We are supporting Battersea Park Children's Zoo in their #ShareSavvy campaign! The Oceanarium is focusing on turtles as all of our freshwater turtles were originally pets. Many of our species of freshwater turtles are endangered. Due to social media trends, turtles are being portrayed as being
pet friendly and easy to look after. This unfortunately fuels the illegal wildlife trade. Many don't realise the full requirements needed for these reptiles, and therefore, more often than not, they are rehomed or abandoned.
It is crucial to be #ShareSavvy when it comes to engaging with social media content. You should ensure the animals portrayed are living in a suitable
environment and that the health and well-being of the animal isn't jeopardized in the content shown.
