@4:08 In Goa Jews had problems because in the 1400s Portuguese were the first European colonial settlers in India although the Portuguese weren't successful much in colonialism as they tried to forcefully convert people to Christianity and so, challenged mainly by the Indian Maratha Kingdom. But, the Portuguese with an alliance with Britishers managed to make a stronghold in some small regions especially in Goa. And Jews who arrived in Goa were fleeing from the Portuguese landed in Portuguese controlled area. And, do you know "Judaism" in Indian languages is called "Yahudi" religion somewhat pronounced like in Hebrew. This also tells that Indians had direct contact with Jews much before European influence.

The inquisition done by Portuguese missionaries not by Indian’s, even Indian’s got persecuted in their own land by the Portuguese missionaries in infamous Goa’s inquisition. Plenty of details available in internet about that.
Former Army Lieutenant General J.F.R Jacob the person who played an important role in getting the Pakistan to sign a Surrender Agreement in 1971 Indo Pak war which resulted in creation of Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan ) was of Jewish Ancestry. He passed away few years ago. Respect, daring and a true Indian
The Marathi jews he mentioned, in Marathi, many surnames are formed by adding '-kar' to the village name which means 'resident of'. That nomenclature is widely used among Marathi hindus. But there are some Jewish surnames too which were formed using this nomenclature. Also, there's Marathi-speaking population in Israel, who are jewish people from Maharashtra.
As an Indian, it makes me proud that our nation not only hosted and sheltered the Jews but they thrived and prospered in our country without any persecution. When the Zoarastrians of ancient Persia landed on the shores of India as a refugees, India hosted them too and they became known as the Parsis (from Farsi). And they too thrived and prospered. Some of the most celebrated Indian scientists were Parsis. India's problem was never the so called multiculturalism. It is with conquests and conquerors that India had a problem.
The Hindu rulers in Kerala welcomed people of all religions and gave some of them high positions in their Kingdoms. But as history says some of them turned back and bit the great culture that fed them. They still do.
I think since both Hinduism and Judaism are really old religions, and are both the original religions of their respective regions, neither perceived any threat to them from any other religion and thus did not establish any strong defence mechanism, or any compulsion to spread the religions. The third group were a shipload of Polish exiles (mostly Roman Catholics; there may have been present some Jewish people, too) who had traveled through USSR and had caught a ship from Persia and come down to India during WW2.
Imagine Jews, French, English, Portuguese, turks, Uzbeks etc all have lived in India in different times.
.
India was/is a true multi-cultural country that the world must acknowledge.
Invaded/enslaved/brutalized, not lived. Except for d ones that came as refugees, like d jews
2:26 pre-Paul Christianity was still viewed as a "Jewish" cult, and only really aimed at preaching to Jews... hence he went where the Jews were.... in fact, until Portuguese contact several centuries later, many Kerala Christian groups (Nasranis, I think) were Judaizers.
Interesting point
I am indian 🇮🇳 🕉️hinduon but i love ❤ Israel🇮🇱 jews&yhudi community full sport ❤❤❤❤

we in India never understand the hatred against Jews. They have suffered immensely during Nazi regime. Credit to these people that they remained positive and contribute a lot to the humanity. It has given lot of scientists. The more I read about them, more I fall in love with them. All of you are welcome in India. We will feel indebted to receive you. May God bless you. Before closing, I must say something about people from Tibet who are living in India for last 75 years. Pl find me one person who has created law and order problem or have demanded something from the government for being a minority or have done any act of treason. Rather they join army and die for India.🙏🇮🇳
This young israeli starts the video with the statement "my people in your land." No young lady, they are our people with relatives in your land.
@that1israligirl In my city Calcutta the Baghdadi Jews settled and the community invested a lot in the early development in the city during colonial days. Although today their numbers are dwindling(mere 100) yet their contribution can be measured by the number of roads and monuments named after the people from the community
Judaism and Hinduism is pretty same
Religious

India's simple principle "Live and Let Live"
Jews from Poland, mostly children, were on the run during the Nazi rule....they arrived on the coast of Canada but we're turned away. They then reached India where a Maharaja in Gujrat took them under his care, provided them education and shelter for nearly 12 yrs until it was safe for them to return to their country.
4:16 where you said I didn’t knew that Jews had problems in India the answer is no the problem was in goa which was a Portuguese colony at that time and with the Portuguese as he mentioned when inqaesition (Catholic Church) came to Goa they had migrate to Hindu Ruled area.
In my city Pune their is a hospital named Sassoon hospital which was financed and started by David Sassoon he belonged to the Baghdadi Jewish community. This hospital is in the top 20 hospital in pune city.
#indiastandwithisrael #indiasupportisrael
Some Jews in Maharashtra and Gujarat adopted the business of oil pressing mustard or flaxseed and they observe total abstinence from work on Saturday, the day of sabbath, so they were called “Shaniwar teli “ which means the Saturday oilpressors.
We love Israel and Jews .. love 💘 from India.. we actually loved all.. Islam ☪️ only backstabbed India and divided the country facilitated by British..
Love from India 🇮🇳 🙏
I just need a flan recipe, man. I don't know why UA-cam is recommending this video at 2 AM.
Hi, I'm from Cochin princely state, just northern district of Ernakulam called Thrissur (TRICHUR). We are happy to be acknowledged as good hosts for jewes community and never considered them as outsiders unlike other nations were they were said to be persecuted. Lots of Love Israel from India
Talking about persecution came to India from Portugal- Goa was Portugese colony so it came there, hence they moved out of there to other parts of india which was ruled by British and no persecution of jews
8:45 all these three actress have been legends of those times. One is also the first miss india ever.
I love Jewish people's because they are very hard working.
🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹I,love you Jewish community people 🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹
Very informative and great presentation. Thank you for the knowledge
In context to inquisition in Goa, it was due to the Portuguese had colonised Goa, it has nothing to do with India, Jews were never persecuted in India, probably the only place in world.
And we are proud of it.
Jai shree ram 🚩 jai shree krishna 🚩 🕉️ Radhey shyam 🚩 love from India 🇮🇳 🇮🇱.... God bless both of us.... Take care
We are the people of Kerala who do not inject religion into our heads😂
Love from India
Sweet little sis. come to India, visit us & see us in your own eyes & feel it.
The Bene Israelis are an interesting jewish community. They adopted Indian or rather local maharashtrian culture and even adopted the food and surnames. the Bene israelis were called Shanivar Teli or saturday oilpressers as they were in oil pressing business and did not work on saturday. Also check the Ohel David Synagogue in Pune
You will always be safe and welcomed in India, among Hindus.
When Yusuf Rabban first arrived in Cochin, India in 52 a.d. he was even granted as a prince by the king.

Islam and Christianity was a part of invasion, not an importation. While Orthodox Syrian Christians, Zorastrians and Jews were welcomed by India due to their sufferings from Islam at their homeland before medieval era
Only Yeshu Masiha is God almighty but alla is kutil and false god.
The inquisition done by Portuguese missionaries not by Indian’s, even Indian’s got persecuted in their own land by the Portuguese missionaries in infamous Goa’s inquisition. Plenty of details available in internet about that.
False. Please see glory apologetics
Please come to India.. I hope you will love my country...! most welcome...!
I'm an Indian Born In Guyana, I support Jews Because Of Our Ancient Friendship Between 2 Ancient People 🕉️💖🕎
Thanks for this video. Today some fanatic Christian and muslims are blaming Hindus as fanatic.
Changes required in map of Bharat.
Include PoK as well.
Coz Portuguese ruled Goa at that time.....not Indians...4:15
Sabbath shalom .
I am Seventh day adventist Christian .
We have great love and respect for Israel.❤
yea they faced problems because we were also being attacked at that time by the muslims and the of course upcoming brits
i a native indian ,but i have a lot of respect for jews in my heart,
