kaso hindi bahay ginagawa at ibinibida ni ser donald, kundi building. cguro kung building ipapagawa ko dito ako manonood. pero kung bahay lang ang gusto ko dun ako sa engineer-blogger na mga bahay na kino-cunstruct nya mismo ang video content. ingenyero tv kelan po kayo gagawa ng bahay?

Kapag mataas ang bahay, gamit na lang ng steeldeck sa mga floors tapos rooftop ay slab para pwede iwaterproofing. O kaya kung ang rooftop mo ay steeldeck, magdadagdag ka ng layer sa ibabaw na pang waterproof sa ibabaw. Okay lang ang rooftop ay steeldeck kung may tiles siguro.

Good day engineer, can you feature a topic on light gauge (cold form) steel frame construction? Kung mas makakamura ba ito sa conventional building. Its strength, convenience and pricing, advantage and disadvantage. Puwede din ba ito magkaroon ng 2nd floor? Come across this info lang at naging curious kung sulit ba ito ipagawa. (In terms of residential built)

Note lang ,make it sure na ma ayos na ang slope ng roof deck mo papuntang drain para walang ponding ng tubig. kaya dapat sa pag lalayout palang ng slab ipa ayos mo na. Maganda kasi e waterproofing mo yong concrete slab mismo hindi ang topping.

Agree po ako sa huwag gagamitan ng sahara 1year palang ung bahay namin kinalawang na at ung sahara gumuguhit sa pader galing sa taas laking problema sakit sa ulo nakailang water proofing na kami huhu nauwi nalang sa bobong mabuti sana kung maliit lang jusko.

Hi engr isa mga major disadvantaage ng steel deck kapag ginamit mo ito sa two way slab. Ang steel deck ay para sa one way slab lang. Kung gagamitan mo ng steel deck ang two slab paano mo ilalagay ang bottom midspan tensile bar perpendicular sa steel deck? Kaya maraming bumuka na steel deck dahil sa cases na ganito.
Yes Sir, steel deck is for one-way slab only. Unless nlng you will use a flat profile tapos butasan mo lahat ng rib to address the positive moment ng slab kaso impractical na masyado.

Kahit anong waterproofing hindi lang sahara na hinahalo sa semento ang ayaw ni Steel deck dahil kakalawangin sya dahil sa may chemical na ginagamit si waterproofing na nakaka sira ng steel deck. kaya dapat mag waterproofing ka pag nabuhusan mo na.

Engr gd day. One downside with roof decking ay ang kalawang for I know ang slab is secreting moisture. In one building I have seen ang kalawang start sa gilid until it runs all over. This is not roof top but on the second floor

Hi Engineer! I am watching your vlog about a comparison between using steel deck and conventional slab which ever having less cost considering time and labor cost. You said that using steel deck the bottom bars of the conventional is only replaced by steel deck. Now, as show on the video the installation of the steel deck must be placed on the top of the beam having bearing minimum 40mm instead of having it welded on the steel bars on side of the beam . So how could you place the steel deck on the top of the beam with a minimum bearing of 40mm as you mentioned when the thickness of the slab is a part of the depth of the beam . I am right ? So if you place the steel deck on top of the beam reinforcement you are increasing the thickness of the slab as well as the effective depth of the beam ? So you are increasing the cost of the construction . My recommendation is , to avoid cost implication and also with respect to the integrity of the construction , its better to provide corvel to side of the beam in both sides for steel deck bearing purposes ( bottom level of thecorvel depending on the thickness of the slab) of steel deck with out increasing the thickness of the slab. I hope you get what I mean and please consider that this is my interpretations as per your detail explanations and the video it self. Please dont be offended we are only changing ideas as we belong to the same profession as C.E. my name is Fredy Icao
He meant to embed the metal deck 40mm after the side forms (inside the beam) instead of it flashed along the side forms/plywood/phenolic.
If you check the section of installation, the metal deck is placed on top of the plywood, with its edge/corner flashed. So once you remove the side form, the metal deck's edge is not supported by anything whatsover, but simply hanging from the slab soffit. To avoid this, you must embed the metal deck deeper by 40mm, so that once you remove the side forms, the metal deck is supported by the beam itself. Not sure with 40mm though, some manufacturers have it at 20mm only.

1. If mywater leak. Hindi agad mo matetrace kung saan nang galing ang tubig. Kasi gumagapang yun sa steel deck
2. Dahil manipis ang slab. Mas malakas ang vibration.. commonly nagcocost ng pagtuklap nf floor tiles.
Also engr. For your future vlog. Can you give tips on preparing estimate format showcasing masterformat 2010 bill of materials/quantities for 2 storey or single storey resi.
Many estimates i encountered where not studied properly. Sometimes they forgot to include overheads, permits, equipment rentals without analyzing or doing unit price analysis method or technique. Thank you Godbless.

Para saaking paningin naman po ay mas matibay parin ang sinasabi niyo na conventional basta tama lahat ng timpla sa semento at dami ng bakal. Basta tama ang pagkakagawa. Kasi yong steel dk ay mas manipis at nakalabas pa yong bakal. Kakalawangin at hindi napapansin ng marami ang pagkakaiba kung sa tibay at tagal ng pasilidad kasi halos patay na ang mga nagtayo ng bahay o building bago ito masira. Wala na sila at hindi na nila maikokompara pa kong alin ang masmatibay. Kaya mas sigurado ako na masmatibay parin ang conventional o gumagamit ng flywood na pormas. At tsaka pwede naman gamitin ulit yong flywood na pormas kung hindi pa sira at matibay pa.... Yon namang steel dk mas manipis na nga mas maigsi pa ang waranti o mas madaling masira. At kapag ito ay masira, ang sisisihin ay ang gumawa o mga taong nagtayo. Tapos isisi din nila sa producer ng steel dk o ng supplier ng steel dk. Kaya pag tinipid ang materiales, tipid din ang waranty ng stablishment.
Hindi rin. Gaya ng sinabi ni Engr. Kung nasa tamang procedure yung pag gamit ng steeldeck tatagal at tatagal talaga yan. Main advantage talaga is makakatipid ka sa gastos ng materials at labor cost. Halos karamihan na ngayon sa mga residential at commercial buldings steeldeck na talaga ang ginagamit.
The problem with steel deck is you have to add up ceiling everytime you use it since you need to cover the corrugation of the steel deck under ..

is the metal deck use to replace the conventional temporary formwork or is mostly considered integral with the rc deck as composite lifetime ? Considering stress free options for the young owners turning to get older or veterans, lifetime less maintenance on permanent structure would be recommendable i guess, no offense :)

To minimize vibrations in steel deck, increase the thickness.

Don't increase concrete slab fill thickness to minimize vibration, reduce deck span support instead. Composite steel deck have specific max/min thickness of concrete and max allowable span/load depending on the ga. thk./cross section type.
Im not an engineer but wouldnt you have to reinforce or increase thickness of pillars or beams to support the added weight?
