My dad built this yacht. I will add little insight on her building. I remember going to the shop after hours and seeing her and the other yachts being built along side at the time in their different stages of completion as I had done many times throughout my entire childhood with all of the boats my dad has built and I was a teenager and still in high-school while Fruition was being constructed.Fruition took up the entire length of center part of the shop and if memory serves me right she stuck out partially through the rear door so her bow was covered by a large tent which still exists today. She was built in St.Thomas Ontario Canada and she was transported by tractor trailer to nearby Port Stanley and spent a about a week or so on the dock before she was launched. An inside note she was launched near the end of August 2001 just a few weeks before the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and she was actually supposed to be in New York the day it happened but her owner had a bad feeling about something so he delayed the trip. Once 9/11 happened Fruition was delayed almost a month after the attacks because the U.S. wasn't letting anyone cross the border at that time so it was nearly November before she sailed from Port Stanley to New York. She didn't have her masts either because they were removed before she left Port Stanley and they would be too tall to transit the Erie Barge Canal which she took to get to New York. She finally made it to New to have her masts reinstalled and my dad as he had always done with newly built boats went down and spent another week fixing and redoing anything that may have arose during her voyage. He does all the mechanical electrical and plumbing for Kanter and he's been with them since the first day they went into business. I'm very proud of what my dad does and the numerous boats he's built over the years that have gone the world over. Times have changed a lot since then but I will never forget the memories and joy these yachts and Fruition included brought. Sometimes I wish I could go see them in person now that it's been many years and see how they're doing?
