    That's a pretty cool way to check grade and screed the sand using that bar on your bobcat, we use a tractor with a box blade👍

      @concreteninja  6 років тому +2

      Hans Hahn Hey mate between $300 to $500 depends on how good you are and how big the jobbies for the day . Most boys get $35 an hour .

    Dear Concrete Ninja,
    The thing that you have, that other people want, is your knowledge and experience. Your training videos are already very good. You need to find a way to teach younger concretors how to screed concrete properly and finish concrete, and not rely on a bull-float to fix poor screeding skills.
    You could have training days (say 2 or 3 days a week) where you could pass on your knowledge and practical skills to young concretors. That is, they come and work with you. Maybe them or their bosses could pay you to teach them better skills and correct their mistakes, through practical experience. Nothing beats ‘hands-on’ experience.

    Those old guys will be out there 60+, cigarette hanging out of their mouth, straight edging their ass off and still find time to scream at you for not going fast enough. They don't make those guys anymore.

    Hey concrete ninja 👋 Love the videos! My work has a few 2.5m wide footpaths coming up that I'll get a shot to screed, I want to buy my own screed. Should I buy a 2.4m or 2.1m wide screed? Cheers 🤙

    • @concreteninja
      @concreteninja  6 років тому

      Mark Mccaw Thanks bro I think you should buy the 2.4m screed 👌

    use a screeding machine( Porta screed). saves your back heaps and you get floors just as flat as hand screeding. Best machine we ever bought.

    Your screeding methods or very slow we screed off of metal pipes and use aluminum screed boards or wood guy on each end with two rakers or three goes much quicker and smother finish

    • @scorpiuswireless1
      @scorpiuswireless1 5 років тому

      Curt. You need 2 men screeding? Yeah we did that here in the 1960s. One man is twice as efficient.

    • @duffman1241
      @duffman1241 5 років тому

      Rick Field we have a 5man crew and put these guys to shame and it’s way less wavy! I’ve worked with a somero lazer screed also so I’m not stuck in the 60s but efficient counts

    • @scorpiuswireless1
      @scorpiuswireless1 5 років тому

      Curt Friedsam I dont know these guys but i have 35 years experience. I dont see any “wavy” bits.
      You need steel pipes to screed off, says it all😊

    • @duffman1241
      @duffman1241 5 років тому

      Rick Field do you even know what a somero lazer sceed is? I’ve worked with one of the largest they make we did 600 to 800 yard poors! Jordahl masonry out of motley Mn look them up. We never used pipes smart ass. But now I work residential concrete smaller labs drive ways pole sheds house foundations

      I think u guys did a awesome job with the size of the slab you poured. Buy on a bigger slab like the ones we pour one man screed would be inefficient and not accurate. We poured 3000 yard foundations at about 3 ft depth. Buy for a slab like the one you did ....it works very well and looks great.
