Hi Ralph my brother and sister put me on to your video the other day . Thank you so much for posting this wonderful historical narrative of our village. I was able to pick the photo of my mother Maria Montesano ( formerly Nesci ) when she would have been in her late teens with her younger sister Philomena. I was also believe the video of the old man in the doorway with the hat is my grandfather Domenica Nesci. I was privileged to be able to return to the place where I was born together with my family after 40 years of living in Melbourne Australia. It was an amazing experience and whilst I have travelled to many parts of the world , my heart still calls me back to return again one day to my village to experience the fiesta of the Madonna . My mother and father are still with us and it brought back so many memories for them to see the pictures of many of the people that they knew. I assume that the pictures are only a small record of the photos that were taken .Do you know if there is a website or a repository where there may be more . Fantastic video . Warmest Regards Fortunato Montesano .
Oh I'm so happy to hear your enjoyment. It pleases my mom and I to know what an amazing history of a great man and a beautiful Town. Thanks so much and happy New year
nice story to hear Marco, I love that little town and enjoy everytime I go. I can feel and see the fruits of my grandfathers doings, He was extraordinary but in those times it wasn't unusual to find renaissance men doing just about everything.
Enjoyed your video of Nonno Mariano. I married Maria Montesano and her whole family emigrated from Capistrano in 1952. Her dad Antonio was refered to as 'trediciesimo' being the 13th son. I emigrated from Prossedi, Latini in 1952 to Montreal where we eventually met in the sandbox on Chatam Street and later married after University!
Hi Ralph. Just saw this. Thank you very much. I was born in Capistrano and saw a photo of my mom and 7 kids, that your Nonno took in 1959, in the documentary. That photo also hangs on the wall in my law office in Toronto. Also spotted my mom's brother looking over while they were playing cards...Who has your Nonno's collection of photos?Rocco Galati
Ciao Rocco. Thanks so much and as you are well aware of how proud we our of our history. My Mom has many of his old artifacts but was split with her brother whom recently passed away. We are also very proud of your success in the field of law and happy to have received your message
