Honestly, same. It wasn't until I got into higher level math stuff midway through junior high that it felt like it even mattered (It did, but this is kid logic talking here)
I didn't start 'studying hard' until the start of Senior year. I've always been a C or a D student or even an E if I'm not paying attention at all, that is until last year. I started joining Zoom calls with a friend and we basically study together every night by ourselves from 7-8PM. Now I get A's in at least 5 subjects. You've just got to start somewhere, plus, having a friend when you self-study helps make the biggest difference. The first time I got just 2 A's I was absolutely overjoyed. This clip hits home.
