- I can't believe how different this old baritone looks after I silver polished it. This horn was made by the boston musical instruments company, which according to Wikepedia was shut down in 1928... So even though I don't know how old this Baritone is, we know its really old...
God bless you man!!
Patience at its highest level
I do something like this, but was a gift to mi gf :)
might i suggest when this process is done with, try wrights silver polish cream, its supposed to be used with utensils but works great on this too
I recently bought a vintage trombone from the same era that also has the same kind of matte silver look on outside. I guess it was a thing of the time period
Use some Hagerty's spray polish- it turned an old Stradivarius trumpet and literally made it look like new. Good luck!
I know, it just works SO WELL.
@Noah McAdams Not unless it's silver plated. If you use Hagerty's on a brass instrument it will ruin the horn. Only use Hagerty's on silver plated instruments.
This was cool. It actually looked pretty charming in the first place. Funny thing that people pay all kinds of extra money for "relic" and "vintage" finishes on instruments now.
Awesome 🥰
Ball State uses silver polish on our horns. Makes them look nice and shiny for performance.
Profound
hello, I want to ask you how I can get the polishing paste to get my instrument that shine again, it's a tenorhorn
Don't put the polish or instrument with polish on your bed! 😅😅😅
oops
baking soda, hot water, 10 mins soak, wash off 99% clean
Yeah, I saw a guy in a vid here on UA-cam do a similar thing with an ion exchange method: he wrapped the horn (an old bugle) in aluminum foil, put the horn in a basin of warm water with salt and baking soda, and the sulfur in the silver tarnish recombined with the foil, leaving the horn bright and shiney without polishing.
Very cool!
Please how can get the cream
hi, what about gold plated instruments? can I use this polish cream for Amati golden plated trombone?
I think you could but be careful, gold plating tends to be very thin and you don't want to polish it off. At my shop we use a much finer polish for gold usually. Maybe a gold polish would be better
@@BoneZone thank you, there is Yamaha lacquered polish cream for gold plated, I think it will useful for me
what was the Polish called that you used?
xBloxzorior it's the Yamaha brand silver Polish. It worked really well
ByronAllen Thanks, I've gone through a bunch of polishes and tarnish removers for my contra and i haven't really been getting anywhere.
Yas
My trumpet has rusty dots on its whole body idk how to fix it
what is the solution that you clean the baritone?
What kind of solution did you use?
whats the name of the song?
recolorme I made it on ableton for this video. I guess I didn't really name it. Hope you liked it!
ByronAllen you should release it on your channel!
what did he use?
Will this work on a gold instrument ?
Oh boy... I honestly dont know. The reason I used the polish for this instrument was because silver tarnish can come off pretty easily. I don't know enough about gold to give you an informed answer
BoneZone Music I did an experiment with my gold trumpet and Sure it works it just gives it a slightly differently brighter colour
@@haisan2918 The name of the appliqué you used.
thank you it really helped with my trombone
isnt that an euphonium
Violet Becerra nope a euphonium has a conical bore so basically a flugelhorn but huge and baritone is cylindrical so akin to what a trumpet is obviously both are larger. The valves have nothing to do with it. Some baritones have 4 valves and surprisingly lots of euphonium have only 3 valves. Euphoniums are more common than baritones by a long shot. Baritones are usually only in brass bands like the river city brass band and others.
And yeah I believe it's actually a euphonium but a funky old one lmao
Violet Becerra your dumb
Samantha Fisher Baritones are also commonly used in British concert bands and American marching bands.
The way I differentiate the two is, sadly, the euphonium is... well... thiqqer
I've seen people play a 2/3 better condition then that one. I see playing and that annoys me.
Muito bom
Its not really polished u just removed the tarnish
still looks like trash..go buy a buffing pad amd and us it in a drill
