I have a theory that Ruff and Reddy were made into robots because the original shorts were so old and stiff that they looked like they moved like robots back then, lol I'd love to see them pair Ruff and Reddy with the Catanooga Cats still as robots in a future episode, that sounds great
11:43 My theory they used to be living flesh and blood, but decided to become robots to stay alive forever. Basically the OLDEST characters in the show didn't want to die, which would make sense since they were the first hanna barbara show.
I can't wait for the next part! The fact that they were bold enough to reference Galaxy Goof-Ups and HB's adaptation of Jeannie is staggeringly impressive. However, I can't help but bring up the other cameos in the opening gags. 1: Bleep crashes a spaceship into the town. Whether or not it's his own is another story. 2: Grape Ape marches with the rest of the town, even though he's a giant beast of burden. 3: Speed Buggy revs up his engines, only for him to expel enough energy to destroy the town. So yeah, there's that.
I feel like this show had a real missed opportunity by having Quick Draw be El Kabong 24/7. It would have been great if by day he's unassuming grade-school teacher, Mr. McGraw but by night he is the crime-fighting vigilante, El Kabong and his comedy coming from him having to balance those two things without blowing it.
C.H Greenblatt also does some voice acting in Jellystone. There is a lot of Hanna Barbera characters in here that are well known or not. But they cannot not use Josie and the Pussycats or The Smurfs because they are owned by their creators but they can use the characters like The Banana Splits.
The Biskitt characters making deserts is probably also a reference to the real life Keebler company which uses little elves as their mascots. Since they’re both small woodland fantasy creatures
@@detectivewobbuffet2778 IKR? I just binged the whole show & there wasn't enough of her. I also like how her cynical nature plays off of Jabber Jaw's sassy & carefree nature.
I know that Loopy De Loop was Bill and Joe's first post-MGM effort, and that fans at the time seemed to prefer their cartoon wolves wicked (i.e. Disney's Big Bad Wolf) or antiheroes (Bill and Joe's later Hokey Wolf). But I like the fact that this character finally has a chance to shine.
Somebody's probably said this, but ruff and reddy are robots because, by being the first tv characters, they were the "prototypes" There's not an official confirmation of this but that's my take
A) I got all the refs you mentioned (before you explained them) except for the Precious Pup one. B) Wonder if Warner could sweet talk Sony (ala Marvel/Disney) to get The Smurfs in? C) I would've sworn Yakky Doodle was already female...
Wonder when they'll be adding the actual Scooby-Doo, Flintstones or other equally recognizable characters? Maybe even some of the more later era characters, like Cow & Chicken, The Powerpuff Girls or somewhere along those lines.
Shazaan looks pretty cool😎 and I'm so glad they added Winsome Witch, she was one of my Hanna Barbera favorites next to Jabberjaw, Top Cat, and Dick Dasterdly🤩. I know Dick is not in this show, just listing my favorites.
it would be cool if they added the Hooded Claw from Penelope Pitstop. They already have Mildew Wolf, why not add another Paul Lynde Hanna Barbera character?🤔
At first I was super hesitant, thrown off even by the design of the show being the same CalArt style I'm sick of seeing everywhere....But if this show is digging THIS deep with Hannah Barbera characters, I may have to check it out, as a child of the 90s when Boomerang was nothing BUT Hannah Barbera
Would like to see Snuffle's the Dog Biscuit dog on Quickdraw McGraw show. Chopper the dog on Yakky who sounded like Hoss on Bonanza. Bigalow mouse was on Loopy deLoop. I hope they make another season of Jellystone.
I think the joke with Ruff & Reddy is that if they really are the first hanna barbera cartoons like you said... it means their the most obscure of all! and the older you are the more modernized you get... in this case with technology, it can also be a real life reference to their age, meaning their so old their bodies gave out a long time ago and needed their minds transferred to robot bodies, as for being children... just because! cause why not? or it could just be another real life reference to the fact only adults in this generation recognize them and are now relating to the new generation of kids by being kids themselves, or maybe I'm just overthinking this 😅😂
Alot of the gender flip character need a retcon or better yet reboot to their shows. I say retcon, for example jabber jaw could had a daughter who is also named jabber jaw. Or daddy dog had another kid which could be a daughter etc.
Didn't expect the Biskitts to be referenced, who's next; Swat Kats? I can't believe I'm saying this but....... I hope Scrappy doesn't make an appearance along with his uncle Scooby and the gang cause he'll most likely be the buttmonkey again and they'll make Scrappy very unlikable.
I realy thougt i was gona hate it, i am happy to be so wrong... My head just made some head canons to justify changes, but i made it more funny in my head
kinda get why they gender change some character. There are some that I don't like Augie being a girl but there are some that I love like Choo Choo and Brain but that is just my personal preference. I grew up with the Hanna Barbera reruns and shows in the 90's I hope Secret Squirrel would make an appearance and maybe Fantastic Max and his friends too!
They made Mildew Wolf gay in the cartoon? Well that's new. Usually Snagglepuss is the one that portrayed gay in most modern Hanna-Barbera products, though it's really old & over-used to death. I honestly never saw Snag as being gay because he's never shoen any romantic interest in anyone, not even a man. I'd say he's more on the Ace-Pan side.
It’s insane how super dedicated to Hannah Barbera history Greenblatt and the crew were .
practically the same dedication of the ducktales reboot crew, if not more
See I really think this is a proper way to pay homage to a creator's legacy. (Or in this case, two creators' combined legacy.)
I really like how they made the Banana Splits in this show. They’re crooks, but they’re still kinda wacky
At least it's a major step up from the previous big budget role they were involved in.
@@UdtheImp Yep. Better to be lighthearted petty criminals than bloodthirsty killing machines.

Seeing small obscure characters get represented is how you can tell love was put into a project
Also yeah, I love the new loopy de loop >3
Folks, please don’t jump the gun on what he might have missed. After all, we’re getting a part 2!
"Jellystone!" Is the first time I've cared about Hannah Barbera in a long time. There's so many easter eggs too!
C.H Greenblatt also does some voice acting in Jellystone. There is a lot of Hanna Barbera characters in here that are well known or not. But they cannot not use Josie and the Pussycats or The Smurfs because they are owned by their creators but they can use the characters like The Banana Splits.
Its Chowder... But With Hannah Barbara Characters.
Heh. A lot of these characters I only know because they still came on tv during the 90's.
Oh my God, I never thought I'd ever see these cartoons again
Never thought they'd reference 'Clue Club' in JellyStone. I too know that it is a Scooby-Doo clone, but I kinda like it.
The Biskitt characters making deserts is probably also a reference to the real life Keebler company which uses little elves as their mascots. Since they’re both small woodland fantasy creatures
There's also a Yo Yogi reference when Yogi was singing about his infinite stomach.
There was?
I hope the Swat Kats will be on the show.
I LOVE "Jellystone!" and hope to see more of the whole entire series after watching all of its 20 episodes!😀
Loopy's also my favorite character on the show, I hope we C more of her in season 2.
that makes two of us

Can't imagine how this show will portray the Paws Paws. Especially in this era.
I thought the Paw Paws were Ruby-Spears.
Robert Paige No, they’re Hanna Barbera.

Reading some of the comments here I can definitely say that Jellystone is like a Hanna & Barbera Super Smash Bros.
Man I still at least give the show credit referencing the Cattanooga cats lol, even if their animatronics lol.
Hoping for a season 2 for them to add more hb characters and giving episodes tonother characters

I know, It's a joke. ;)
this made me a subscriber.. thank you.
Thank you!
Thank you we need more robot representation on tv 😢👏
I remember the clue club.
It's nice to be represented by Ruff and Reddy.
This was a great video
Wasn’t Mildew also the villain in Kwicky Koala?
Nope, that was a different character
When ever someone says Shazam, I always think of Shaquille O'neal character from that one movie I shall not name.

Hmm ...maybe not. Yo Yogi is one part of YB history that deserves to be buried

There are a lot that are vaguely familiar
They didn't ripoff the Smurfs, they ripoff the Gummy Bears.
That's pretty impressive considering The Biskitts predates the Gummy Bears.
