Nice job, I have been painting a few bases, so I know how much work has gone into yours, as there is nice detail on the figure. I have glued a load of bases up with temporary glue, so I can get some games in with the raw plastic (yes I know .... but needs must!), while I cycle units over the painting desk. It seems a good way to avoid the burnout that you previously experienced. I am also mounting my 10 man strips onto 55mm MDF bases to cut down the gap between bases you get when using the supplied 60mm bases are used. look forward to seeing how Shako works out for you.
Decades since I last played Shako (1st Ed.) - a good Napoleonic rule set. Btw, if the figures are sculpted wearing the later 'Belgic' shako, you needn't worry about the pom poms because they are correctly on the side (but if wearing the earlier 'stovepipe' shako, they should be in the middle, as you say).
Good stuff much like my own choice of halving the bases i am using age of eagles however i bought the complete range upto scots and guard and im not liking the thought of painting my lot lol but yours are giving me inspiration and i thank you for that all best
A man after my own heart. Been daydreaming about Shako for a while so thank you for answering this question...time to reach for my wallet 8-)
Delightful work - and a warming bit of nostalgia there, too. I played quite a bit of Shako back in uni. Nicely done!
many thanks. Yes I look forward to having a bash at the rules...better than them sitting in the attic 🙂
Damn, they look amazing from the bases to the fluffy pom-poms.
many thanks glad you liked them.
These troops looks impressive on the table . Bravo for the splendid paint job . Cheers , Robert .
many thanks. I do find them easier to paint then I first thought they would be.

many thanks, A few more weeks and hopefully I will have enough to do a small shako battle.
Ready to fight...and splendid, great job!
many thanks glad you like them.

Thanks, I am currently struggling my way through the French line infantry but also doing the cavalry as a change.
Absolutely brilliant work mate such a splendid sight, also like number 13
cheers glad you like them.
What size bases did you use for the cavalry? Looks well spaced with the Epics. Cheers!
The bases for the cavalry are 40mm x 30mm round cornered bases
To borrow a movie line…”Very pretty, Colonel, Very pretty, But, can they fight?”
many thanks. we will see if they can fight :-)
Those look fantastic!
many thanks
The half bases look very effective.
Really great work and fantastic progress buddy
thanks pal. got the bug for this range now :-)
What did you use for the bases? And how long did it take you to paint them?
I use mdf bases from warbases. I paint in batches...so 2 units of infantry at a time. I would say about 3 hours depending on the type.
@@scotty7906 Do you round them yourself, or do they come that way?
They come with rounded edges
@@scotty7906 What is the thickness? And, what are the dimensions (L x W)?
They look great. What size are the bases?
Very nice. 👍
