Sandy Alomar Jr. My favorite Catcher of All Time. Las Vegas Stars ✨ I got Alomar Jr.’s autograph when I was 7 years old in 1987 when he played for The Las Vegas Stars ✨ and was on the verge of being called up. I only knew who he was because my dads friend told me, then he gave me the foul ball he caught so I could go get Sandy’s autograph with it thankfully because also thankfully Sandy stopped after the game was over and signed some autographs right @ the edge of the dugout. Was really cool and a great memory. 7 years old. I didn’t get another foul ball for almost 20years when in 2005 I caught my 1st foul ball @ the same stadium, Cashmen Field during Spring Training when The Cubs & M’s came to Vegas to play and now since then I’ve got about a couple dozen since that day, either foul balls or HR balls. I got Henry Blancos walk off HR the very next day too. So I got a foul ball Friday Night and the Walk off HR the next day with a Major League hangover. 😄 I was hurting that day but had bought the tickets months prior. Cactus League is the best in AZ. That’s how I’ve got most of my balls. Lol BIG BALLS.
fun story, I helped Billy change a light bulb in is house when I was a kid, he put me on his shoulders! My dad owned a plumbing business and he had the Ripken's as clients....Sandy was a great defensive catcher!
One of my childhood favorites right here.
I’m. A catcher and this helped a lot
