Hi we climbed in summer. On the Peak in far corner are tents for a local guided tours. Around 6 tents. We camped further away from them and you can't even see them when they are there,so it feels like you are there alone ;)
Google Mount Pico difficult level. This mountain is very trick and weather changes fast without warning. A few people already disappeared and died. Google it. I TRULY RECOMMEND a LOCAL GUIDE!
I hiked it last week. I took a guide because my wife and I wanted to hear history/info about local flora and fauna, the mountain, the islands, etc. The guide was perfect for that specific item, but overall as a hike, i would say you do NOT need a guide. The trails are easy to spot, and have heavy traffic if anything goes wrong. Yes, weather does change quick, so proper gear and lots of water are required.
informative, to the point, beautiful and personal - well done, and thanks
Im doing my research to climb pico mountain, and your video was really helpful! Thank u so much
