    Great video because hitting is mental as well as mechanical/physical. Like Yogi said "Baseball is 90 per cent mental. The other half is physical." :)

    Justin - this is no joke...showed to the boys on my youth team and they asked what style New Balance you were wearing...cleats or tennis shoes and if so, what style? Great videos...

      Hey Tony! Those are turf shoes - I believe they are the New Balance Turf 4040v4. They make very comfortable turfs as well as cleats!

    Hi Coach, timing is my sons biggest problem. He'll be 12 this year. Recently another coach noticed that the barrel of his bat is pointing towards the pitcher so they seemed to think that's why he's late. By the time is goes to swing the barrel of the bat has to travel further. (make sense?),, I'm trying to keep him from having less movement in his load and to not push his hands back during his load. Let me know what you think. THANK YOU
    GREAT VIDEO

    Dude seriously thank you so so much for this. I’m usually good at hitting and since I’ve been struggling I didn’t know what to do. I’m also going to Cooperstown all star village tomorrow so I looked up this and I think it will definitely help me. Thank you coach

    Really good basic advice.
    Keep your eyes on the ball.
    Practice, Practice,Practice.
    Seeing and timing are everything when hitting

    Yes, I am struggling. It's been a long time since I played baseball in high school. Now 45, I'm in an adult league, but have not really got the hang of 70+ speed pitches. Not many batting cages here in SF Bay Area.

    this is just an idea. BP, t work, or soft toss are by people who are helping you with your timing. While pitchers on the other team are trying to screw up your timing. @4:00 Thank you very much

  • @GregJay

    I've been in the zone lately and the pitcher took me right out of competing in the game, The first time up I just missed it and the pitcher must have sensed it, I hit a long flyball to the fence and it ended up being a sac fly, but for the rest of the game 2 more at bats I got 4 wide ones and walked twice, that is so frustrating when the pitcher knows your in the zone or suspects it and then proceeds to take you out of the game by just not pitching to you, good idea for a video coach, how to deal with a pitcher that will not let you actually hit, or something like that. It is very frustrating.

    Hey coach! Can you make a video on left handed catchers? Please. What do you think about them. They say the right handed batters don't let them throw correctly but what about left handed batters? In MLB there are plenty of left handed batters and many are switch. The switch will mostly bat left handed because most pitchers are right handed.

    COACH JUSTIN please answer my question. I have an anxiety of a pitch ball when im in the batter's box.Im always afraid maybe i get hit by the pitch ball. DO you have a tips on how to overcome this anxiety?

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  5 років тому +1

      You need to learn how to properly get hit by a pitch! I'd recommend having your dad/coach throw tennis balls at you from a short distance... occasionally throwing them over the plate for you to crush, then occasionally throwing them at your back where you need to properly learn to turn your front shoulder in towards the plate and get hit. Once you properly know how to get out of the way or properly get hit, you'll have more confidence and less anxiety.

    Hey justin, I'm a freshman and tryouts are February 27, can you tell me what to expect and how to prepare? I usually hit line drives and I use wood but I need to use metal in high school. Just tell me what you think I should do.

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  5 років тому +3

      Most likely your tryout will consistent of a 60 yard dash, showing off your arm strength and your defensive skills, showing off your hitting, then possibly scrimmaging! So I would prepare best in all of those areas. Continue to lift weights and also do as much skill work as possible. I have two videos on tryout advice that I think you’ll really like

      Ultimate Baseball Training thanks, I'm squatting around 200 on my max, and around 135 on my bench. My baseball weight room sessions start Nov 7 and I'm going to try to go all out. I want to try to make a career out of baseball and am just trying to get every advantage I can at this point. I'll also check out those tryout videos as well. Have a nice night.

    It’s not impossible to watch the ball hit the bat..trust me guys. Now I’m not the best hitter but when I’m going good, I literally am Able to watch my hands hits the ball and follow through and it feels really clean.

  • @michaelfleming5999
    @michaelfleming5999 6 місяців тому

    Kids watch the pitcher. If he's throwing over the plate on the first pitch be ready to crush that ball.
    But some pitchers throw off the plate the first pitch.
    Pay attention to what he's throwing and when he's throwing certain pitches.

    Hey coach Justin, loved the video, and so glad it can possibly help me in my mental state at the game. I also am eager to improve my overall skill, so I have a question for you.
    how do I field without looking like a robot? I tend to know my mechanics very good, but based on my summer ball coach, I look like a robot when making plays in games.

  • @SolitarySoldier
    @SolitarySoldier 5 років тому +1

    With when you talk about watching the ball hit your bat through the full duration of the pitch, obviously we look at the launch position. Is our chin supposed to be on the top of our shoulder to emphasize really watching the bat hit the ball? The main guy i study is altuve since he is such a high average hitter and rarely ever strikes out and thats who I emulate my game after only i am an outfielder.

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  5 років тому +1

      Yes, when you're in the launch position your chin should be on your front shoulder simply because you're watching the ball out of the pitchers hand!
