Punk music legend Captain Sensible heads off down to the coast on the historic Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway. More on music coverage at www.guardian.co...
Dungeness been cod fishing there many a time on a cold winters night . with just the glow from the power station for company . Alas no more as I now live in the south of France I do miss going there .
Captain come up to North Wales to ride the steam trains from Caernarfon through the beautiful scenery of Snowdonia. Dr Beching lifted up the tracks from Bangor to Caernarfon and beyond. Cutting us off from civilization and kept the train going through Bangor to Holyhead. But the steam trains are back and the scenery is stunning.. And stop off for a pint of the local ale too. 👌
Trainspoting, cricket and "The Bunty"; he's such a middle class boy who's slummed it for 40 years in Punk Rock isn't he? Funnily enough, cricket was quite popular amongst certain original UK punk rockers. Hugh Cornwell is a big fan as well; another middle class boy of course.
Would love to see the Captain and his old mate and fellow eccentric and train lover Robyn Hitchcock make a railway journeys type series. I'd pay my licence fee (for once) to watch it!! 🥸
Thank You for this!

I think he's the person I'd most want to have dinner and conversation with! :)

Good looking bloke... He's aged well... However, I can never properly adjust to seeing him without the red beret...
