Are Christian Women “Birthing Machines”?

  • Over the past few weeks we have seen protests erupt over college campuses and controversies spark over whether or not Christians should have lots of babies. Christians wring their digital hands on social media and bemoan the fact that these situations are so convoluted that we cannot come to any conclusions. This is a foil, however. In reality, when the church cannot come to conclusions about the issues of our day, it shows that we have lost the criteria to make judgments and decisions. In order to remedy this, we need to recapture the doctrine that God created everything with a purpose in mind, and we need the courage to insist that our nation accomplish these purposes.

    The Teleology of children.
    Psalm 102
    For the Lord builds up Zion;
    he appears in his glory;
    he regards the prayer of the destitute
    and does not despise their prayer.
    Let this be recorded for a generation to come,
    so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord:
    .....
    Of old you laid the foundation of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.
    They will perish, but you will remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
    You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,
    but you are the same, and your years have no end.
    The children of your servants shall dwell secure;
    their offspring shall be established before you.

    Yes! I've been saying this for a long time. This is exactly why it's become so hard to defend the sanctity of sex within marriage between a man and a woman. And it really has become very much embraced by Christians.

    Funny how when the disciples said to Jesus that it is better not to marry, The Lord never said it is commanded to all men and women to be fruitful and multiply and have many many children much less lead with it like many in this post mill neck of Christendom do. He didn't even tell them that it is not good for man to be alone. Marriage (and family) should indeed be held in high regard as is commanded in Hebrews, but we should never go beyond the regard God gives it in his word much less make an idol of it as I fear is starting to happen. Don't forget Marriage is for this life only. We as Jesus's disciples are commanded to go forth and multiply however; by going into all the nations and make disciples. I find the parallel there to be interesting and the true multiplication God seeks from his people now.

    • @nerychristian
      @nerychristian Місяць тому +5

      That's because God already had given the command to Adam and Even, to be fruitful and multiply. And also to Noah. And God had also already said that it is not good that man should be alone. That's why he created Eve. And no one is making an idol of marriage. If that were true, there wouldn't be so many single people in the churches. And I find it funny how you don't complain about people spending at least 12 years of their lives preparing themselves to find a job. But no one says that Christians shouldn't spend time in school because careers are only for this life. But somehow it's wrong for Christians to make an effort to get married, even though families are more important than work

    Fantastic episode here, I appreciate how you men don't hold back in fear of offending any woman or man (except from the God-man). I'm not the Supreme Judge or anything, and I never will be, but I do not doubt that what I see here is unwavering conviction. Definitely gave me a lot to chew on with this episode & I appreciate how Pastor Joel mentions the plethora of stations by every Christian man, woman, or child of all ages, sexes, social classes etc.
    That's definitely true with the Evangelical androgyny pushes also & attempts to blend everyone together into some type of diluted foul smelling paste. Ive also seen suggestions by clergy members to smush all sexes & ethnicities together not just in certain Protestant sects but also Catholic & Orthodox too. Man have we really fallen in the west but I have hope & trust in the Lord. He wants us to be here now & I know have to be better for Him
