The coach you travelled on is a Van Hool TDX24, built in Belgium. It's actually a smaller version (lower and shorter) of the European TDX25 and TDX27. It was purpose-built for the Japanese market, so it would fit under the bridges, which are lower than in Europe.

Great trip. Even though I have watched similar trip like this, I've never boring watch this. Something I can get from many bus trip in Japan are: Bus always starting and ending its journey at Railway Stations. Plenty narrow section like lower bridge, narrow toll gate, and narrow interchange. Bus stop at Highway. Multiple rest stop with shorter duration time. Always obeying the speed limit and traffic rules.

It's always nice to see how clean the highways are in Japan, even in the urban areas. And the people on the bus are so considerate. In New York it would sound like a millions of people talking on the bus. There is no privacy here. It's chaos. The rest stops looks nice too.

Nice landscapes, but what I enjoy the most on your travels is how people are so considerate and respectful. Buses or trains are so quiet ! In France most of the time, it's noisy and travels can get quite annoying because of that. Japan seems quite unique on that point (among other things 🙂)

The video presentation was superb like I myself was traveling in Double Decker Bus with you. Bus is extraordinary fabulous. After all it's the presentation and Pride of Japan the most technologically advanced country. Really, this is not an exaggeration, but definately appreciative. Though, India is stepping forward to establishing modernization. We love to see our PM Mr. Modi with Your late president Abe Sinzo, sorry to miss him for better relationships of two lovely countries of our World. It is a VANHOOL bus, Belgian. Near to all double decker long distances busses in Japan, are VanHool busses, already in the late 1980-ies !!!! The reason for the tight connection of the VanHool company in Japan, is that VanHool builds absolutely custom, after listening a long time to the specific wishes of the client. Most bus buiolders in the world present their "types"with a take-it-or-leave-it attidude. VanHool was custom minded (like they have always been in Belgium), thus found full respect in Japan.

Look at "VanHool City" , the endless and hyper clean factory in Belgium :

Perhaps, on the original old Business meetings in the 1980-ies, the Japanese invitees were impressed by the legendary "Spic-&-Span" cleanliness of the VanHool factory as well 🙂 ...even if the total surface in those days was only half of what it is today. Japanese executives are sensitive to such details... 🙂 More: Belgian business partners will welcome the guests in their facilities, but then... they wil never discuss any business opportunities before having presented lots of drinks, going out for dinner etc; talking about everything but business. This attitutude is very Belgian, and .. as matter of fact, also Japanese. It's a attitude FIT. With the Netherlands that attitude turns out to be the most radical opposite. Dutch business people really scare off the Japanese. (From a Japanse viewpoint, the Dutch way is invading rough and intimidating, unpolite and non-welcoming.) >>> The "quality" of the busses is just a sidenote, Japanese people want a human welcoming slowness, in the first place. (Yes, Japanese business is SLOW !... with a reason)

6:30 Trust me, most Londoners learn early on how to move on a double-decker bus.
6:50 I wish they let you do that on a UK coach (coach being the term we use for long-distance buses over here).

Haha, I know you in U.K. have a lot of double decker buses. I've watched some videos about them😄
The curtains between seats were amazing in the sense that they give it feel like a private room!

It’s interesting how the Japanese have managed to effectively and safely combine bus stops with an extremely busy multi-lane highway. I don’t think the Government would ever dare try that where I live! (England)

Actually, not many buses stop at the bus stops on highways. They are kind of inconvenient for those who don't have cars. Thus, it's usually empty

@@travelgeekphotography Two problems with bus stops on fast roads in the UK. 1. Aggressive drivers who won't give way to the bus. 2. Pedestrians who try to walk along/across the road.

Hi there, no need to be jealous of the German Autobahn. There are only a few areas with unlimited velocity allowance and actually driving can be much more stressful, as you have all kind of cars with different powerful engines and a large range of driving skills or people‘s willingness to follow the rules or to understand the concept of motorway usage in Germany. In countries with speed limit travel is usually much more relaxed. Greetings from Germany

I'm from Korea and have traveled around Japan by rent-a-car and express bus. Japanese highway always satisfy me with proper signs, kind co-drivers and delicious rest stops. However, foreign drivers should not be too surprised by the high toll fare on the highways. 10 years ago, when my ETC and Japan Yen were not enough to pay, but it was good that they accept my credit card at the toll gate.
