Hi, I am having a bit of a problem doing this mod. While I have the two save files on my FatX usb drive when i insert it into the xbox, they do no appear! the usb drive shows up but not the two files? The only thing i notice different from all the videos i watched is I do not have the XBOX Live menu option in the xbox menu. Is my firmware too old that it is missing this? Manufacture date is 8/2002.....I purchased this from a thrift store and it hasn't been opened.

Hi, already this before, but my HDD is done. Now I can't run console because don't start without a HDD. You have any solution for softmod without Splinter Cell?
I had the exact same thing happen when I tried with another flash drive I bought. It was recognized and formatted by the Xbox, then I could transfer stuff with Xplorer360, but it would show up empty when I went back to the Xbox. All the answers I could find basically said that my flash drive was incompatible and to try another one. :-(
To my knowledge, there's not a way to use the default anymore unless you completely uninstall the soft mod, but I believe there are some custom dashboards that look close to the original dash.
I've tried the 007 Agent Under Fire and upon loading the save file I get error 21 every time. Now, I'm trying to load the splinter cell save and it gets stuck at the checkpoint window upon trying to load the save. I don't know what to do and I am about to throw in the towel. Anyone have any suggestions?

My first question would be if you've also loaded the Softmod package onto the drive as well as the save. Other than that, I'm not sure. I would suggest asking on the r/originalxbox subreddit. They might be able to help you out.
My Xbox 1.6 was softmodded and I somehow messed up the installation and screen stops at Xbox Logo then goes black and then absolutely nothing but darkness like my soul when I realized I bricked it. Is there a way to fix this??? I cannot access it by FTP anymore and seems to not be reading discs. Light on Xbox is steady Orange no blink.
Get yourself a copy of the Rocky5 extras disc and boot the Xbox with it inside. It should take you to the soft mod menu, from which you will be able to FTP a again. It will also allow you to fix your issue, granted you remember what you did to mess it up. Worst case scenario, just use the disc to remove the soft mod and start over. Happy to try and help you figure it out.

But when i put the extras disc in i get a glitchy screen then it proms me to upgrade the bios. i do so as i cannot accesses the content on the extras disc, when it finishes i am greeted with a blank screen and a red light on my Xbox. unsure why, any ideas please. but super video.
So this happened to me after upgrading with the extras disc. Most of the content on the disc didn't show including the upgrade old soft mods option on the disc. I used the disc's file explorer, thankfully that is accessible, and searched the D drive for something to the effect of othersoftmod.xbe (I don't remember exactly) It runs the upgrade old softmod tool. When it auto restarts I too was greeted with a black screen and red ring. Here's what worked for me. You can boot from the extras disc, by turning the xbox on while the disc is in the drive. If that doesn't work try holding the back button on your controller when you power on. Go to dashboards then install dashboard unleashx to E or F. It prompts you to remove the dash in other partitions in order to boot from unleashx, do it. once it's done you can pop the disc out and restart your xbox. It should boot to unleashx. I messed up while trying to resolve this and somehow ended up with dashboards and directories on my c partition and I couldn't get my xbox to boot to unleashx anymore. I had to use the disc again and restart fresh. My advice for people without a deep understanding of how these mods work, get your dashboard installed. unleashx is pretty useful. Install any other dashboards from the disc as applications to f partition (if that's where you have room). Give XBMC4Gamers and XBMCEmustation a try. Rocky5 is a legend!

Great video. Can I paypal you $25 and send xbox so you can do this ? My older brother is overseas in marines and he would love this as gift as he gets back, thats why I bought xbox. I dont see launch dvd or pc games like other mods 🤔
@@Dikwili i don't have xbox to usb cable, no programs or time do it nor the know how to finish unleash x mod (the guy rip off my brother in military xbox by half ass mod it sent it back) I just want softmod with few emulators games and can play xbox dvdr games before he gets back xmas, nothing fancy.
@@rustymixer2886 I'm sorry to hear that. I modded several of these about 10 years ago so I have all the needed materials. I'm about to attempt an upgrade from SID to Rocky5. I've seen a few posts about people bricking their xboxes but I'm guessing they didnt do something correctly.
In retrospect, what on Earth were Microsoft thinking back when they made these things? All consoles should have had this HD feature. This was a terrible marketing move.

Will this work on a PAL system. Since you do have an NTSC xbox. So will it work?
so ive tried injecting files multiple times and nothing shows up on the xbox at all any advice

@@LastHeartGames every time I save files to the drive and move it back to the Xbox, it formats the drive again. I’m stuck in a vicious cycle lol

I'm getting frustrated because I downloaded the extras disc and I really want that wrestlemania 21 mod and there's no game mods display for me

I'm not sure if bricked consoles can be saved or not. I would suggest posting on r/originalxbox. They might be able to give you some more guidance.

Sorry, but I don't have time to do some of these mods and such for others. This is just a hobby for me and I don't have the spare time.
