I love how she expressed the language of artists...she has a very captivating personality and her sketches are free and flowy....love them
Karla has a really positive energy about her, the world needs much more of that. Lots of helpful little insights and thoughts laid out here, thank you!
when these artists start sketching
i sketch along side them lol like i'm with them sketching
So true brother...so true...
she is just like me frfr
Karla Ortiz: The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the host
. NOW I AM THE MASTER!
"I still draw because I am still a 5 year old inside"
Very true. I simply keep on drawing because I want to see the world the way I see it when I was a 5 year old
I wish I still had the imagination of my five year old self
Karla, 8 seconds into the video: hihihihihi. Love it :D
At last, we get the chance to see Karla's sketchbook!
and her skin pores
1 inch in focus at a time
RandalfElVikingo wtf
God this is by far one of my favourite episodess, along with Scott Eaton's because in these episodes we can understand really well what the sketchbook means to them and why they use it, which to me is far more interesting than what is on the sketchbooks themselves
The videos are great and all, but the editor needs to just calm down.
Agree, not enough sketchbook coverage here, I bet most viewers come to see how these artist draw in the first place
😂😂 true
What an introspective soul, explorer of life. This was one of the best interviews I've seen so far. I love this deep connection with the sketchbook as a part of life. Hope the camera can stay on the pages more.
I put dates in my sketchbook because I've looked back at my drawings when I was a child and for the most part it was hard for me to pinpoint exactly not just what I was drawing, but also why I was drawing something. Personally I find that it helps me not just organize my old artwork in a chronological order, but it helps me give context to what were my intentions as well as who I was during that point. It's also interesting see a shift of how my art style has evolved overtime. Not to mention that your memory will deteriorate overtime, so your not going to remember everything.
Its the giggle empress herself 😍
is shes the one who always giggles on the background of this series ?
Every adult who doesn’t draw, was once a child making their last drawing.
I also like to use a sketchbook when I go out. It is very convenient. If I am at home, I also use a separate watercolor paper, depending on the conditions. Thank you for sharing! 👍!
I'm totally in line with all Karla's statements about drawing. That was a blast to watch and to listen. This video refilled me totally. As freelance artist I really felt encouraged and motivated by this sketchbook moment. Thanks!
I actually don’t care about art, I’m just here for the extreme close ups of Karla’s pores
I hate how often people complain about that, if you dont like it then go on a look for others interviews, where the style may be different, but in every channel or series theres always a shot of the artist so it isnt so bland and repetitive it gives some dynamism to the video; see proko’s or others that do virtually the same
@@danielaldaba9749 you hate that people complain, that's your problem tho.
I just wanted to see her in an interview from the sketch book series and for the first time I didn't care about the camera operator. Nice, Karla, you have pretty nice presence ⟵๑
watching these videos is always somehow exactly what I need to hear as an artist & I always find myself feeling connected to other artists and inspired to keep trying after watching one of these sketchbook videos
Yessss, I have been waiting for this! Thank you! :D
I can put a face on the cute giggles now
So Awesome to see the same exact way to use a sketchbook. Make me feel less weird :D
Thanos!!! 😂😅😅
@@asfandyaralam7180 jooooo 😂😂😂😂😂
THE MOMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
Extreme close ups on Karla
Thank You Karla!
You are one of my favorite artists, not just because of your art but because of your words and personality!
Hopefully I can meet you someday in Person
A cool video with another lovely artist yet again. Can't wait for the next one ☺️
Me gusta la personalidad de esta artista es muy linda y dibuja con el corazón !!!
Her drawings are SO BEAUTIFUL like wtf
honestly i got bored of the complex Kim Jung Gi after a while, i like his simpler stuff, not only his but generally, maybe the giant busy drawings are good for the esports gamers who pass by and see like a cool detailed drawing, but i strive for representing something realistically in as few lines as possible
@E A probably, though my drawing is mostly inspired by Kopinski i love the style of, if you'd imagine you apply a posterization filter so that you're left with a couple shadow shapes that look realistic
@E A Many old masters go over their lines, it's not something bad. Look at alphonse mucha drawings for instance or even Steve Huston. Damn, even Raphael and Da Vinci went over their lines and a whole lot of other painters like Sargent or Zorn, you can see it in their drawings. The thought of "less lines = good" it's flawed, it just makes the drawing stiff and lifeless because they're so scared of messing up. I wouldn't say that Jung Gi technique is flawless, he covers his mistakes all the time and mess up perspectives. Is that bad? not at all, he's good at what he does and his followers likes it... but he's not flawless. Nobody is.
I like some of the Simpler stuff to You should trade checking out some of Frank frezeta rough works or his sketches Enjoy as simple but how complex some of them are at the same time it’s weird
Lol..that curious flower! :) By the way great artist and awesome person! Karla Rocks!!
Thank you for sharing your ways of seeing the world ❤️❤️
I am so puzzled right now. Your sketches are so simple and minimalists compared to your final artworks we can find on your website. I mean, what’s happening in between your rough sketches and final masterpieces ??? It’s a mystery 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Prolly hard earned skill gained over years.
She sounds like she's reciting a poem she wrote about her sketchbooks.
Yea....the occasional peppering of pretentiousness
I fell in love, she has such captivating personality 😍
Encantado de conocer a todos vosotros(ilustradores) Y agradecer al canal por tantas molestias por dar a conocer ilustradores tan buenos...
YES, Finally Karla Ortiz turn!
Please interview more women, these are fantastically inspiring
Thank you Karla! I'm glad you got your turn in front of the camera!
On the first page of a new sketchbook, I write, “This page intentionally left blank”.
Wait why is there no giggling in the background?
its because she was the giggler
I wanted this to be a continuous loop of her laughing, nothing else.
Karla Ortiz is my spirit animal
why did you remove the kim jung gi episode?
awesome! lovely the depth of it!
Karla Ortiz meets Oarla Kortiz
is this the karla on the iain mccaig episode? the one with the crazy karla hair?? does she do the interviews??
I feel the exact way about History!!! I used to be so bored at school, but now I'm fascinated by it! I always thought I was just a bad student, but the way it was taught must have some responsibility....!
i could've listened to her whole night if this video was ten hours long
Yessssssssssssssss
Beautiful interviews!
Great video. Didn’t care of the creepy super close ups of her face. Zoom out a little bit. 😂👏🏼
What pen do you use? XD
Now everyone can see THE GIGGLE.
Holy hell, you’ve jacked it again. If you need someone to edit your videos, send your files to me, I’ll do it for free! Stop torturing us!
Please tell me they contacted you ..I can't take it anymore
Sketchbook series but almost 70% contains close up view of artists faces. and cant even clearly see some of the sketchbooks contents
muy interesante, me encantaç
The description forgot to mention her wonderful MtG card art: gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?output=spoiler&method=visual&action=advanced&artist=+%5b%22Karla+Ortiz%22%5d
She's awesome!
Now karla gotta laugh all alone
1 of the best 😁
This series is like Omakase version of Eaters on youtube, love it.
What a cool name :D
Step away from the zoom with your hands up! You're wanted for crimes against watchability
I just imagined her giggling in response of her own observations...
Why did the editor went all out with zooming and moving around. Just shows Karla's face wtf! Half face, half wall wtf is this shit?
Finally
I know it’s a artistic style but why do you have to zoom in so close to the artists face? It’s annoying.
Because it makes it personal. You absorb details of a person that u can only pick up in you get a chance to be that close . It’s not just about what they’re drawing.
wow pp drawing :0 very inspiring
i love you karla ortiz :)
Es una pena que si es el caso y sabrías hablar castellano no tengas algunos videos en ese idioma. Con todo el respeto.
Ladies and gentlemen, the woman behind the curtain!
AHA IT ALL COMES FULL CIRCLE
this woman is latina or spanish ?
DOES THIS CHANNEL EVEN READ COMMENTS?...
Ada shipping to México pls
I always dream about being with a woman like this
Can you stop with close up cinematography ?
new susscriber¡¡'¡'ggod chanel..,..,gretings from argentina¡'¡'
She looks like Lylia from Mobile Legends
Whats the point of the blurred hand shot? And all the close up face shots? Come on, no one cares.. we want to see the art
close up face framing irritates me and there is not enough sketch video.
Aaah yes gimme them pores
More PORES
hell gimme some cells too
Please, do some calmer and less invasive camera work...

My dream woman ❤️
oh man this close ups are such a pleassure. Art? who cares.
Oh how the turn tables!
Great vids but Omg dude. JUST SHOW THE SKETCHBOOK, NOT THE PERSONS LIPS AND SHOULDERS.
In the description it says "Roguse One: A Starwars Story."
Love IT!!!!! I Had to pick up my sketchbook and start drawing along!!!! Thank you guys
Awesome. Thank you.
Karla is my favorite artist rn. I have one of her works as my desktop background :D. I'm so glad we got this episode
