I'm so glad I found this interview. He speaks of everything I have felt so passionately about since my own dulling experience of mainstream education. I left school at 14 after a battle of wills between myself, my mother and the system/ institution. What a waste of time it all was! I started life as a free spirit, became naturally good at art and crafts, loved nature and loved thinking and creating. How soon into the school system that becomes secondary to a forced, generic knowledge that churns out a certain type of character, conveniently lacking depth so as to fulfil a role in a mechanical society and not question anything. I knew as a child there was something very wrong with it but had neither the voice or credibility to be heard by the system. Thank goodness my mum listened in the end and took me out of it, the relief was enormous. I went on to think for myself, find my own path and be self employed and, importantly, learned to solve problems! I now have 5 children, the oldest is 13, he loves school for the social aspect, the learning is secondary and I'm afraid he has been sucked into the trappings of modern culture. My second is 7, naturally clever and hates school .... I took him out to homeschool, no questions asked! I have every faith in his interests and abilities. I have yet to find out what will be with the other 3 but, I feel I will do them an injustice by sending them to mainstream education (especially in Wales!).

This just made me try to imagine/predict one of the possible problems we could face in the next 50+ years.. I always knew I wanted to homeschool my children, I always could see through the corrupted design of the educational system. If everyone who realizes this homeschools or goes to alternative schools, this will be great for their souls but the problem is some people will continue to participate in the system and end up contributing to bad things. What I'm trying to say is as a trend starts there would be a big gap between the people outside the system and inside. Good people are less dangerous than evil people in the sense that the bad people will end up having access to technologies that the good people can not even imagine. The issue is therefore more complex than just removing ourselves from the system, because as long as the system exists there will be a threat to our peace and freedom. We will need the people out of the system to be adapted to some degree to the system so we still know what we're up against. But converting every robot we can back into a sovereign human is the most important thing at this time
I think something like this is an amazing way to explore the possibilities for children, give them actual life skills, and discover the interests of the children. But I hope there is an emphasis on choosing his/her path to become a master at whatever art/skill that they choose. That difficulties will arise with whatever path, but to work through it together, and learn not to immediatly shy away from the difficulties to take the easier paths. To be prideful in their accomplishments, open to all forms of knowledge, and maybe most importantly, to be strong.

I half agree, there needs to be a wider spectrum of syllabus in mainstream education but the ideals Satish is talking about are an old set of ideals, we have streamlined the production process so we can mass produce pots and pans and woven textiles, cottage crafts are useful but by mechanising the production process we have freed up time to focus on other things like the arts, creativity in production has lead to scientific advances that benefit mankind, the model, like all models needs to be updated regularly, in todays modern world we have science to help us understand what is actually occuring in the world around us, to help us progress.... as the 'indoctrination' slowly educates itself as a consequence of dogmatic research providing unexpected answers that lead to new understandings and deeper insights that replace the older ways of thinking I think we will see things balance out naturally
Knowledge is never old or new, it is knowledge. The concept of gravity which is more then 4 centuries old is still relevant when plotting trajectory for rocket launches. What can be a novelty is the use of this knowledge. Computational theories or knowledge have existed since Babylon the way we use it today is the novelty not its existence.
That's right - balance between wisdom, knowledge and experience is totally broken in our education system. But rejecting the modern society can't be right. Being an employee is not good or bad... job title does not make people worthy or worthless, creative or dumb. I believe its more complicated than that.
The most important thing for a Person it to learn to READ AND WRITE and well..Check. If a Person wants to pursue further then they should. Not every one is to learn the same thing or the Almighty GOOD would have created All of US the same. LEARNING IS A GREAT BEAUTIFUL EXCITING but because we are taught only to learn for the System we miss out on learning a lot about our own basic SELVES.
If we didn't treat education as torture. I thought myself basically to read, later to write. Mathematics has always been a struggle because of the nonsensical way it is tought! I have been able to teach myself quite a bit. But too many totally inhuman concepts just don't work for me, treat it as it should be tools to use to understand the world! I don't think that statements mean that everyone is good in the same thing(s), rather that everyone of us has talents - so you might not be good in drawing, but good in something else (which others are not so good in).
i dont draw either, but i am leaning i am quite creative in improving "how we do things" my best friend who invented a better way of being a paramedic years ago, cannot sing a tune to save his life, yet he is really gifted at seeing what really need to be done and implement the change. he is a real people person.
Thank your family, who obviously didn't see this as important, my father people we're builders and sailors they understood that some things can only be conveyed by drawing! They also understood that the state schools we're limited to only training the next generation of factory workers and clerks, not professionals
The issue with our public education system is that if you don't follow the narrative in your exams, you will not get your grades. This tells us that not following what teachers want us to believe, means you are wrong if you think or write down your own version of events. So in other words we are not allowed to be creative in our thinking.
Not necessarily my version, but since leaving education I have been able to confirm 90% of history and science I was thought we're lies, or in the case of science ridiculously outdated!
I agree modern education is in rough shape. It could be so much better. But to only focus on the problems that “industrial” education has created is a bit silly. Sure nuclear weapons are terrible, but what about our doubled life expectancy or the fact that deaths from war are declining faster than ever globally, or hey the elephant in the room: before the industrial revolution 40% of children died before they were 5 years old, yet today its under 4% globally and falling fast. I think we forget how hard previous generations had it far too quickly and idealize a ‘simpler’ way of being without thinking about all the factors. I definitely do think education needs a complete top to bottom rethink though, and we need to bring more creativity, spirituality and respect into the mix. It’s a shame that many of the folks leading the charge have such one-sided views though, as thats part of the problem with todays system in reverse, we only looks at things from one perspective - an “industrial” one. We need the best of both worlds to really move to the next level.

Hmmm. it is always good to have some revolutionary, out of the Jar, thinking. teaching basic survival skills is great. teaching languages and anatomy is great, etc.. however , you need a system to prepare children for life, for real life. if you teach a kid how to cook , hunt and gather, clean his dishes , and how to speak Russian , when he gets to the age of majority , what is he going to do ? start his own business ? he needs money . where to get money ? unless he is a rich kid, with plenty to spare , he is doomed to live under a bridge, where he could beg for seeds to plant and feed himself, hopefully no needing a hospital , because again he is gonna need money. my point is , this kind of revolution needs to start by finding an alternative to the real issue, which is money... and only money. i get the point of this interview , but i honestly think that it is just another failed try to change our way of thinking. the worst TWO inventions that drove humanity to its current pathetic status are Money and Gods. no offense. teach that to kids. and watch G.H interview about Immortality Not Wealth.
So the kids learn to make pots and pans. Ok, how do they learn specialist skills? It's all very well learning basic holistic skills but how will that help build new engines or perform intricate surgery? The jack of all trades is a master of none. I'm not a fan of the schooling system the west has adopted but this geezer seems to concentrate a bit to much on the creative and not so much on the systematic.
these children will go on to become the better specialisit creatives. they will get that advanced education with this type of creative problemsolving, and critical thinking education as their base.
Ray Bankes I suppose so but who will teach them? Let's say I went to this guys school as a child and naturally excelled in mathematics, geometry, the science's etc. I turned 16 and decided I wanted to learn mechanical engineering as a career. Does his school have the specialist tutors for this? If not, would I apply for university? Would universities accept me with no formal qualifications? The point I'm making is that unless there are professional tutors available to coach and mentor specialised skills, schools like this cannot foster advanced and focused knowledge. To have all the skills under one roof is known as a university - they already exist. So is this guys school just for elementary skills? I have nothing against that, I'm just curious about how he would foster specialist skills.
in the video he said they had a student in the early days want to learn Russian. the asked the community and found a Russian speaking person who was willing to teach this student. He also said they do class work too, but what he is saying is that the 3 R's (Reading Writing and Arithmetic) alone don't cut it in a child's education. Could i suggest you listen to the talk again and try to hear where he mentions the we need a balance or experiential learning. tons of learning happens outside the classroom. you apply the class room in the real world. and mainstream "schools" just dont do that very well.
I think the extra emphasis on the creative in this interview is to get the point through that creativity is important too. It's a bit redundant to mention reading and writing and what have you in most education systems, because their place in the curriculum is obviously in place. He wanted to give spotlight to other skills that are also important.

I'm so glad I found this interview. He speaks of everything I have felt so passionately about since my own dulling experience of mainstream education. I left school at 14 after a battle of wills between myself, my mother and the system/ institution. What a waste of time it all was! I started life as a free spirit, became naturally good at art and crafts, loved nature and loved thinking and creating. How soon into the school system that becomes secondary to a forced, generic knowledge that churns out a certain type of character, conveniently lacking depth so as to fulfil a role in a mechanical society and not question anything. I knew as a child there was something very wrong with it but had neither the voice or credibility to be heard by the system. Thank goodness my mum listened in the end and took me out of it, the relief was enormous. I went on to think for myself, find my own path and be self employed and, importantly, learned to solve problems! I now have 5 children, the oldest is 13, he loves school for the social aspect, the learning is secondary and I'm afraid he has been sucked into the trappings of modern culture. My second is 7, naturally clever and hates school .... I took him out to homeschool, no questions asked! I have every faith in his interests and abilities. I have yet to find out what will be with the other 3 but, I feel I will do them an injustice by sending them to mainstream education (especially in Wales!).

This just made me try to imagine/predict one of the possible problems we could face in the next 50+ years.. I always knew I wanted to homeschool my children, I always could see through the corrupted design of the educational system. If everyone who realizes this homeschools or goes to alternative schools, this will be great for their souls but the problem is some people will continue to participate in the system and end up contributing to bad things. What I'm trying to say is as a trend starts there would be a big gap between the people outside the system and inside. Good people are less dangerous than evil people in the sense that the bad people will end up having access to technologies that the good people can not even imagine. The issue is therefore more complex than just removing ourselves from the system, because as long as the system exists there will be a threat to our peace and freedom. We will need the people out of the system to be adapted to some degree to the system so we still know what we're up against. But converting every robot we can back into a sovereign human is the most important thing at this time

I think something like this is an amazing way to explore the possibilities for children, give them actual life skills, and discover the interests of the children. But I hope there is an emphasis on choosing his/her path to become a master at whatever art/skill that they choose. That difficulties will arise with whatever path, but to work through it together, and learn not to immediatly shy away from the difficulties to take the easier paths. To be prideful in their accomplishments, open to all forms of knowledge, and maybe most importantly, to be strong.

I half agree, there needs to be a wider spectrum of syllabus in mainstream education but the ideals Satish is talking about are an old set of ideals, we have streamlined the production process so we can mass produce pots and pans and woven textiles, cottage crafts are useful but by mechanising the production process we have freed up time to focus on other things like the arts, creativity in production has lead to scientific advances that benefit mankind, the model, like all models needs to be updated regularly, in todays modern world we have science to help us understand what is actually occuring in the world around us, to help us progress.... as the 'indoctrination' slowly educates itself as a consequence of dogmatic research providing unexpected answers that lead to new understandings and deeper insights that replace the older ways of thinking I think we will see things balance out naturally

The most important thing for a Person it to learn to READ AND WRITE and well..Check. If a Person wants to pursue further then they should. Not every one is to learn the same thing or the Almighty GOOD would have created All of US the same. LEARNING IS A GREAT BEAUTIFUL EXCITING but because we are taught only to learn for the System we miss out on learning a lot about our own basic SELVES.
If we didn't treat education as torture. I thought myself basically to read, later to write. Mathematics has always been a struggle because of the nonsensical way it is tought! I have been able to teach myself quite a bit. But too many totally inhuman concepts just don't work for me, treat it as it should be tools to use to understand the world! i dont draw either, but i am leaning i am quite creative in improving "how we do things" my best friend who invented a better way of being a paramedic years ago, cannot sing a tune to save his life, yet he is really gifted at seeing what really need to be done and implement the change. he is a real people person.

The issue with our public education system is that if you don't follow the narrative in your exams, you will not get your grades. This tells us that not following what teachers want us to believe, means you are wrong if you think or write down your own version of events. So in other words we are not allowed to be creative in our thinking.
Not necessarily my version, but since leaving education I have been able to confirm 90% of history and science I was thought we're lies, or in the case of science ridiculously outdated!

Sure nuclear weapons are terrible, but what about our doubled life expectancy or the fact that deaths from war are declining faster than ever globally, or hey the elephant in the room: before the industrial revolution 40% of children died before they were 5 years old, yet today its under 4% globally and falling fast. I think we forget how hard previous generations had it far too quickly and idealize a ‘simpler’ way of being without thinking about all the factors. I definitely do think education needs a complete top to bottom rethink though, and we need to bring more creativity, spirituality and respect into the mix. It’s a shame that many of the folks leading the charge have such one-sided views though, as thats part of the problem with todays system in reverse, we only looks at things from one perspective - an “industrial” one. We need the best of both worlds to really move to the next level.

Hmmm. it is always good to have some revolutionary, out of the Jar, thinking. teaching basic survival skills is great. teaching languages and anatomy is great, etc.. however , you need a system to prepare children for life, for real life. if you teach a kid how to cook , hunt and gather, clean his dishes , and how to speak Russian , when he gets to the age of majority , what is he going to do ? start his own business ? he needs money . where to get money ? unless he is a rich kid, with plenty to spare , he is doomed to live under a bridge, where he could beg for seeds to plant and feed himself, hopefully no needing a hospital , because again he is gonna need money. my point is , this kind of revolution needs to start by finding an alternative to the real issue, which is money... and only money. i get the point of this interview , but i honestly think that it is just another failed try to change our way of thinking. the worst TWO inventions that drove humanity to its current pathetic status are Money and Gods. no offense. teach that to kids. and watch G.H interview about Immortality Not Wealth.

So the kids learn to make pots and pans. Ok, how do they learn specialist skills? It's all very well learning basic holistic skills but how will that help build new engines or perform intricate surgery? The jack of all trades is a master of none.
I'm not a fan of the schooling system the west has adopted but this geezer seems to concentrate a bit to much on the creative and not so much on the systematic.
these children will go on to become the better specialisit creatives. they will get that advanced education with this type of creative problemsolving, and critical thinking education as their base.
Ray Bankes I suppose so but who will teach them? Let's say I went to this guys school as a child and naturally excelled in mathematics, geometry, the science's etc. I turned 16 and decided I wanted to learn mechanical engineering as a career. Does his school have the specialist tutors for this? If not, would I apply for university? Would universities accept me with no formal qualifications?
The point I'm making is that unless there are professional tutors available to coach and mentor specialised skills, schools like this cannot foster advanced and focused knowledge. To have all the skills under one roof is known as a university - they already exist.
So is this guys school just for elementary skills? I have nothing against that, I'm just curious about how he would foster specialist skills.
in the video he said they had a student in the early days want to learn Russian. the asked the community and found a Russian speaking person who was willing to teach this student. He also said they do class work too, but what he is saying is that the 3 R's (Reading Writing and Arithmetic) alone don't cut it in a child's education. Could i suggest you listen to the talk again and try to hear where he mentions the we need a balance or experiential learning. tons of learning happens outside the classroom. you apply the class room in the real world. and mainstream "schools" just dont do that very well.
I think the extra emphasis on the creative in this interview is to get the point through that creativity is important too.
It's a bit redundant to mention reading and writing and what have you in most education systems, because their place in the curriculum is obviously in place. He wanted to give spotlight to other skills that are also important.

That is why millions of youths have no jobs and their parents who worked for the past forty years have nothing to show after most of their lives were turned upside down by these same educators WORLDWIDE who educate under harsh mantels only for you to work to their growing wealthy advantages. Do you really see jobs for youths in the future. Laborers would be more valuable in the next decade than academics. Spirituality or holistic would become more valuable than Science and to this day education cannot assist in feeding the millions of hungry and displaced worldwide ; neither is it saving the thousands of SOLDIERS who are dying worldwide. This is why we cannot and do not know how to help ourselves to survive what is coming next...GLOBAL LOCKDOWN..Do you think the educators care about FLESH well as you said ENGINES which is what these same educators are transforming the NATURAL PERSON (S) into. Sounds like madness does`nt it. The great era of education as "You" now know it is fast becoming a thing of the past.
