Luv 2 luv ya is one of my favorite songs with Magoo & Aaliyah on it, love this was a time & space that can never be duplicated, amazing all this talent was collaborating!!!
Melvin is my uncle. You did your research. I wish my uncle felt more appreciated when he was alive. He hated the entertainment life. No matter what music fans thought of Magoo. No way was he the worst rapper ever. You could put Silkk the Shocker up there, Soulja Boy, Lil B, 6ix9ine and so many other's who deserves that #1 spot for worst rapper. However, Magoo did not deserve that. RIP
Effed with magoo heavy!! One of the most unique voices and a solid lyricist imo. I wish i would've heard more from him. He was relevant at a time you couldn't hear what you wanted when you wanted. Ahead of his time. Rwg
I hope he knew before his death that he had those of us who appreciated his music. My favorite Magoo track is 'Up jump the boogie.' It was his bars that I looked forward to. He was smooth with it and didn't have to come with political hooray. It was go with it energy. It made you feel good. So, his mission was accomplished. The mere fact that he had the same range as Q but found a way to stand out on his own is clever and shows he had skill & talent. Boo to all of those that faulted him for that. smh! I had always wondered what happened to him and was very saddened hearing about his death on SM. Another one, gone too soon. But thank goodness he didn't die broke and unloved. Thanks for dropping this tribute. He deserved it and all the loving words from his listeners. RIP Melvin 'Magoo' Barcliff. (*Aaliah and Static Major*) You all are so missed.

OMG! I LOVE Magoo. Why were people hating on him? I loved their music (Timbaland, Magoo, Missy, Genuwine, Aaliyah). I had always thought he was so humble. So sad when he passed.
Maganooo!!!! Up jumps da boogie stays in heavy rotation it's one of my faves. It's sad Magoo received so much hate you never heard anything bad about him ppl are soooo weird! I got nothing but respect for him staying true RIH 🕊️
Damn, Magoo didn't deserve the disrespect. He was a competent, fun rapper who always understood the assignment and brought the right vibe to any given song. He wasn't wack, his style was just simplistic. He was a dope "role player" rapper, to borrow a sports term. RIP Magoo. You made your mark on Hip Hop man.
This makes me so sad😢 I loved Magoos collaborations with Timbaland. That was a big part of my childhood. Sad to know he didn't get the recognition he deserved in life. He seemed like a kind and gentle soul. RIP to him, he will definitely be missed🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you for this video. It was nostalgic to be reminded about the Basement Crew and everyone involved. The massive levels of talent that emerged from that group is simply amazing. I was shocked to learn of Magoo's story because I absolutely noticed his fallback after Aaliyah passed. I bet he knew a lot more about that situation than many of us. This video is a treasure. Thank you for being objective with your presentation.
Great work as always..Timb and Magoo's collaborations were always freshly unique..Up Jumps the Boogie got played like crazy on the radio . Can you do Jesse Powell??
I'm from VA Beach, and I remember hearing Magoo announcing his retirement from the industry on the radio(103 Jamz ❤). I was soooooo hurt, but I thought he would always come back. I'm glad he left us with timeless music, to never forget him. RIP Maganoo❤.

I’ll never forget Magoo! I remember buying his first CD with Timbaland. Then bought Tim’s Bio cd. His style was one of a kind. Definitely a genuine person from what I know. My condolences to his family and will always be a fan for life!!
The heck! He freaking passed 3 months ago! Lord have mercy. Ma? I adored Timberland and Magoo and Missy heck all of them in up jump the boogie. Had on Repeat and I loved T&M full length cd. God I think I was 12 that had to be like 1997, I’m play the album over and over. only 50 years old barely. Damn heart breaking. So many amazing song writers and performers no longer with us. I feel so bad.
Damn I appreciate this video. Growing up as a kid of the 90’s there whole camp (timbaland magoo missy aaliyah playa and ginuwine)was my favorite! The industry can be a dark place for artist. I always wondered what happened to him. This brought some clarity. May his soul rest peacefully 🕊️
That list was so disrespectful to the late Magoo! The brotha was talented and had the most unique sound. These current artists wish they had 10% of the talent this brotha had! I enjoyed his collaborations through the years when I was in junior high/high school. Much respect to him and may his soul rest easy now!
He didn't deserve to be on the list for the 50, worst rappers, maybe I'm saying that from a fan standpoint but I thought he was a unique voice in the industry and I would have loved to see what became of him, loved and forever missed
I didn't know he passed. In 97 I played the heck out of Love To Love Ya...Magoo was dope in my opinion. I never thought about how he and tip had similar voices til I saw this. I never thought about them in the same space. As for Talib Kwali. He should have kept his mouth shut.
Magoo was so underappreciated in the industry. He was such a talented artist. To this day Indecent Proposal 2002 was one of my most fav albums Timbaland and Magoo did together. RIP❤
It sounds like Magoo had been fighting HARD against depression since his childhood all the way into his adulthood from being a "tortured soul"...RIP in the comforting presence of our Devine Lord and Saviour.
I’m a 48 yr old true Hip-Hop head and I personally think Tim & Magoo just made good music. Their music made millions of people happy & made millions dance.
I'm glad that he reached 50 but NEVER EXPECTED him to pass right after! Of course the video "Up jumps da boogie" was my introduction to him. He wasn't super lyrical AT ALL but he wasn't trying to take himself too seriously which was ok. He was the fun and uplifting type of rapper to me. He was one of the ⚓ s of the Super friends collective! 2023 IS A ROUGH YEAR FOR LEGENDS TO PASS AWAY 😢!! What a loss! Rip Magoo, Aaliyah, Static/Major and Irish Grinstead(of 702)!! Rip to all😔🙏!
This video got my eyes well up, and I’m a grown man. I love Magoo with all my heart. My favourite track of his is Cop That Shit with Timbaland. He killed that track for me. Rest in Power king ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 21 gun salute

They sacrificed that boy read between the lines. R.I.P Magoo
Definitely more to the story but too
Much to say.
I didn't now he passed. I loved his voice, it was different in a good way
Damn I appreciate this video. Growing up as a kid of the 90’s there whole camp (timbaland magoo missy aaliyah playa and ginuwine)was my favorite! The industry can be a dark place for artist. I always wondered what happened to him. This brought some clarity. May his soul rest peacefully 🕊️
I was not aware of his passing. This is so sad. RIP, Magoo. There are too many young people passing. 💔
That list was so disrespectful to the late Magoo! The brotha was talented and had the most unique sound. These current artists wish they had 10% of the talent this brotha had! I enjoyed his collaborations through the years when I was in junior high/high school. Much respect to him and may his soul rest easy now!
RIP Magoo. You gave me jams to dance to and you were different from the rest! 🕊️ thank you! 🙏🏽
🤎🤎💯
He didn't deserve to be on the list for the 50, worst rappers, maybe I'm saying that from a fan standpoint but I thought he was a unique voice in the industry and I would have loved to see what became of him, loved and forever missed
He was actually talented. RIP
I didn't know he passed. In 97 I played the heck out of Love To Love Ya...Magoo was dope in my opinion. I never thought about how he and tip had similar voices til I saw this. I never thought about them in the same space. As for Talib Kwali. He should have kept his mouth shut.
I didn’t even know that G passed smh..humble heart God blessed you and the family
Magoo was so underappreciated in the industry. He was such a talented artist. To this day Indecent Proposal 2002 was one of my most fav albums Timbaland and Magoo did together. RIP❤
Very through documentary. I like how precise you are with all of the dates. Has to be time consuming. I enjoy the content. Thank you.
Man who didn’t love Magoo? He was my favorite out of him and Timbaland 😢
It sounds like Magoo had been fighting HARD against depression since his childhood all the way into his adulthood from being a "tortured soul"...RIP in the comforting presence of our Devine Lord and Saviour.
I found the songs "Up jumps the Boogie " and " Luv 2 luv u" to be pretty catchy. It a shame to lose nice talent too early. RIP to Magoo.
Good work brother. Look at these comments. You got alot of people interested. It's videos like this that help people live on. Thank you.
Magoo was THAT GUY!!! I’m sickened to hear how he was disrespected!
I’m a 48 yr old true Hip-Hop head and I personally think Tim & Magoo just made good music.
Their music made millions of people happy & made millions dance.
Magoo definitely sounded like Q-Tip!
Yes he did thought he was pulling a milli vanilli sounding like Q tip
He may have “sounded like Qtip” to many but it was his real voice 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you for sharing Magoo's story...he was such a talented man.
GOD BLESS your family in this time of bereavement! 🙏🏾💜
You were your OWN star! 💫
Timberland, Missy, Magoo, Ginuwine & Aliyah were my teen years. Such good music and memories ❤
fr fr the😂 best years ever💯
This video got my eyes well up, and I’m a grown man. I love Magoo with all my heart. My favourite track of his is Cop That Shit with Timbaland. He killed that track for me. Rest in Power king ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 21 gun salute
1997 will always be a special year for me. RIP MAGOO!!
