What he misses to see is that there is no true market and competition around UA-cam.
UA-cam operates at a loss, always did. It only survives due to Google subsidizing it. Therefore allowing it's quality, and with that quality it keeps competitors off and small, for those need to be self-sustaining, which is hardly possible with today's technology. UA-cam has the ability to use endless-money-cheatcodes to operate on a quality level ten years ahead. There is noteworthy competition. It's like the "opposition" parties in Socialism: Small fig leafs to tell yourself and others that it's totally a democracy!
In Germany, we (used to) operate on the belief and principle of law that "Property brings Responsibility". This is not meant in the Socialist moralist meaning that have to do certain things to be political, but that you for one of course have to care for your property (imagine buying a house and just let it fall apart... that would be wrong), and not to abuse the power you gain through that property, especially to harm people.
UA-cam is abusing its power in a moralist and partisan fashion, when due to its size it should be treated as a service and thus held to higher standards (ie of free speech), instead of the blank checks for "it's a company duh, they can throw anyone out!" - nowadays they do that even without any explanation or reason, much less an example what exactly they mean. It's all just vague nonsense because they have personal beef with you, instead of being able to engage with actual evidence or viewpoints. They are intellectually lazy, like all despots.
You want a real market competition? Break UA-cam off from google/alphabet, forbid them to subsidize this giant loss-operating society-influence-&-control-machine.

      British Values
Britain was a construct, created to engender Multiculturalism (the true meaning, not the parallel mono-culturalism we have come to think of, to bring Scotland, Wales and Ireland together with England. The aim to create an atmosphere of inclusion of all the people in Britain. This was extended to all, that does not mean there was no racism.
British values contributed massively (if not totally responsible) for the moral change from the acceptance of slavery to the now (almost) universal condemnation of the institution of slavery. Yes Britain, or individual Britain's got involved heavily in the Atlantic Slave Trade, but it was Britain that created, enacted and enforced the embargo on the Slave Trade. It is Britain that had the end of slavery enacted in the Congress of Vienna.
      ua-cam.com/video/VWrfjUzYvPo/v-deo.html
It is Britain that has taken in displaced and persecuted peoples from Europe (and other places) since the 17th Century. This includes everyone from the Huguenots, to Kinder Transport (Britain was the only country in the world that would take in these children).
The puritans escaped Britain, not simply because they themselves wanted to escape persecution, but more because they didn't necessarily want to be forced to accept or coexist with other religions. As Stephen Fry put it once on QI, they wanted the right to be able to persecute people themselves.

Well, in terms of ethnicity, Irani people could be considered “white”, as genetically they are closer to germanic people and Southern Europeans than to modern day Arabs, for instance. This is the problem with these terms, such as black, brown and white.... they reduce people’s appearance and ethnicity to skin colour which is one of the least indicative traits of someone’s “racial”/ ethnic origin and deep-time genetic makeup. In fact, they are very ignorant and racist terms. Also, there is this confusion of Caucasians and “white”, as well. Anyone is Caucasian from India through Arabia, to Arabic North Africa and Europe. Australian aboriginals are also more closely related to Caucasians than Africans, despite their similar pigmentation... and the list goes on. I think people would be able to see past colours if they were educated on human population history, as well as they were taught to learn someone’s specific heritage instead of matching them to collective colour charts.

Brother Skutnu Historians, anthropologists, linguists and geneticists are paid everywhere in the world to provide an objective picture of the history and origins of the human species and its populations. I don’t think there is anything relative about that... there may be undecided issues, or things they don’t agree on/ unsure about, but I doubt there is a lack of general consensus among countries, as most of these studies are already international and they all follow extremely similar protocols.

As someone who's been in a Communist Party in the third world (the one that split from the other due to their kowtowing to the Soviets, we were working on economic reform and public services to bring down monopolies) I can tell you with full and utter confidence that BLM is not communist in an intelligent way whatsoever. These are teenagers with a limited understanding of the Manifesto and haven't so much as read Das Kapital or any post-Marx analysis of economics. Capitalism can't be killed, I've come to believe, but I still believe in state regulations since proles are just as screwed in the head as their slave drivers. But sorry, these idiots are not communists, they are LARPers, they show zero nuanced understanding of world economic systems, their criticism of the nuclear family is hyperbolic (you can't "abolish" it just like that, joint families need to be brought back as a cultural effort in the end).

      > BLM is not communist in an intelligent way
Is it communist in a stupid way? Its web site was explicitly communist until the recent change to transgenderism, etc. And a BLM cofounder recently interviewed on C-SPAN babbled for so long about her personal problems that I assumed she was hiding her communism and stopped watching.

    • @abalaster9085

@@TeaParty1776 Look at the first chapter of Das Kapital and tell me it's coherent in any way with what they're trying to achieve. Heck, look at Guevara. Communists came in all shapes and sizes, of course, but dividing the working class is suicidal for any socialistic "revolution" or whatever they're playing at now. What the fuck is a "trained Marxist" anyway? I've known a lot of Marxists and none of them went to Marxist boot camp. They don't do Marxist tricks, they don't eat Marxist treats. What you have are kids who think Marxism/Communism is what you are if you're opposed to the way "The Machine" works. If you're making the point that they're using Communist-y revolutionary-ish rhetoric to push an agenda of their own, you may have a point but trust me, they couldn't organise a basic political structure if they tried. I guess political structures are inherently cishetpatriarchowhatever+. Their ideas are based on emotions, not material reality. And socialism is necessarily materialist, or it ceases to make even theoretical sense. And need I add they cancel materialist Marxists for being "class essentialist?" And besides, not all Marxists are communists.

If Dems and Reps knew they could get away with not displaying the flag, then many would stop having it at their rallies. At this point, I truly hate the American flag pins that politicians have felt obligated to wear since 9/11 because it’s a prop. The pins imply patriotism for politicians who don’t behave like patriots. I’m so over it. So many Americans hate America, but you are the one with the problem if you point out that they aren’t obligated to stay here. 8-(. Nobody’s required to live here. I don’t get how that’s so hard to understand in a truly mobile society.

I love Mayher, but have to agree with Konstantin here- although I don’t know what the solution is either- but I agree UA-cam and Google just have too much power today, particularly Google, which I would definitely consider a monopoly. There may be alternatives but in real life Google controls the internet and the flow of information to a frightening degree, and this is now having a big impact as we’ve seen with the recent pandemic craziness. But I also don’t think government regulation is the best option because I wouldn’t want a radical leftist government dictating to big tech either. I consider myself a centrist because I have issues with both sides too.
The solution? I think we all as individuals in a society need to start speaking up and not bending the knee to these crazy minority on Twitter. If all the silent voices took a stand to demand free speech for everyone the big companies might make different choices. But because the loudest angriest most vicious voices are the 2% of radical leftists, they’re controlling the narrative- and everyone else is letting them dictate the whole conversation by staying silent to avoid being targeted themselves.
I think Zuby was right in his recent Triggernometry interview- one of the biggest issues is the majority of sensible reasonable people just want to live their lives and be left alone, which is breeding cowardice and capitulation to the mob. Every government, company and individual person should have denounced the BLM riots, but each was too scared the anger and violence would be turned on them- so they either did nothing or worse, supported it.
Maybe if everyone who supported a truly free society and free speech stopped using Twitter and Facebook tomorrow, the drop in users and activity might convince them to change their policies?

@Pippin Strano Private companies can't just sack people arbitrarily (at least not in the UK they can't) so the concept of arbitration/tribunals can be applied to private companies to ensure that they treat people fairly. Similar to OFGEN and OFCOM who try to make sure that powerful companies treat their customers fairly.

@Pippin Strano Well it can go too far, an employer has to do a lot of legwork to show grounds for dismissal and that can put them off employing people in the first place, but in general it helps balance out the power between employer and employed.

People celebrate being Scottish, Welsh and Irish so one should never be silent and defend the right to celebrate being English and celebrate being British. I will not be silent and will defend the right to free speech. Keeping silent and not protecting free speech is a problem in today's society. If we lose our right to the free speech we will in turn lose all our freedom. We need to stand up for British values. We can learn from history but not change history.
