Pandora’s Bottle tastes: Blue wine
The blue dye, anthocyanin, is claimed by the producers to have been extracted from the skins of red grapes. Anthocyanins are plant-based pigments that appear in flowers, fruits and leaves. In the EU they are permitted to be used as foodadditive under the code E163.
Curiously: the producers of B LÚ Perfer and Pasion Blue point out the high amount of antioxidants in (their blue) wines. With that, Bodegas Perfer, the maker of B LÚ Perfer, claim that drinking blue wine helps prevent cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
