- In this episode of Main Bhi Bharat we talk about the Ex-Tea Garden tribe of Assam. These are tribals in Assam brought here by British government in the early 19th century. Now settled here for more than two centuries, these tribes are not working in the tea gardens anymore.
The Assam government has given them the term -- Ex Tea Garden Tribes. Most of these tribes depend on agriculture for their livelihood and follow the tradition, customs and culture of their own. Few years back, a three member committee was formed to conduct a study to find out if these tribes fulfil the criteria to get Scheduled Tribe (ST) status in Assam. This committee has given its report, but these tribes are still waiting a decision from the central government on the issue.

In Assam we r not treated equally and facing lots of discrimination, we have been deprived from our birth right . The struggle for schedule tribe status in Assam is a part of a wider struggle of identity assertion/crises.

I would request to rajya sabha media to help these tribes and urge u to kindly report to the central govt. so that they can get their basic n better livelihood n may get all facilities what they have the fundamental rights in the constitution.

Tribal, Munda @ Santal were the ancient tribes of India,.
But, North- East was their punishment places during british government period of India.
The Munda, Santal, Oraon, Khariya, etc.. Tribal groups as comparison with
Mongloliyan tribes like Naga, Mejo, Aadi, Kuki were less ancient then the tribals group of India like Santal, Munda, Khariya etc..
In regards to the tribal of NE and santal munda etc....the mentioned tribes are in right places at their own. But here there could not be any issue like more or less ancient in between NE tribals and Santals munda etc of MP,JHARKAND,CHATISGARH N ORISSA etc. But in the History of Assam Santhals n munda etc were not ancient.

northeast is the land of Mongolian tribal peoples not Dravidian /Proto asutric communities..can we the tribe of Northeast Have the same facilities in Jharkhand,Orrisa , Chattisgarh, You people's don't even allow to enter a new person in you villages but we are still providing you people's shelter,govt facilities,Many more schemes for you people's ,could we the tribal peoples of Northeast get the same benefits you are getting in our land never .You people's don't even like our face ,you call us chinki , Chinese and again you want facilities in our own land 😅..simply we the indigenous peoples quotas are not sufficient for our own people's then ,how can we give you people's the same benefits and one more who told you that you people's are ancient then the tribe of Northeast India, Munda santhal may ancient in their own land not in the land of Ours ...of you don't want to stay here then go back to your own land .

Adivasi Negrito group people came to North-East during British rule i.e. 1889...They are not native in Assam and north-east...Mongoloid race groups like Boro-kachari,Rabha,Deori,Mishing,Tripuri,Dimasa etc are native in North-Eastern India.
