( IF YOU CANT SEE THE SHADING) For everyone else like me who didnt catch this, you need to have the "Interactive render region" on in order to view the Cel shading changes you are making.
+daniel mattos Thanks Daniel! Yep, the viewport view without rendering doesn't give a good representation of what your object will look like, hence why I always work with Interactive Render Region on while working with Sketch & Toon!
Thanks so much for motivational words in the end of the tut...but let me tell you it's hard for me...I feel as I'll never be able to create something good. But your encouragement is really nice to hear. Thanks.
The Lumas shader is pretty good, but the problem is that you can't stop the camera from being a light source and affecting the shader. It's super annoying that every time I try to render something, there's always this one weird lighted spot on the object. I don't know how to stop the camera from emitting light.
hi, i am wondering if i am creating an object in another program and then put it in cinema 4d with the texture can be manipulated it to look cell shading on the texture its already got? the object I am having is obj with a texture which covers the object with different stuff
I am having an issue. My lights are not affecting the object. Lights is checked instead of camera, I tried many types of light and no, the lights i not in the center of the object I tried moving them and rotating them all over. Any ideas? Oh, and camera shading works. Is the lights one that doesnt give a damn
New to 3D and this software. I really appreciate the effort going into these videos, im learning a lot! One thing that troubles me is how your models are so crisp and clean. When i do it, it's very pixelated, blurry, and down-right unattractive. What can i do to resolve this?
When you render (and I cover this is some videos) you want to render out with the Sinc Filter in the Anti-Aliasing Tab, this prevents the blurred edges and makes them nice and crisp!
I can't find an "interpelation" setting in my gradient window. It just says gradient, then below it isn't showing anything like your window, then says physical. What's going on?
hello EJ how to overshoot scale animate in Cinema 4D R20? the menu of effectors and values are changed! I can't find your teaches on my software thank you
Hi Mister ... Im not a C4D player but I've been watching your videos from 2 weeks trying to use and apply similar techniques with familiar Autodesk Maya tools .. The problem is that there is dozens of techniques which i couldn't do in maya its actually in C4D like 2d motion graphics and other stroke animation .. Feeling disappointed .. Any advice ? Thank you in advance.
Thanks, islam! :) I have a bunch of tutorials that is compatible with the free version, be sure to check out my free C4D Lite training series too: eyedesyn.com/cinema4d-lite
Your videos are dissapointing for me. Because you didn’t show how to create this design with outline in the beginning when I was searching for tutorial on youtube.

I don't know you but I love you! This tutorial has opened my eyes! :D
I feel the love! Thanks for watching Andriana! Hope this gets you playin inside of C4D more often! :)

I cover this in the video, you just need to uncheck Camera from the light sources in the cel shader and just use Lights
splendid as always!
Thanks very much for watching!
What are the camera settings? almost seems isometric, I like it.
its using a parallel camera so it is isometric! :)

Hi there! So the only way to change the cel shader texture would be doing it in C4D, AE doesn't allow for that type of thing. Hope that helps!
I know I'm a bit late to be commenting on this, but how do you get those streaks going across the screen? Can't for the life of me figure it out.

Make sure you're seeing that little triangle that you twirl down to get those other options.

the menu of effectors and values are changed!
I can't find your teaches on my software
thank you
you can find it in the Remapping tab > Contour Dropdown > and choose contour > Curve
how do you make the objects??
what version of cinema you are using in this video?
cool!

Buy Cinema 4D if you want to do the things it does and concepts I'm teaching! Plain and simple! :)
eyedesyn thank you for your prompt respond ... I think its not hard to learn C4D with your videos :) .. I'll start using a free C4D version :)

I make exactly what is in the youtube thumbnail. This tutorial doesn't say it's going to show to to add outlines at all...
