Came here to distract myself from braves fans using Tim tebow to say that the mets are "bad" when they haven't won a pennant since 1999 Random venting lol #LFGM
So in putting together my all Mets team at each position I'm absolutely torn between Piazza and Carter at catcher. Piazza was a better hitter, Carter was a better catcher...tough choice. Well at least first base should be cleared up in a season or two...(If we aren't all dead from the neo black plague that is)
@@jameshughes6049 I hear ya, tough to put anyone else there...but I kinda have the same problem with Keith at first as you do with Delgado. Keith won a ring before he got to NY...that feels a bit icky to me...but yeah deserves the spot as things stand.
I'm always so disappointed in the extremely low definition of video from the 80s and 90s. I don't remember the quality, in real time, being so poor. I think the trick is you gotta find the "mother tape", the first generation videotape of these events. In the Mets' case, WOR-TV should have those. Instead, so many of these "compilation" clips (even from official MLB team channels) seem to rely on sourcing other UA-cam videos for their archival content. The result is you, the viewer, are seeing something that's, in effect, 5, 6, or more generations removed from the master tape. On top of that, UA-cam itself is known to compress video quality on much of their 4:3 content. The resulting loss of definition is such that the videos almost look to be in some middle ground between live action video and cartoons.
I remember that Cowgill home run like it was yesterday... I was working with my grandpa to fix something post-sandy and I was listening on the radio.
Family Guy: "OPENING DAY, AND HERE'S THE FIRST PITCH... AND THE SEASON'S OVER..."
My eyes welled up a bit when Tom threw out the first pitch.................Right down the middle, of course. RIP Franchise.
The mets will always be amazing and the most entertaining team in sports let's go mets!!!!!!
Best Birthday Presents right here lmfao
Cowgill center fielder of the future
I was so looking forward to opening day 😞
Me too, I had tickets 😢
SAME 😭
Mocha18 me too
I fucking miss baseball season
why did so many pitchers' leg kicks look so weird compared to pitchers now?
And why did some players have batting helmets with no flaps?
Diaz and Cano peaked early.
My favorite is 2000
Why? We lost in Japan
I had tickets to the game today...
I had tickets for this weekend. SIGH.
Should have added the Rey Ordonez throw from the knees in 96.
Guess we'll have to wait a lil longer for the 2020 highlight of deGrom pitching a perfect game on Opening Day...
God I miss baseball please God keep NY safe
i miss my mets :(
Thanks for these videos
This hurts
No bobby Bonilla on opening day against st Louis.
God I miss baseball 😔
Hope one day the Mets get players like the 80s type of players. You gotta have players that wanna win not just get a pay check.
Both Cora and Beltran were on that 2009 team, how were they not stealing signs on every pitch?
LMAO
LMAO
83 and 85 were the best opening days for the Mets
April 4, 1988 - "is this a circus?". Let's be real, they were playing the Expos...
Expos were good back then they just didn't draw fans. They hit 4 off of Dennis Martinez who was a very good pitcher.
@@jameshughes6049 love the expos
Hoping to add a few raising the WS champion banner moments
DW X Yankee has more titles
That wasn't weight lifting, Timmy.
Lenny was only weightlifting...

Keith Hernandez all day every day. I love Alonso but Keith was special.
