you hit the puck too in front of your feet. After the impact with the puck close your stick Sorry for my English but I began to study it only two years ago.
Tip for nasher check what kind of kick you have (high, mid, low kick) which means where your stick flexes and try to hit the puck with the middle of your blade.
I have 2 tips that helped me to get a better slapshot from someone who picked up hockey at 16 Hit the ground/ice a little before the puck And start with a quarter slapshot, then half clapper, 3/4 clapper and then a full clapper. This drastically helped me improve
Tips: 1 hit the puck before the ice 2 follow through with your stick and body 3 try taking less time to wind up 4 lean more on your stick 5 get your head up Don't just think about going top corner, work on getting a good, solid clapper.
The 1x is a low kick point stick making it harder to take slap shots especially if you hand is so far down. I use the qrl which is the same low kick point and i only bring my hand down about halfway.
Hey TheNasher61 a little practice tip for you, you have to lean a bit more on your shots, you have to put your stick about 8 inches before the puck on the ground, that you can flex your stick out for more power, when you do that its also easier to lift the puck top shelf.
Try rotating your wrists on the release so that the toe of your stick is pointing where you want to shoot the puck, that way you can get more accuracy on your clapper
Well you know to hit before the puck to flex your stick. Remember the edge of the puck is a little rough which is used to ride along the tape causing friction and the saucer motion of the puck making it go a little faster. Also try and a tad closer to the puck.
Read this! Ok first square your foot to the preferred post (left foot to left post), don't try and crush it, make it accurate and work on power later, your lower hand should be about an arms length down your stick from you top hand, always look right at the target you are aiming for, I think if you are taking one timers if you can back up the passer that will make it easier, make sure our hit the ground a half a second before hitting the puck, hope this is helpful and if it is can you pls put it in the video, I love your vids P.S you don't get good with out practicing 😋
Drive with your hips, weight down on the puck for power and point your blade at the target. Make sure you're hitting the ice or pad before the puck that's where your flex comes from.. point that toe!!
Your blade should hit the ground a little bit before you hit the puck. Don't hit the ground and the puck at the same time. Also, follow through on your slapshot. Your blade should be closed as you come down to hit the puck and then open up as you release. When you're trying to go high you're keeping the blade open (facing up) as you make contact with the puck, which will just flick it and not have much power.
Well @TheNasher61 the stick your using isn't much of a slapshot stick I would use the warrior that you have. Also just hit the ice first before you hit the puck and really lean into it and let it fly
Try to shift your weight from your back leg to your front leg. The reason you can't aim that good is because your opening up your blade, you should curl over and point where you want to shoot( like what they taught us when we were young ). But your doing good :)
Remember that hockey slap shots are not about accuracy, either. Try practicing power and consistency first. Accuracy is the last thing you should practice
Nothing wrong with admitting a weakness and working on, I commend you for that! Tips: stop taking so much power off your shot to keep it low, trying keeping your follow through low. On your one timers i noticed you where fall back a lot, doing so does not allow you to transfer your weight into your shot, try keeping your momentum forward into your shot! Good luck buddy, can't wait for that first half clapper top cheddar!
Tip 1: Hit the shooting area about and inch or two before actually hitting the puck. Tip 2: Close your blade a little bit cause your blade is wide open causing no power or accuracy. Tip 3: Have the puck towards the middle or closer to your backfoot.
well what ive seen is that when you hit the ice that far away from the puck you lose power because the stick is going to be flexing at its maximum before you actually hit the puck and when you hit the puck closer it generates more power cause the stick is flexing in the contact with the puck.
Handsome Squidward well that means your flex is way too low for your shot meaning if u have a higher flex stick it should only make your shot better due to more power into it it shouldn't make it weaker either way
To be honest your focusing too much on aiming. (sounds weird I know) first work on your power then aim. you mostly hit the puck try to hit the ice first to preload your stick. Brett hull has a interview where he describes his slapshot check that out. Also make hockey shot give you a radar gun for "product testing" so you can see your progress
DA Loonie9 I'm not saying accuracy is bad. But when It comes to a slapshot it's purpose is to be powerful. if you want an accurate shot your be taking a wrist shot in the first place
Yeah I totally agree. I wish they would have won. Buy I'm also happy for Sweden. They value those world championship wins more then we do. They had thousands of fans celebrating. We as Canadians seem to value the Olympics much more. Do you think NHL players will compete in the Olympics?
Hey NASH not bad but there's 3 tips I can give u is 1.don't lunge and jump into your shot u should be rotating your hips from facing the puck then to the net.the second would be that u should keep ur blade closed up until the part where your blade meets the puck. And finally the follow through should be bottom hand pointing to ward the corner your aiming at. ( as well as wait transfer) hope that helps snipe on
Your hand is to low on the shaft. You want your hand half way down your shaft to have the biggest flex point.More flex more hight the puck will have. Keep up the great content.
try to shoot the puck from closer toward your body instead of reaching for it. also try to line up your shoulder with your elbow and knee to really get over the stick/puck. hope that made sense good luck getting a clap bomb buddy.
don't hesitate on your stance, just take the shot, and lean more into your shot. also hit the ground before the puck, you are hitting the puck without out the ground too much!
Nasher you are hitting the ground and the puck at the same time hit the ground then hit the puck please take my advice and get under the puck more face your feet to the net because that would be the position on the ice i know i am only 10 years old but trust me i know hockey
0:58 that’s the same problem I have I practice and I take at least one hundred slap shots a day and I’ve been doing that for 4 months now the same thing and I still can’t get it down
Your stick may also have something to do with why your slapshot is not the greatest. You are using a 1x which is excellent for quick motion snap shots and wrist shots - not so much for slapshots. A 1N or 1S are great for slapshots. The 1N is great for all around shots and the 1S is more slapshot dominant. Hence why you don't see Kaner (1X user) taking many slapshots or using the 1S because it is not his style of hockey. You see Ovechkin, Stamkos, and Weber using the Supreme line because of their one-timer style of play. Keep up the great work Nasher. Great video.
I find you shouldn't be afraid to dig that ice before making contact with the puck. You would be surprised how much work the stick really does when you understand how to use it's technology. I'm 6'2 175 and I have a bullet because it's all about the wind up, weight transfer, and release. The wind up should be however you feel comfortable but don't be afraid to really swing back, the more momentum you build, the better. In your case, you seem to be bending your back knee and just swinging your arms. Try to exaggerate the weight transfer in slow-motion. That's really all you can do other than practice
I used to suck at snapshots while on skates only. I was amazing at it off ice though. Once I got a longer stick i was able to hit it every try and it really helped
it looks like everyone got the hit the ground before the puck thing but also for the shot you really dont need to raise the stick above your waist you can hit with more energy if you keep the stick at around your waist
Get a True XC9 ACF. Three flex points: top of the shaft, middle, and just above the heel. Really gives you a different but satisfying feel. The XC9 is great for slapshots as well
Looks pretty good, if you want to get it higher when you load back bring your stick higher in the head so the blade points to the top of the ski so when u bring it down you have more power and speed. Also it looks like your leaning forward alittle bit try to keep your weight back. Other than that it looks good keep working on it!
Nasher your slapshots arent that bad.If i were you I would start taking clappers with both feet facing the puck and bending your knees. Also extend your back arm. ALso bending your knees helps you stay balanced. And follow through when you shoot, you usally just stop your stick let it go all the way out
I can completely agree because Im in the same boat, I can wrist and snapshot perfectly, but when It comes to slapshots I cant lift them to save my life. I think its because I baby out halfway through thinking "Oh god im gunna break this stick!" But i hope to improve soon.
So my opinion: You should aim Over the pads rather than bottom corner. UNLESS you want to work on accrucy in the terms of aiming for a stick to deflect it. I also think it'd be better to work on power rather than angling your stick to "chip" it where you want it to go.
u make it sound like it's fucking add, it's not too bad bro. Just fixate your wrist so the blade doesn't move, and really transfer your weight as you hit the puck. Really like the fact that you're working on something that isn't to good, and sharing it with us. Keep working, you'll get there!
Yor slap sot is ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Tip: Try hitting the ground and flexing your stick before hitting the puck. The flex will give you whip. I'm a peewee defenseman and I perfected it. Keep at it
Make sure you have your lower hand about half way down the shaft and keep your hands away from your body through the shot so that you can push with your bottom hand and pull back with your top hand, although the majority of the swing should come from your bottom hand while the top hand is sort of acting like a pivot if you keep the arm straight(ish). Make sure you are also hitting the ground before you hit the puck and try to get in a more athletic stance, keep your head and chest up facing towards the target which will help your aim, so that you can properly transfer your weight from your back foot to the front foot through the shot and it will also help to get your body over the puck which will allow you to flex the stick more. The way I learnt was through practicing but trying to focus and figure out exactly what what my body was doing or should be doing so that it is easier to tell when something isn't working properly. If you focus on the technique, then you should improve quite quickly. Hope this helps!
You need to put your bottom hand higher on your stick. If you do that you will get more flex and better accuracy! Love your videos Nasher! Keep up the great work!
Okay so the accuracy of my slapshot needs work, but ive got the power part down. So as for power i would recommend hitting the ground slightly before the puck and do your weight transfer as you come into contact with the puck. that helps flex the stick and really launch the puck hard. and as for the one timers, i recommend turning your shooting pad to more of a diagonal positiong, that way you get a much better angle when the puck comes off the rebounder! keep up the good work Nasher!
Your slap shot isn't bad, but to improve, try using the power in your legs and entire body rather than just swinging your arms. It'll give you more power. In terms on hitting the top corners, it's not that big of a concern as slap shots usually occur when you have a teammate in front of the net and I don't think the guy screening would appreciate a slap shot to the face. But if you feel like being flashy, try opening your blade a fraction of an inch and you'll really notice the puck elevating more
I know you hate slap shots, but you like the 1x stick which is tuned for quick wrist shots. I would try one of the other sticks you have. One with a different kick point or maybe even a bigger curve.
Good luck to you! I can take slapshots on dry land...but as soon as I get on the ice...my feet just completely check out. If i tried it while moving, I might die.
You have alot going on w/ your slapper. However, I can tell you one of the best tips I have received is to grip the stick w/ your lower hand as hard as you can. So in your case left hand grip real strong. Gluck
For the 1 t you wanna get the puck right between your feet. That's where the optimal shooting position is. And keep your upper arm straight and don't break your wrists (like turn them) because it looked like that's where your height was coming from and that way you have no power in your shot
Yeah, so my slap-shot sucks. Today we change that! Feel free to give me some tips as I go on this journey to have a respectable clapper😂
no it dosent better than me
TheNasher61 i
shout out masam vlogs
TheNasher61 if you are looking for tips just makes sure you really lean into your slapshot and you will be more powerful and accurate
TheNasher61 closer to your body
Don't worry bro, I got you! Road to Slapshot video #2 is in Ottawa with me :)
you hit the puck too in front of your feet. After the impact with the puck close your stick
Sorry for my English but I began to study it only two years ago.
Giona Ghezzi your English is fine
ya I have to say your English is better than most
Giona
Giona Ghezzi your English is fine
Tip for nasher check what kind of kick you have (high, mid, low kick) which means where your stick flexes and try to hit the puck with the middle of your blade.
I have 2 tips that helped me to get a better slapshot from someone who picked up hockey at 16
Hit the ground/ice a little before the puck
And start with a quarter slapshot, then half clapper, 3/4 clapper and then a full clapper. This drastically helped me improve
Tips:
1 hit the puck before the ice
2 follow through with your stick and body
3 try taking less time to wind up
4 lean more on your stick
5 get your head up
Don't just think about going top corner, work on getting a good, solid clapper.
Get a little Lower on the stick and make sure you "cup the puck" when you shoot, it gives more power and more accuracy
If you want to get more height try to hit the ground first ( a couple inches behind the puck)👍🏻👍🏻
That will give it more power not hight but nice tip😉
Try rotating your wrists on the release so that the toe of your stick is pointing where you want to shoot the puck, that way you can get more accuracy on your clapper
Well you know to hit before the puck to flex your stick. Remember the edge of the puck is a little rough which is used to ride along the tape causing friction and the saucer motion of the puck making it go a little faster. Also try and a tad closer to the puck.
Stand a tad closer to the puck*
Read this! P.S you don't get good with out practicing 😋
Drive with your hips, weight down on the puck for power and point your blade at the target. Make sure you're hitting the ice or pad before the puck that's where your flex comes from.. point that toe!!
That dog sure does love you. I might get a cat if I score a goal in my tournament. If I get a hat trick, I get 2! Ok, I'll stop.
Also, take my advice with when your stick handling and about to shoot, look at the puck once, than look at your target until your scored, or shot.
Nasher shoot orange or weighted pucks it will get your clapper so much better
no that will hurt your blade
if u r having trouble getting the puck up high u have to lift your stick higher on the follow through
Well @TheNasher61 the stick your using isn't much of a slapshot stick I would use the warrior that you have. Also just hit the ice first before you hit the puck and really lean into it and let it fly
i am loving seeing you upload more man
Maybe try a stick with more flex . i personally think that its easier to hit top shelf with a harder stick . Just my personal opinion .
U have to roll your wrist after shooting and have strong hands on your stick so u get more power in your shot
Good You're working on it! Would love to see some Ovi Snipes In-Game.
your shot looks fine you just need to keep practicing, also you want the puck to be a little bit ahead of you. keep up the good work 👍🏻
awesome video nasher keep up the great content
you'r slap shot is better then mine. i can score goals with it but i can't get almost any hight in the shots.
Try moving your left hand lower towards the blade and you will get more power and hight
when you do a slap shot take your left hand liter bit higer.
Same my snapshot is bad but I am practicing like you
You might want to try to straighten your back arm (left arm) the have better aim and more power
Try to shift your weight from your back leg to your front leg. The reason you can't aim that good is because your opening up your blade, you should curl over and point where you want to shoot( like what they taught us when we were young ). But your doing good :)
More then the videos . Comments helped me out more (opposite to expectation ):D
No way look at train 2.0 video on slap shoot he does a great job on breaking the concepts down.
Just keep shooting, it will get better.
You did do a slap shot before on onetimers
Wild #letsgowild!
you should hit the ground before hitting the puck cuz it will flex your stick and it will go faster
Just to get it in the air a little bit, just get the stick under the puck, a little bit, like soccer put the foot under the ball!
Remember that hockey slap shots are not about accuracy, either. Try practicing power and consistency first. Accuracy is the last thing you should practice
#2 plz
U know how it looks when your dad who has never played hockey takes a stick and starts to slap
Yeeeaaaa....that's how it looks
What's that beat drop song that says "I've been getting money"
The Intro haha!
I really, REALLY want to get a net, the goalie pad, and the plastic surface tiles, but it's so fricken expensive, bless me hockeyshot please
I GOT THIS VID. 6 YEARS LATER 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not bad..... but 1 key thing is to put your weight into the shot not your arms it really works!! Keep the good work up nasher!
Also hit be for the puck so it flexes your stick for hard shot!
Make sure to flex when you hit the ground
Yo
a little tip, try not to hit just the puck, like hit the ground a bit you hit the puck to get some whip on it
Nothing wrong with admitting a weakness and working on, I commend you for that!
Ryder Brosz yea he falls back on one timers
Lol
Ryder Brosz Yes. Make sure you follow through with your blade closed to keep it low but still fast and accurate.
Tip 1: Hit the shooting area about and inch or two before actually hitting the puck.
Tip 2: Close your blade a little bit cause your blade is wide open causing no power or accuracy.
Tip 3: Have the puck towards the middle or closer to your backfoot.
Handsome Squidward all true

Hkydude13 for tip 3 it depends on how you like it in the end
DA Loonie9 you probably want to hit it about two or three inches away
make sure you focus on hitting the surface before hitting the puck

It's not that bad dude
don't hesitate on your stance, just take the shot, and lean more into your shot. also hit the ground before the puck, you are hitting the puck without out the ground too much!
Put more power when you make contact with the puck and lean more forward when making contact with the puck and after making contact.
jus a mid kick stick ccm or mx3le or a wevi bauer x700 in pruv jor śot a got 100k subs
You're to mobile when shoot your back leg is all over the place try to it keep behind you and lean over the puck more for more power
When your setting up for the one timer give yourself the room to really Wined up your shot it will help with the top corners
your slap shot sucks so you can take your goalie off your net and you can practice with a open net using 50 pucks
keep your back arm straight and lean into your stick for more whip in your shot
How do you feel that ur buckeyes are in the final 4 for lacrosse this weekend?
It took me 4 years to learn how to even get my slapshot off the ground so I feel you nasher
Hit the ice with your stick before you hit the puck you will get a more powerful shot
just a helpful tip you have to move closer to the puck you are reaching
Since your a lefty you should keep your right arm low
Nice vid and congrats on 90k subs!
#roadto100ksubs
Nasher you are hitting the ground and the puck at the same time hit the ground then hit the puck please take my advice and get under the puck more face your feet to the net because that would be the position on the ice i know i am only 10 years old but trust me i know hockey

For the 1 t you wanna get the puck right between your feet. That's where the optimal shooting position is. And keep your upper arm straight and don't break your wrists (like turn them) because it looked like that's where your height was coming from and that way you have no power in your shot
