Further to the video: check the 'overflow' pipe outside the house hasn't frozen up. If it has, pour a kettle of hot water over the pipe. then follow the video. It solved my problems.
Next home grown engineer I'm glad for video like this. You show to others how quick kill there boiler's . Foult is shown as boiler need attention on same error code can be electrode, can be foult wire, can be condens . But keep pushing reset 🤣 button that will help you change boiler
But when you have 4 different service people come out and they all tell you the other guy didn't do what he was supposed to do (and you check the manual and know at least one of them didn't perform maintenance that is called for in the manual) - you have to wonder why the company doesn't do a better job of making sure their service people are properly trained and paid well enough that they're not selling bullshit non-solutions. That unit looks EXACTLY like ours, and I'd tell you the brand, but it's their fucking customer service arm that's shitty; not their technology. The guy who INSTALLED it threw up his arms and said he couldn't figure out the problem. The next guy who supposedly fixed the problem (and said the first guy conned us) was nowhere to be found when it happened again. Another guy wanted to install a new drainage system - nothing to do with the issue. And the fourth guy hasn't visited yet, but whenever I call him he asks me to stand on my elbow and rotate three times, and by golly, that and hitting the reset button... My notion is there are too few intelligent, honest repair people.
Thank you, this fixed my issue. I had tried to push the reset button but not for long enough, plus I didn't turn it off and on again. Ours doesn't have the digital display but your fix worked for us. Thanks again.
I am in complete shock that this video has got the amount of attention it has. Yes you have reset the boiler but you didn’t fix anything? The fault is still there obviously intermittently. You reset the boiler ( you didn’t need to switch the boiler off and on again)
Thank you so much, I thought I was going to be stuck for the whole weekend without hot water and after followng your instructions a few minutes later and it's working!
Basically, the boiler hums when powered on and then the EA code appears, previously this happened I poured hot water onto the condenser pipe a number of times to loosen the ice in the pipe. It is a pipe that connects from the boiler and protrudes out through the external wall, exposed to the elements. Condensation from the boiler expels through this pipe, hence if blocked the boiler will not function.
My boiler just has a flashing number, not red. I've tried your method and it doesn't work Idk how to explain, it just flashes whatever number it's on and flashes a kinda like a cross sign or a minus sign with an extra line. It doesn't change colour. The temperature keeps going up or down, but heaters doesn't work. By the time u read this, I would've already had to call someone I guess this is pointless
This doesn't fix the fault it just resets the boiler then the fault will persist. I called our boiler support team and it was the pressure with ours (might not be the same for everyone but may help). There will be a dial on the front and if the hand is below 1 then the water pressure is low. Underneath the boiler there should be a white or blue little leaver, if you pull that down and hold this will increase the pressure. Do this until the hand is pointing between the 1 and 2. As I said this might not work for everyone, but it worked for us and saved an engineers visit!
I gave the same boiler , it gives hot water only sometimes…i don t understand why. The boiler is set for all day heat and hot water and still not working. Tried resetting switching onnand off ..NO!
It looks like our unit, which is on-demand hot water (there's no timer for hot water; it always fires up unless it's completely turned off or in holiday mode).
re set light flashing. i try to reset but going off in 5 seconds and flash reset light. Also blue light is off and not show any light . some times slow fleshing and go off No hot water from boiler.

I have a feeling ours is related to poor / fluctuating gas supply and the regulator not keeping it as constant as it should. Doesn't freeze here, but it gets cold.
hi got Worcester one l found it was eating my gas with the green bottom so l turned the green bottom of now and now l am using half of what l was putting in
with E9 error code ( in my case) the exhaust-pipe for the burned gas ( or chimney) was filled with water. How , I have no idea. It was just provisory installed last Saturday ( by "professionals" my ar$$e) , and this night I came home : no heating no warm water. . I noticed that each time I did reset the boiler , the exhaust pipe would bounce with noise, and the boiler gave again error E9. Thus I released the exhaust pipe , and let the accumulated water out. Now is OK again. Hope it helps.

The EA fault code applies to numerous faults, some don't reset other's can be short term only, but there's always an issue requiring investigation.
Thank you so much for this video!!!! Literally saved me and my friends tonight at our airbnb rented house when our boiler was having the same problem.

Condensation pip which is usually is plastic pip was frozen , putting some hot water has fixed the issue.

Thanks, very very helpful, we topped up water before as it was just in the red

What's button top left for aboveflame button
how do I pressurize the boiler, I opened the taps and nothing happens

I like how you criticised the video but obviously have no idea about boilers as you needed an engineer to top yours up 😂
ea is a starting of the engine failure,
missing gas or the heat exchanger is dirty
I've had the same issue, just resetting the thing is enough, turning it off and on again has not been needed.
Fueste el único que me solucionó fácil .gracias
Tfw no flame established after restarting and stuff multiple times... I require shower :(
Great job👎👎. Can you please do a video on how to turn the lights on in a dark room?
It didn't work with mine. Just for a minute or two then the fault returns.
i have your same boiler, i did the same thinks as you but is not working

Yeah alright Einstein switching it on and off doesn't diagnose an apparent fault?
Philip Kearney thats only a short temp fix its the circuit board issue
Philip Kearney it does, just resets pub, but don’t turn off mains power. Ie had many of these already
Thank you!

I'm on top floor , my pipe is outside 3 stories up , help !!!
less than 1,5 bar pressure can cause that error
Not technically a fix but a reset

Hi my boiler (same make) came up with ea fault and wouldn’t fire up it turned out to be a frozen condenser pipe when cleared it started up again👍
How did u clear pls as I am having problem too..Thanks

Fatima Gigi thanks so much just did this and my boiler is working now

It is not working
Hot an A4 code error
Thank you very much
Worked great cheers

really !
hi got Worcester one l found it was eating my gas with the green bottom so l turned the green bottom of now and now l am using half of what l was putting in
The ECO button. Economy. If not in ECO mode it will pre heat water so you wait less time for the hot to come through, but this uses more gas.

I've got the same problem. How do you release the exhaust pipe? Where is it?
Thnx.. worked for me))
Excellent I now have hot water :)
