Using a dubbing loop for form collars, is a very slick way to make dense collars with no extra bulk. Removing the hide from fur or the stem from a feather, drastically reduces bulk and makes for very clean tied flies. Have you thought of starting your rabbit strips material at the eye of your hook so the material is not so bulky?
