Yes he was awesome alongside McGrath. Frank Stapleton was a class act. Superb in the air and an all round skilful intelligent footballer. Great signing by big Ron.
If United had indeed signed Brady as well, what a formidable side they would have been. Brady ,Robson ,Wilkins & Coppell providing the ammunition for Stapleton and Whiteside.
Quality as ever.
Brilliant.
Probably my favourite Utd player. Already a class act when Atkinson brought him here in 81. Can’t beat headed goals and he was the best.
Fantastic United player.
Great upload I wish Frank would do a new autobiography
Fantastic as emergency centre back in 1985 Cup final ,he never made an error 👏 ❤

Had a great knack of dragging defenders out of position, a great player in his day, very dangerous...
Remember him scoring the winning goal at anfield in 84/85 💥👍👍

"Oh Frankie, Frankie......Frankie, Frankie, Frankie, Frankie Stapleton." 1980s Stretford End chant.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
nice
more of an Arsenal Legend I would say!
Played over 200 games for both clubs. One FA Cup win with Arsenal. 2 FA Cup wins with MUFC. Hero for both clubs I’d say.
Half and half stats wise. But he’s aways been a United fan.
Didn’t get much applause when introduced.

Good to see Father Ted the 150yr old founder of the club there.
😅
Father Mac!
Father Paddy
@ We knew him as Father Mac - Fr McMahon. He was parish priest at St Alphonsus in Old Trafford when I was a teenager.
He’s a top guy. Always attends the AFMUP dinners.
Charlton should have played him in 1988.
He did play him in 88 plus he was captain 🙈
