I agree that these BOSE Wave Radios are still very relevant. It's not even necessary to have bluetooth, either. Just connect an Amazon Alexa or some similar device to stream over the AUX connection. (Though I hear some of the Alexa devices now don't have the line out.) From what I know, some have fixed the CD skips - or not allowing the user to change audio sources while it says "please wait" after powering on - by changing only the 22uF 6V capacitor under the metal shield that says "do not re-use" (or words to that effect) on the AWRCC1 and AWRCC2 (not sure about AWRCC7). Question: How does one locate the correct size capacitor? (I see a lot of videos where they make larger ones work, but I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.) It makes sense that the other capacitors are on the way out too. So my second question: How long might it be expected to work for those who replace only one capacitor vs. all the capacitors that do not have correct ESR readings? Here is someone else fixing one of these BOSE Wave radios for CD playback that skips (but he doesn't say what model he's working on): www.watchrepairtalk.com/topic/21247-old-bose-cdradio-player-repair-it-is-also-a-clockso-it-fits-on-this-forum/
Excellent video as always. One thing I love about you is that you do an honest job with repairing electronics eg. Looking out for the customer 😁 I need to go back through your older videos on troubleshooting and repairing a Samsung tv I have to get it up and running. Thanks again for an awesome video 👍
Patch1stripe TV Parts, Thank you for taking the time to explain everything so well and make this video! Very informative, it is hard to find specifics on these Bose wave radios (I guess Bose didn't release schematics) to be able to diagnose and repair. Where can we buy the capacitors and common parts that usually fail in these units? My 2007 Bose wave radio was working fine, I always left it plugged into outlet but it was hardly used and everything worked perfectly including the CD. I didn't use it for a year and when I went to try it even though it was plugged in it was not lit up. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked on the radio setting for 30 seconds and shutoff and will not turn back on. Any suggestions on exactly what avenue to troubleshoot? Thank you
Hi.. my boss wave 3 lost sound. My technician says that the 'board' is corroded and needs replacing. I'm in Srilanka with no r Tec support. Can you pls advise. Cheers
the volume can no longer be adjusted just bought a new remote still can't adjust the volume....is it fixable? CD quit working a year ago as well...is this repairable?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts will I be able to figure it out by watching your videos, I started watching last night & took the cover off last night, it needs a hood “dusting” cleaning…vacuum or bow it out with air?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts yes, there is sou d...but can't control the volume using the remote...it only goes UP...not down...tried a new remote battery and I even tried a new remote; I get the light indicating it’s communicating, but you can’t reduce the volume, it only increases
This channel is not for quick fix hacks; it's for folks that want to do it right the first time and make the repair that will last for years to come. Anything less than that, won't last a month.

My Bose Wave III has no sound when using aux in or the Bluetooth adapter. Any ideas?

Thanks for the super fast reply. I think the problem is inside the radio, I have no sound with the 3.5mm jack either.
My display turns on but it is scrambled. Looking to find a way to repair if possible. Or should I just replace the screen?
I would change the display!
