I had an annual pass in 2016 and my jaw stopped when I first laid eyes on the beautiful replica of independence hall. I never knew it existed! Knotts berry farm is the best and its so underrated!
"If only there was somewhere I could parch my thirst." It's Southern California in July. Just stand out in the sun, you'll be _parched_ in no time. The saloon? It'll only _quench_ your thirst. No use going there! ;)
P.S. - ln my ramblings below I forgot to tell you how great your video is. Keep up the great thing you got goin' and let us see more. I really like that you are taking the time to show the historical background of the places you visit. Happy Trails...
I enjoy the History behind Knott's Berry Farm Justin. All videos such as these help me to appreciate where I grew up and slightly long for the nostalgia of the Knott's I knew years ago. Thanks Bro!
We just went this week for the first time in a few years. All the new ghost town improvements are fantastic. The interactive characters, going inside the "houses," being able to play cards with the sheriff were all so much fun. We used to skip ghost town and now we spent most of our time there!
I joined a Knotts Vintage facebook page and people are posting old photos. Some from Jungle Island too. You might want to check it out. Catawampus lives!😁
Thank you so much Justin!! This was awesome 👏🏼 ALL your hard work, research and delivery efforts are always top notch !! Great job every time 🏆 Hope you’re feeling better/well amigo 😘 !!
Justin this video is awesome! Not been able to visit Knott's in a while so love, love this video! Keep sharing! Positive thoughts and prayers for dealing with your personal things! Thanks for sharing!
I think last time I had Chicken Dinner it was about $12.00. I also have a collection of Knott's menus and brochures from the Church (With the glow-in-the-dark Jesus). I remember the wood squirt toys and others at the lake. Hardly anyone knew about them and it was so fun over there. I think we went to Independence Hall for the bicentennial in 1976 with our school.
Growing up near Knott’s we would go to that area a ton. It was jungle island and we ran around like crazy while my mom would just sit and read a book❤️. Good times I wish that was still there.
Justin great video bro👍🏽 I grew up in Orange County but have lived in the Orlando Fl area for 9 years, I love watching your videos because it’s a little part of home. Thanks brother😎👍🏽
I actually went to knotts once with my cousins and we got caught up in the story and did the whole thing! I was the main character which was amazing. It was a whole adventure. Every one started going with us and sooner or later, everyone knew my name! It took up most of our day but it was still awesome!
awesome Catawampus adventures... May the force be strong (it is) with your next few months. You work so hard and bring so much joy to so many... Oh my gosh the end was so funny. Always Aloha \!!!/
Thank You, for this video. I remember an old fashioned car ride with track going near that old brick building, perhaps right near Beach Blvd.?. And the boat, the little train going around the water lake, I think where the water park is now... Wish there was better photos and info for all of that. I also remember a lot more, (chicken before huge prices) and the schoolhouse, with a live chicken that would play the piano for a penny. !! My mom used to take me there to see the Lennon Sisters as a kid.. and also Disneyland... What an experience as a kid, I am glad I had.
Hey Justin, another great video! About the bargain chicken dinner: $2 in 1950 is the equivalent of about $21 today after adjusting for inflation, so you didn’t miss out on *that* much of an amazing bargain.
Awesome video! Very entertaining. You should do some Steinbeck videos since he has so much history in California, not to mention, best author of all time.
Hey Justin - Disney Mansion Bullet Guy again.....Just a little history....As a child of the 50's, nuclear war was always on everyone's mind. We never had earthquake drills in school, but instead, we had Duck and Cover drills where they would set off and alarm and wherever we were, on the playground, in the classroom, in the Principal's Office, we had to Duck underneath furniture and Cover our head and neck to protect us from a nuclear blast.....In those days, the underpass in the beginning of your video was a designated Civil Defense Fallout Shelter complete with the CD triple-inverted pyramid logo printed on either entry to the underpass. So as you parked on that side and walked under Highway 39 (Beach Blvd.) you were reminded of the imminent threat those Commie scum were.... which takes me to The John Birch Society which held its meetings at Independence Hall. At the time, the JBS was a conservative, anti-Communist, advocacy group that also pushed for limited government. Walter Knott was not only a member, but he sponsored the JBS unit in Orange County. In those days all the school kids could go on tour and, along with all visitors, receive free anti-Communist pamphlets. Walter was a very patriotic individual who believed in the American Dream. Also, in the Knott's Lagoon area, which was separate from the the main property, and on the east side of Beach Blvd., was the Cordelia K., a side-paddlewheeler steamboat named after Mrs. Knott. They had a lagoon that it went around in and a small train ride. In the 70's they added Jungle Island - The world of woodimals. Food for thought.
We can't wait go Knotts. I went in 96 with my brother and watched a show which told a story of an Indian and he vanished turning into a flurry of butterflies. We were mezmerized. Is that still showing ? We'll be there end of August with all the family. Does Ghost Town Alive run each day ?
Wow better stuff to get .it's about time someone Care's about Knott's . thank you man have a great day 😎 .darn you made me want a drink ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Adjusted for inflation, the price of the classic chicken dinner hasn't really changed much at all over time. Which in and of itself is pretty cool, really.
Good morning 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Screaming, or ringing the door bell, people getting kidnapped even a crow or rooster ect. Wakes me up and get involved . Not so hard . Very good actors .
you missed a realy cool thing to check out. its washington's replaca of his kitchen fifeplace, and his gun along with a mill stone thaat belonged to knotts family. its located right by the bathrooms behind the berry store you where in.

Many many happy memories at Knotts.
LoL “These pretzels are making me thirsty.” 🤣
It's good to know there are still them parks that don't have a bunch of big name characters all over it! I hear good things about this place!

I had a pabst blue ribbon styled knotts shirt for years, but I love their shot glasses/toothpick holders (I have 4 of them)
Love this. Takes me back.
I wonder if they used that Independence Hall for the movie National Treasure? Hmm....🤔
I love the commentary from Bill and pete... good stuff. How come you didnt go tall to the guy in jail? The one who borrowed a horse.
I went to Knotts on a field trip and got wrapped up in Ghost Town alive. Tons of fun, but I spent the whole day in ghost town!
That was excellent!, Thanks, Justin.

For a second there I thought you were on the same trip as Some Jerk with a Camera and crew LOL
Does anyone remember the little red devil that used to activate the volcano? He was located by the exit at the market place.
I've been to the real Independence Hall and it looks pretty accurate.
Did you get the new dole whip there
We were there today. I think it was Cheer leader day they were everywhere.
That was very nice of you not to bring Julio across the street to see the chicken dinner.
Justin, can I pay to have you two come out to WDW in September and film with me?
All these years, I never knew all that was in there....WOW
Good morning 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Screaming, or ringing the door bell, people getting kidnapped even a crow or rooster ect.
Wakes me up and get involved . Not so hard .
Very good actors .
I think Julio would be a little nervous at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
you missed a realy cool thing to check out. its washington's replaca of his kitchen fifeplace, and his gun along with a mill stone thaat belonged to knotts family. its located right by the bathrooms behind the berry store you where in.
