  • In this lesson I explain how to answer Graph Exam Questions. The questions are taken from Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) papers.
🌟Question 1 0:26 (a) Complete table of values for y = 15/x, x ≠ 0 (b) Draw graph (c) Write down order of rotational symmetry of graph (di) Draw lines of symmetry (dii) Write down equation of line of symmetry not intersecting graph (e) Use graph to solve equation 15/x = -6
    🌟Question 2 11:13 (a) Complete table of values for y = x² - 3/2x, x ≠ 0 (b) Draw graph (c) By drawing a suitable straight line, solve equation x² - 3/2x = 24/5 -2x (d) The solutions to x² - 3/2x = 24/5 -2x are also the solutions to an equation of the form ax³ + bx² + cx - 15 = 0 where a, b & c are integers. Find the values of a, b & c
    🌟Cheesy maths joke 25:28
    🌟Question 3 25:48 (a) Complete the table of values for y = 3 + 4x - x² (b) Draw graph (c) Write down an integer value of k for which the equation 3 + 4x - x² = k has no solutions (d) By drawing a suitable straight line, solve the equation -1 + 4.5x - x² = 0
🌟Question 4 36:34 (ai) The grid shows the graph a + bx². The graph passes through (0,4) and (1,1). Find the values of a & b (aii) Write down the equation of the tangent at (0,4) (aiii) The equation of the tangent at x = -1 is y = 6x + 7. Find the equation of the tangent to the graph at x = 1 (bi) Complete the table of values for y = 1 + 5/(3-x) (bii) Draw the graph (ci) Write down the values of x where the 2 graphs intersect (cii) The answers to (ci) are 2 solutions of a cubic equation in terms of x. Find this equation in the form ax³ + bx² + cx + d = 0, where a, b, c & d are integers
    🌟Question 5 50:54 (a) Complete the table of values for y = x³ - 3x² + 3 (b) Draw the graph (c) By drawing a suitable straight line, solve x³ - 3x² + x + 1 = 0
