I first heard Fatma Said sing in a concert in which Juan Diego Florez, Pretty Genre & a young Russian performed. She sang a duet (from Romeo & Juliet with Juan Diego & 'La ci darem la mano' with the Russian. I was hugely impressed & said, if she ever appears in an opera with Juan Diego, I'll travel anywhere & buy the best seat to see them. Last year, she appeared in Orphee, in the goold trouser suit she is wearing, & I was in the audience! Juan Diego has since appeared in concerts with her & they are both unique. The icing on the cake is they are also handsome/beautiful. I'd love to hear them both again, either in opera or in concert.
Best od luck :)
Most speak several languages very fluently in Egypt. English is a third language to me. Egypt is a country that is lumped with the rest of the Middle East by Americans while in reality it is a beacon of contemporary arts and certainly education and it stands out as an extremely different culture to the rest of the Middle East. It is far more progressive and open minded than some politicians would make you believe. (Some of course like to cultivate a sense of false backwardness) sucking up to Egypt's neighbour to the East...Egypt is presented and perceived as well as appreciated for its rich past which unfortunately is falsely projected as its only cultural heritage which relegates (often purposely pegged by the likes of NatGeo and the insolent visiting geniuses like Morgan Freeman whose ignorance is made up by mockery. Just another one who can't distinguish history from mythology ) as a relic of a bygone era while In reality, Egypt has always offered far more.
@@paulhomsy2751 You sound like you have an inferiority complex ya basha. There’s more to Egypt than cosmopolitan Cairo. It’s not some “progressive” utopia surrounded by big bad Arabs and you know it. Weirdo.
