3:46 but this Timelapse is just GOERGOUS! The stars that glimpse through the little holes between the clouds are crisp and clear, love it with the lighthouse in the foreground 👍🤩! And I just treasure people that show not-so-perfect nights
Thanks man! You're in for a treat if you like less than perfect shots. After a recent adventure I'm thinking to make a video 'x reasons why astrophotography could go wrong' 😄
@@StarScaperPhoto I'm from Switzerland and we haven't had the slightest chance to even make mistakes for months 🥲! But before? Where should I start? Bumping into a perfectly polar aligned tripod? Forgetting to charge the batteries? Not turning on the due-heater? Not re-focusing after meridian flip? Forgetting so step-down the ISO after orientation in the night sky? Deleting files before processing them? You name it and I'm sure I did it. But you know how it is: When it DOES work, when Siril does it's magic of stacking, you switch to "autostretch" and it blows you away, or even those nights where the picture on the tiny little camera display looks perfekt, THAT'S WHY WE DO IT 🤩!
I tell you what, Jeroen, this wasn’t a failure in any way. You guys absolutely showed what this is all about - the adventure, being there in the moment, and giving it a go. And on top of that, you got some beautiful timelapse and some great photographs, even if they weren’t what you’d intended. This sort of dedication always pays dividends - you’ve got to be in it to win it. Great video. Good old U.K. weather wins again! 🤦♂️
Thanks so much Paul! And although we were ofcourse a bit disappointed by the UK weather, we did have a blast! In it to win it indeed. Better luck next time... or after that... ;-).
Haha, trust me I can. I will make a vlog sometime about all those times I was disappointed so much that I didn't even manage to take my camera out or film something 😄
Oh no, I fully commend you for your commitment to the search for a potentially clear location, maintaining a sense of humour and for sharing even when its not all roses and clear skies. It's a shame @nightscapejournals didn't meet up with you, would have been fun to see 2 of my favourite astro youtubers together 😊. Happy new year and looking forward to continuing to enjoy your great content thru 2024
Thanks so much Greg! You win some you lose some. Helps to have some good company which is committed to making it a fun trip nevertheless 👍. I had hoped to meet up with Paul also but since we decided only on the morning itself to go, Paul had already made plans with 2 other buddies of him. We tried to meet up later that evening but clouds maintained, long drive, Paul had to work next day, etc. We are still however very motivated to make a collab possible in the future! 😀
Even if it's not the photo you were hoping for, I still think it's a great photo to see the stars behind the cloud cover. I remember last year waiting for weeks for a clear sky to photograph a dolmen with the Milky Way above it. Once I arrived at the location, there was a construction site unit with a security camera with a bright green light.. But anyway, New Year, new chances 😁
I hope my group didn't disturb you that night. Thanks for being considerate (as we tried to be, of course). So I guess we share the same fail, but fantastic effort on your part to chase even the hope of clear skies. Loveley shots. I look forward to watching your other videos. Kind regards, Dion.
Hi Dion. Good to see you found the channel and specific video of that night! 😀. Your group didn't disturb in any way, you tought them well about nightscaping etiquette haha. Shame it didn't work out that night, but that's also part of this game sometimes.
Let us hear about your biggest fails in 2023! 😊

@@StarScaperPhoto Oh and thanks for your quick and personal reactions 👍
@@stefanschneider3681 yes... and YES! 😄. And believe me... there's much more reasons, not even tech related 🙃

Bottom line is, you simply cant be dissapointed :D. And I know its not the image you hoped for, but I still really like it!

Story of my life this year, and when I did get clarity, I messed up the shooting
I live just down the road from Harwich, it's been cloudy for weeks and weeks, hopefully 2024 will change our luck, still enjoyed the video 👍
Thanks Bill! Have to say you live in a beautiful area!
I'm so sure you had a great time and I still love the images! So no time lost Id say. Happy new year! 🎇
Thank you Jan! Although we certainly hoped for a bit more, we still had a great time. Happy new year for you too!

Thanks Mark! And man, that construction site story sounds like a serious bummer also 😅.

Alsnog een geweldig avontuur en de herinnering blijft langer hangen dan het plaatje 🚀
Dankjewel Tom! En zo is dat 💪
Don't feel bad I shot four hours and got one on my first shot.
Wow, on the first shot already! 😀👌
So sorry the UK weather let you down.
Ah no worries, part of the game. I might get back to the UK this year! We scouted some potentially nice areas!
@@StarScaperPhoto Maybe arrange a meet up of your fans here?

Painfully relatable to watch lol clear sky in 2024!
Haha, yup, it's part of our hobby 😅
Happy new year Jeroen and i think you will some chances this year
Thank you Kevin! I'm sure we both will! We have a full year ahead so should be good 😉
