. The different sounds (voices) are phenomenal, ranging from Tweed, Blackface, British and Metal. In addition, the gain and volume knobs can be dialed in to explore each voice.
The treble and bass knobs let you EQ the sound, while the FX options are fantastic for such an affordable amp. These include reverb+chorus, chorus, flange, delay+reverb, wah, vibrato, and tremolo. A tap button is also included to customize the speed of your vibrato or tremolo.
To give you peace of mind, this amp includes Fender's 2-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.

Thanks for the video, it's been useful. Q: I'm trying to get some rolling stones sound. Do you know if there is some configuration to achieve that tone? Thanks!
Give me a couple of songs (Satisfaction, Start Me Up, Paint it Black?), and I will see what I can do. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Have you been able to use a boost pedal with this amp? I have an MXR boost pedal that worked great with a tube amp but does nothing with the Champion 40.
started playing with a fender 40 back in quarantine. Your channel is the only one I've found that explains exactly how to use it best. Thank you!
My pleasure! I am so glad my videos are helpful! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Bro, I love your videos about the champion 40 settings. Ordered one 3+ years ago and it's just been the best inexpensive amp I've ever owned in 30+ years of guitar. Thanks again

Meanwhile i got a used Champion 40 in near new condition for just 90 € from a friend, i love that amp and his classic Fender Blackface look. My choice for a good rock sound: a Behringer OD300 Overdrive/distortion (or a similar pedal) into the clean channel gives way more clarity as the amp modeled voice knob tones. Even on very low living room volume, especially if the pedal has a own volume control which the OD300 has.
Can you connect a loop pedal to this amp??
Great video ! thanks man!
Thank you, and my pleasure!
Can it do classic Rock and Blues.
Can you make a video how to get a Fusion sound on this amp

Between these 2 videos, that should help you get a wide range of tones! Thank you for watching and commenting!
How can I replicate the tremolo\vibrato sound from How Soon Is Now (The Smiths - Johnny Marr)?
How about a clean tone video. Semi hollow body smooth jazz a la Carlton. Thanks!
Thanks man!
Happy to help!
Setting at 3:29 if you don’t wanna hear the beginning
How can i get a lead / volume increase on this amp?
I'll use channel 2 for a crunch / rhythm sound then when I use my Boss overdrive pedal to get a volume increase for a solo, nothing changes; the volume remains the same no matter how much I increase the gain or volume on the pedal.
Any advice?
Does this amp sounds good at room tone level?
Will these tips work for my Champion 100?
I just ordered this amp and I’m wondering if it’s any good for a pop punk sort of sound like early blink 182 or sum 41

Great video man, I have a question and it's if I can play Pink Floyd's songs like "Comfortably Numb" with this Fender Champion 40? Greetings from México.
Thank you Luis! Let me see what I can do! Thank you for watching and commenting!
What volume and tone should my guitar be?
Guys and girls how do you compensate champion 20 or 40s lack of middle knob. Im considering buying champ20 but the lack of gain knob worries me.
Middle is set in the amp parameters/programming what would have been say 12.00 o’clock if it was a dial like on the Champion 100.
@@alpark56 thanks for the info
Hey man, I loved the Metallica video and this one too, I was wondering if alternatively you can try to get a more Indie tone, like Surf Curse? Thanks!
I have not tried, let me see what I can do! Thank you for watching and commenting!
So...
Can I use a headset
It does have a headphone jack! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Best settings for rythym/punk playing on the Champion 40?
Start here: Channel 2, Gain: 7, Volume: 4, Voice: British (Red indicator light), Treble: 5, Bass: 1, FX Level: 0, FX Select: none!
You will need to adjust the EQ a bit to match your guitar.
PLEASE let me know if that helps! Thank you for watching and commenting!
i love ur videos and this amp. im trying to get a guns n roses appetite for destruction (like november rain) with this amp, but i cant get it right. do u have any ideas?
Make sure you use plenty of reverb (green light setting). Try this: Setting (bridge pickup): Channel 2, Gain: 10, Volume: 5, Voice: British (Yellow indicator light) OR Metal (Red indicator light) , Treble: 6, Bass: 10, FX Level: 5, FX Select: Reverb+Ch (Green indicator light).
I have one of these amps
Stick a celestion seventy 80 speaker in and this amp is truly great
I found with modelling amps is to not make it sound like something else but to make it sound like what it is best at
I would love to hear this amp with different speakers! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Omg I want it!
Do the effects work in the clean channel such as reverb and chorus?
Yes they do! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I turn the treble to 8 and the bass to 5-7 to get a mid rich tone
I use a telecaster with tone knob at 5, the amp's treble never goes above 3, way to brittle above that.
Kinda looking for a heavier metal tone, and I don't know which distortion pedal I should use that wouldn't be too expensive. I was thinking of using the Boss Metalzone MT-2 but I'm not sure if it'll go along well with this amp. Could you try it out? Or at least give me some tips please?
I would love to review distortion pedals, but budget does not allow that right now (I don't own any). Maybe soon! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hey man, any tips on recording this amp?
I use a Shure SM57 pointed near the middle of the speaker. I run the mic into a MOTU 1248, and that plugs into my laptop. From there, you just need to listen for any peaks (unwanted distortion) and watch the level meter on the 1248, and in your software. I hope that helps!

@@5MinuteMusic Yes ! But i have a question, is it possible to have metal solo guitar tone ? You know, all the shred stuff
Can you play Hendrix on this Fender Combo...that would convince me....
With gain on 10 and volume on 5 my windows get blown out!
I agree, gain way to high.
“In advanced I hope it’s not e standard because I’m so sick of Metallica style demos” -me on a ton of caffeine
Why would you demo this using an Ibanez ?
It is the only guitar I have right now. Thank you for watching and commenting!
it dousnt work i have a fender classic
thats an overpowered amp haha
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Sounds terrible.
This amp is garbage,,,, I bought one and it really is shit. It’s actually beyond shit.
@Far Stox Obviously I did, Two pots were fried for the effects, I replaced them . Sounds ok if you use foot pedals. They never should have put effects on this amp, because they are all pretty bad.
Play clean with peddles and it’s great.
Perfect horrible transistor sound. Not a Marshall sound.
