In the playoff era, where traditional bowl games have lost a ton of their importance, how does Riley motivate his team now that you have a whole second half of a season to play and both the Conference Title and a Playoff Berth are pretty much out of reach?
This team has to play better. Also, These insider USC podcasters seem afraid to provide honest estimates. It’s Jayden time, needs a QB who can escape pressure and provide challenges to defenses.
I love Coach R. Imo, he's a young Bill Walsh. Key word young. He's still stacking the battle scars & learning lessons that come with the position. Once he figures it out and gets surrounded with everything he needs, I hope he's a Trojan, and not somewhere else, because thats going to be the worst nightmare for the rest of the college football world. With that being said, he does come across as arrogant and apathetic about the teams shortcomings, that NEED correcting.
As I see it with the lack of run game in the 3rd. Does anyone recall the comment made from BJ Fleck the week before. He said after the game that he knows Lincoln Riley breathes and think pass first. Do you not understand that is the topic amongst all coaches who are or will be playing SC? They know, no matter what, LR will live and die trying to throw the football. He cant help it, thats who he is. I dont get why he couldn’t have just stayed with what he was doing in the first half. There was no reason to go into desperation mode and get away from the run. It really changed the 2nd half. It put much more pressure on Miller and the whole offense. Coach Riley has to figure this and the clock out now. Theres no room for being one play short anymore. Lets get it done coach!
Completely disagree with Cody on last series for SC in regulation. Riley played not to lose. He was not aggressive enough. Don’t worry about saving time for Penn St. Run your offense and put game away. That’s One of Riley’s biggest problem. He coaches scared in those situations. Be aggressive.
What do you mean we stayed with the run game. Quinten only gets 3 carries-10 minimum and 20 minimum for Woody. Miller throws a early pick and sub him out

Jayden Maiava can win us football games. He needs to see the field. We need to take a look at him. He is a running quarterback and is more suited to Lincoln's Offense. We need to start winning now. I am a big Miller Moss fan but from what I saw in the last game we need to make a change at quarterback. Jayden Maiava right now gives us the best chance to win football games. He can hurt you with his feet and can hurt you with his arm. He should know enough of the playbook and system to go out there and make a difference. It is a no brainer to make a change at quarterback. Miller's throws there is something wrong last game. Maybe the effects of that concussion. He was not right for some reason. A brain injury would explain things. I also believe some of our players are banged up and nicked up by now. We need to play more of our depth players On offensive line, running back, defensive line, linebacker and even the secondary. Quinten Joyner needs to get more plays and give Woody some rest. Guys like Nate Clifton and Gavin Meyer need less snaps and more rest. Desman Stephens needs more plays and rest some of our linebackers. We have some players who are banged up and nicked and need to play less snaps. We need to save these guys for the Washington game and for the next two weeks give our others players more playing time. WE NEED TO USE OUR ENTIRE ROSTER. Look who is on the bench and see how we can use them to give the other guys some rest. I would definitely make a change at quarterback. Jayden Maiava is a great football player and he can help us win football games. It helps with recruiting as well. I do not really care who we put out there as long as we start winning games again. Fight On. ✌
Give JM a chance. 11 TDs 5 INTs with a 71 rating is HORSESHIT. OK so certain loss to ND with coin flips UW, Neb & Rut put us conservatively at 4-6 or 5-5. Leaves Mary & ucla wins to get to 6-6 or 7-5 which i called in JANUARY. Geezus we stink. Hideous obvious 7th grade play-calling hurts even more.
You know what bugs the hell out of me about the roughing the passer call? The B1G officials routinely look the other way on close hits on Moss.

It'd be nice if USC fans could put forth some energy putting the Big Ten officials on blast . They seem to call them when USC is getting momentum.
