I like the Boss amp best, with the Taylor (which costs more) a close second. Both better than my Fishman Loudbox mini. The guitars are a matter of personal choice. I have a Taylor, so I guess I'm attuned to it. I like the way you made it a blind test and mixed up the order of the amps. Well done, thanks for posting.

Straight off I liked Amp 1. The Taylor.

I bought that Boss amp a couple of years ago and am very happy with it. I think the demo reinforced that. I am also convinced that the Anthem Pickup is far superior to the ES2 , but neither can reproduce pure acoustic tones. Great comparison by you guys.

I enjoyed hearing the Martin guitar with the Fender acoustic amplifier. The best sounding and quality guitar's have either a dovetail construction or Spanish Heel Construction. Luthiers and Martin, Gibson and others only make quality guitar's with either dovetail or Spanish Heel Construction. Taylor guitar's uses nuts and bolts to attach the neck to the body construction. Low quality for alot of monies. Yes steel string guitars are made with the Spanish Heel Construction too! Thank you

Very good comparison- same song, 2 diff guitar manufacturers (1 close to my Taylor), & mixing up the order. Surprisingly enough the Boss sounded a bit cleaner on the picking, but using the Martin the picking sounded cleaner on the 1st amp- Fender sounded cleaner through the picking. Am a music purist & Love the Cleanest sound possible. Thanks- this helps greatly when deciding between the Boss & Fender for my Taylor- well done!

Hard decision between the Taylor and Boss... Just a bit different in the mids and both were brittle on the top end. The Fender didn't do it for me at all. In the end, I'd go Boss but cut the treble a bit.

These are all better sounding than my Fishman Loudbox. What do these sound like if the pickup didn't have a pre-amp (like a K&K Pure Mini? The LR Baggs pickup sounds better in all cases, or maybe I just like the Martin sound. As for the amps, I liked the Boss, then Taylor. But before I bought any, I would need to hear what the voice combined with guitar would sound like, possibly using the microphone (Ear Trumpet) I use. Thanks Joe

OH wow I actually found that the taylor amp sounded very very tinny, I thought the boss was much fuller.

#2 sounded the best, followed by #1, then #3.

I would go with the Boss as well, and must say I thought it sounded a bit better with the Taylor, even though I am partial to Martins ...
If I am ever in a position to spend some serious money on another guitar, I will have to keep an open mind, right?

The Taylor was the best for both guitars.

I play a Fender American Acoustasonic Tele in a 5 piece country southern rock band. I don't think it's very good compared to my un-amped Taylor 814, but it beats any piezo pickup acoustic, they all sound the same to me and they all sound lousy. I run a Fender Acoustic Junior and it keeps up with the drummer live. For the Tele sounds I had to add an SP Comp to get it to have anything like electric tone. I'd like to try the Circa 74, but it kinda seems more like a $599 amp than a $1200 Amp. The 100 W acoustic Junior is $499 and has effects (which I don't use I run and an old school pedal board with analogue pedals.) The Circa 74 is made in China like all the rest and shouldn't be so expensive. At $699 I'd order one.

I think all of them sounded great, but had a bit different flavor.... which could be easily changed by settings to sound the same. I also think the playing samples were far too long for each.

It really does depend on the match between guitar & amp. For me, the Taylor amp was best with the Taylor guitar but not with the Martin. I own a Taylor, the Circa 74 looks best, so that would be my choice were I to buy another amp. But seriously, at the little gigs that I do, nobody would notice the difference or care.

Martin guitar much better then taylor..taylor amp best with both guitars tho martin sounded pretty good thru all amps taylor to much string buzz etc greener wood sound I've used fender accoustisonic horrible amps distort to easy no volume. Heard the boss accoustic amps live i don't like either.boss makes a great kantana amp..we need a vocal demo thru these amps I'd suggest taylor amp the best?

Honestly, I didn't like any of them with any combination of either guitar. They all sounded plastic and fake. And I know you said everything to 12 o'clock. And that's the right thing to do so. I'm telling you, we gotta get another. We need an amp that can do the real thing to to play The Sound as the real sound, come on let's go!

Which amps do you recommend? I've heard bass amps do great for acoustic guitars

@@BruceWayne-rb1mb I bet they would because of giving better bottom end, but I've never tried one myself. Also... since I'm a Mechanical Designer and consider myself a Maker, I'm working on a prototype Acoustic Amp, so far, so good!
