Thank you good lady. That was a great Reaction. Jaws is such a classic. 💐🌹Happy Mother's Day🌹💐
Jaws was the best. Don't watch the other sequels. They are terrible.
@@amberlopez7477 Jaws 2 was alright.
The sequels suck.
FUN FACT: The most famous quote of the film "You're gonna need a bigger boat" was improvisation from Roy Scheider
Yup. Most of the dialog throughout the film was ad libbed. They had no working script and had to throw out most of it because... Bruce the shark almost never worked.
@@dan_hitchman007 ALso fun fact: when people first saw this movie, they got PTSD so hard they never went to the beaches back then!! Go figure.
@@SaRENRampaiger It put the fear of the unknown into the audience. What's lurking beneath the waves?? This film also put sharks in greater peril of becoming endangered due to the negative reaction. Spielberg felt really bad about that.
I was surprised how much of the dialogue was improv'd. Robert Shaw telling the story of the USS Indianapolis was one of the greatest scenes I've ever scene in cinema.
Roy Schneider also had a another good qoute at the end of the movie "Smile you son of a b****" before blowing up the shark.
Another fun fact: the head being shoved into Richard Dreyfuss' face was a stunt pulled by the filmmakers. Richard did not know that was going to happen and his reaction was real.
I was born in ‘78 and have watched this movie my whole life. It wasn’t until I watched it on dvd that I realized that the head was the guy that greeted Hooper on the dock. The “Hello back” guy.
When I saw this in a theatre when it was first released some guy sitting next to me just about jumped into my lap when that scene happened!
@@McPh1741 It's rather creepy that someone he met and spoke to he meets again when his head sticks through the hole in the boat.
Foreground my ass!!!
@@McPh1741 that same guy was where shaw drew all his insperation for quint
'I know I'm annoying, but that's part of my charm' ... 😂 don't you ever change!
😁👍
12:45. OMG 😳 Are you serious? Your comment has ONLY 30 likes and 1 (now 2) replies? In 5 months??? Excellent comment.
Annoying? As if! More like super cute!
In 2005 a Discovery Channel show called Mythbusters, which performs experiments to verify or debunk myths and urban legends, actually had and episode to if see an oxygen tank would explode if shot by a high powered rifle. It didn't explode but it did decompress very quickly and turned the tank into a compressed air rocket. So being propelled at 3000 psi the tank would have rammed itself down the shark's throat and out its ass basically gutting the shark.
They also did one where they pulled the boat backwards. Proved it would have flipped the boat backwards.
@@evebarlowsrottencrotch8986 No that was a myth they busted. They found sharks can only exert a force of about a third of their own weight when exerting a constant pull on an object. When they tested how much force would be required to pull the Orca backwards, they found that Jaws would NEVER have been able to do that, because doing so would require it to exert a force of more than DOULBE its own weight, which is literally impossible for any shark alive today to do.
"Who wears a black shirt on the beach"- I've seen this movie so many times and I never noticed that! It actually fits in the movie. The chief and his family are outsiders, they are not locals. Not only that, but he has a deep fear of the water. These are character traits mentioned in the movie. It makes sense then that he would not be dressed quite right for hanging out at the beach.
@Frank Silvers You could be right but I think from the portrayal of the characters in the movie it's clear this goes far beyond 'he doesn't like the water'. He has a hardcore phobia. He's a grown man, he's not going to act like a wimp about it, but the whole point of his character arc is he needs to redeem himself for getting that kid killed. He has to force himself to overcome his fear of the ocean and go after that shark. By the way, they are outsiders enough that in one scene you can hear the chief's wife ask a local woman "When do we get to be locals' and the reply is "Never, you weren't born here". I bet that due to his phobia he never went near a New York beach either. He's portrayed as a guy who has spent zero amount of time hanging out in or around the ocean. That's just how I see it, maybe I'm wrong.
You don't have to be a local to realize that wearing black in hot weather makes you that much more hotter and uncomfortable. Everyone everywhere knows that.
@@lewis9702 It's a myth. Whatever colour you wear it'll cause the same effect
You're not annoying at all, young lady. I love your sassy attitude.

The USS Indianapolis scene was great, even more so bc its a true story
The speech has a few historical errors, the Indianapolis didn’t “deliver the bomb” just its uranium, it was sunk on 30 July not 29 June and a distress signal was sent. Plus he makes it seem like all the deaths were from shark attacks. Some men died of exhaustion, committed suicide and even killed each other as they suffered from delirium and hallucinations.
@@betsyduane3461 The average sailor wouldn't know that the bomb could have different assemblies. Hell most people didn't even know what radioactivity was.
The records of the radio transmission not being acted upon by the three stations that received it were classified because the Navy didn't want to look any worse in the public's eye already.
Once again the average sailor wouldn't have known about this because the records were classified probably into the 80's.
So the story from the average sailor who was in the water rings true.
@@douglascampbell9809 You posted opinion. The radio signal was ignored by a drunk Navy sailor. By 1975 the true story was certainly known, BTW Quint is not a real person.
Suspense story that I ever heard
The way he said that speech. Ya can’t get any better acting like that
I must say, as someone who grew up trying to watch every classic movie I could find, it's always strange to think that someone hasn't seen Jaws, but reactions like this take me back to the good ol' days and are close to me experiencing the movie for the first time. Keep up the awesome work! This is great.
What's your top 10 classic movies ?
I was 20 when Jaws first came out. It was the very first summer block buster movie. When I went to the beach that year, most people were too afraid to go in the water. I did go in but I didn't go out far, my head was on a swivel and I was afraid the whole time I was in water.
The worst I have to fear at my local beach is a stray piece of brown toilet paper🤮
This is one of the greatest movies ever made.
They’ve got three Oscars at 48th Academy Awards
This movie is pretty good
10/10 do recommend watching.
You aren’t annoying, but quite charming. Thanks for the fun reaction! 😎
Best Jaws reaction I've seen.
"Uh...I think you're going to ignore this particular problem, until it swims up and bites you on the ass!!!"
One of the great lines in cinematic history.
Jaws matches up with covid perfectly. Business vs safety
Ironically, a shark is less of a threat than covid
The first was the best of this franchise. This was the birth of the summer blockbusters. Interesting note, this was the highest grossing film for Universal at that point since 1959's Imitation of Life.
FUN FACT: In the 1970's beer and soda cans were made from steel, not aluminium, and were tough as hell, so crushing a beer can with one hand was actually quite a feat of strength back then. Nowadays, a 9 year old could crush a beer can with one hand, but back then....no chance
“Woah that is huge” 😂 ….. I’ll see myself out 😃
I never hear this.
Thats what she said
Great reaction. You're not annoying, you have some of the best reactions I've ever seen. Too funny, keep it up. 😀
Fun fact: The famous jump scare was added later, by filming the close-ups in a swimming pool:). And the mechanical shark (no CGI in 1975) was designed by the same guy who built the giant squid for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The shark was nicknamed 'Bruce' on set, after Spielberg's lawyer.
So the movie villain is called Bruce?
When capturing footage of real sharks in Australia one accidentally got caught in the lines and trashed the cage prop, and Spielberg was so impressed with the footage he changed the script in order to use it as Hooper was originally supposed to die.
Ron and Val Taylor - From Inner Space
Poor shark. Glad Hooper survived and the shark I hope was ok
@Frank Silvers Sharks are ten s penny in Aus
@Frank Silvers They did for a reason, who knows
@Frank Silvers I don't blame them
I remember when this movie came out. It completely changed the American psyche! Nobody was afraid of the water before this movie came out, then everyone was! Lol
Anyone with any sense should be terrified of the ocean
13:45 It's true that Tiger Sharks are known for consumption of inanimate, inorganic objects such as cans, bottles, tires, coal, rags, wood and license plates. The fact that they are willing to eat just about anything is what makes them one of the four most dangerous sharks in the world that are also man-eaters, along with the Bull, Great White and Oceanic Whitetip !!!
Dustbins of the sea
Hooper was supposed to die in the original script, but the footage some Australian divers supplied to Spielberg showed a shark attacking an empty cage. They didn't have CGI back then, so Hooper escaped the cage and lived. 😃
What’s awesome about reactions? A movie that came out when I was kid, a movie I grew up watching multiple times a year…..watching people enjoy it for the first time is kind of like reliving the moment I first saw this at the drive in and literally climbed up the back of the drivers seat, from the back seat, and wrapped myself around my dads head holding on for dear life 😂
You crack me up so much! I love your personality, wittyness, and energy. Your reactions are golden. Thank you for your channel.
11:19 FUN FACT: The actress playing the grieving mother ACTUALLY HIT actor Roy Scheider in this scene to make it look authentic...
Sad thing is, they had to film it a couple of times, meaning Scheider git hit quite a few time to do this ONE scene.
Ah yes, the movie that made me scared of the bathtub for weeks.
I stayed away from our local pool.
Because of this Movie,
from 1975 on.
I will not swim in the
Ocean at night ever
same dude, same. I was like 4 or 5 when my dad and uncle decided to watch it and called me over for a ride. Thanks, dad.
Where was the lifeguard?
@@James_Loveless Neither will I but since I live 400 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, it's not really much of an issue for me :)
"Martin...Amity is a Godzilla town. We NEED Godzilla dollars."
You say 'Mothra,' and people say, 'What?'
You say 'Godzilla,' and you have a panic on the Fourth of July.
There are scenes that were cut from Jaws that were even more violent, and they were taken out due to initial test screening audience reactions
I wish I could see them
@@SamuelBlack84 they are on UA-cam, however they are a combination of the actual deleted scene and storyboard panels. For example the scene where Jaws eats the guy in the small boat in the pond is much more graphic, and Jaws actually carries the body towards Michael before swimming away. There are also more graphic scenes for Jaws 2 such as the Helicopter pilot being eaten underwater.
Jaws was....what was considered, the very first summer blockbuster movie. This movie literally made people afraid to go to the beach.
I was afraid to use the local pool!
I can understand if you live near decent beaches. Not if you're from the UK with polluted water miles out, slushy sand and it's minus 10
Hell, I was afraid of the toilet thanks to this movie!
Maybe my family should have reconsidered letting me watch it at 5 years old.
Can't wait for you to watch Jaws 2! Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water!
another fun fact is that spielberg hired regular townspeople for actors and the grieving mother was one of those-she didn t know how to fake slapping someone s face so roy scheinder got fully slapped multiple times
😱😱😱
Two fun facts: First, Jaws was based on a real life event in July 1916 where for twelve days, four people were killed by rogue sharks. One was a bull shark, the other a great white shark which was killed in New Jersey. Second, the grieving mother was a close friend of my grandma before she passed away couple of years ago
I still can’t believe people haven’t seen this movie but I’m glad to see you enjoyed it.
Fun fact: The original script for this movie was different, with a menstruous shark making more frequent appearances, but the mechanical shark failed so often they had to seat for hours while the technicians were fixing it. It was not the original script, but the movie became a master piece of suspense, by showing the shark as little as possible, a concept that was later repeated by other movies where the monster has very little time on screen and almost never seen in its entirety, like Alien.
did you mean monstrous? menstruous means something else.
A menstruous shark would attract other sharks.
Menstruous. No wonder the shark is so pissed off
The scene where the head pops out still makes my mom jump. And she saw this movie in the theater when it first came out in 1975.
Bob Shaw deserved the Oscar best supporting actor!
Love the natural reactions, fear, stress, agitation, anger outrage with that oh so wonderful accent.
Orca’s hunt and kill great whites and the boats name....Orca....The level of detail Spielberg puts in is astounding...This is a masterpiece.
Yet another fun fact. This story was inspired by a series of shark attacks in New Jersey in 1916. The author Peter Benchly researched them and wrote the novel about them. One of the attacks was in Matawan Creek 10 miles inland from the ocean(my hometown) which at that time was conmected to Raritan Bay and was Brakish water(where a body of salt water like the ocean or a river meets a body of fresh water like a lake)
And, his book caused a genocide of sharks which horrified him
Jaws(1975) is based on Peter Benchley's 1974 novel. The Deep and The Island are also Benchley books. In the novel, the mayor was in cahoots with gangsters. The French title for Jaws 2 is "Les Dents de la Mer Deux"! In the Mexican film Picardia Mexicana(1978), you can see a kid wearing a Jaws T-shirt. The blonde woman who gets killed by a shark had a cameo in 1941(1979). Jaws has been spoofed in everything from SNL to The Simpsons to the Police Academy movies. Jaws was ripped off in the 1995 Italian film Cruel Jaws.
5:54 That effect is called a dolly zoom. It was invented by Alfred Hitchcock for the movie, Vertigo.
Annoying?!! No way. Your expressive reactions have made you one of my favorite reactors! You're hilarious. Keep bringing the reactions 👍🏾

@@trhansen3244 😁
You are correct with the black shirt at the beach but it's artistic license.
Brody is terrified of the water and doesn't want to to in. Him wearing a black shirt at the beach was story telling and symbolism to his character growth to the end where he is in the water with the shark.
OMG the picture of you in the thumbnail on the right side, I love it! It makes you look like a mean pirate! LOL. Gosh you are the best! LOL. I'm totally living for your videos, mi amor!

13:42, yes, Tiger Sharks specifically are known to eat practically anything they come across, metal objects are often found in their stomachs.
The camera effect at 6:33 is a dolly zoom, commonly referred to as the Hitchcock Vertigo effect as Hitchcock used it to great effect first in Vertigo (1958). Basically the camera is moved back will zooming in, or the reverse.
The best 4 seconds of this review arrives at 12:58.
"I know I am annoying, but that is part of my charm!" is said in such a charming way that it is undeniable! Ha! Nice work!
Cheers!
You should have been in the theater when the head comes out with a few hundred people screaming at once it was awesome!
And they left the theater getting PTSD and decided NO beach life for them back then! Good times.
The money shot of all JAWS reaction videos is when Ben Gardner's head comes out of the bottom of his boat.
Yes, Tiger sharks have been known to eat crazy things. People have found raincoats, barrels, kegs of nails, pieces of tires, and yes, license plates, inside tiger sharks.
Thanks. Love your reactions. Jaws is my all time favorite movie, so I was so happy you made a video for it!

One of the greatest movies ever made a true masterpiece very classic. Jaws directed by Steven Spielberg starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and the incredible iconic music score by John Williams. Thank you so much great reaction😊👍👍
I like your reactions I seen this movie when I was a kid and didn't go to the beach for a year. Then my mom told me it was fake a movie but it still scared me for life

Great vid.

JAWS, the ONE film you HAD to see in a packed cinema, to get the FULL experience, on 1st viewing !
The composer who made the music is the same one who did Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, etc., John Williams.
Once again you have made it so much fun to watch an iconic movie that most of us have seen a million times
After this...Steven Spielberg always went to John Williams to "Please, save my movie."
Martin never said he almost drowned when he was a kid. When his wife was trying to think of a clinical name for his phobia, he responded with a sarcastic smart ass comment "Drowning"
Brody's scar on his belly was the result of a knife fight he has when a police officer in NYC. Details like this are in the book.
9:47 - Actually Hooper was wearing surgical gloves during the autopsy and took them off before putting his hands in the water.
Michael was supposed to traumatized. In the original pond scene the guy that was pulled under was supposed to grab Michael and carry him across the pond as the shark ate him. But the scene was cut.
16:59 No me jodas = Are you kidding me?
Spanish 💯
Lol that's the 'nice' translation for what it means.
5:25 that's kind of a misconception or at the very least an over-simplification. Color isn't a physical property itself, a thing's physical properties determine it's color. Things appear black because they're reflecting very little light, it's absorbing that light instead, which is why you can feel a difference in temperature of the hood of a black car as opposed to a white car.
The Bedouin have lived in the desert for a long time, raising black sheep and wearing black robes. That's because they dress in layers, the inner layer stays cool partly because of the air in between the layers but also because the black outer layer is blocking the inner layer from direct sunlight.
In the Chief's case, it's possible to get sunburn through a white shirt, even though it's unlikely, considering New England isn't near the equator. The Black might prevent that. but realistically it would make him hotter though, you're right about that.
9:45 - You didn't notice that he had been using gloves, and took it off before this scene.
14:50 - moment everyone is looking for. Thank you for putting it in slomo at the beginning of the video.
18:49 - Still with the mouth full. And those have a slow metabolism.
this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Thank You for reacting 💜
13:46 Tiger sharks do eat strange stuff like that license plate. They are the garbage trucks of the sea and their stomachs have been found with a suit of armor, a fur coat, rubber boots, even a bag of money!
I love this girl. She is sensible.and hilarious
This movie is awesome your face reaction to the part the water is so calm and you are so scared cuz you're trying to see what the shark will pop up again perfection
In English?
This is the only one in the franchise worth watching.
Jaws is my favorite movie of all time, and I get such a kick out of seeing people watch it for the first time. This is one of the best Jaws reaction videos I've ever seen :)
I love her reactions she is fun to watch
13:42 "Do... sharks... really _eat_ that?"
I imagine you'd be really surprised with the kinds of things that have been found in the stomachs of sharks, over the decades. Once, when I was quite young, I went to a museum that had a special going on sharks, and one exhibit was about the kinds of things that have been found in the stomachs of sharks over the years, and one of them was a _full, medieval suit_ of _armor._
10:20 In real life that’s actually a pretty big shark, looks like 14 foot long tiger shark. Largest shark ever discovered was a great white called “Deep Blue” that was 22 feet long (3 feet shorter than jaws).
also fun fact! Tiger Sharks can bite through sea turtle shells
Classic case of the little boy who cried wolf.....
@ 5:20 I can answer that. A guy who hates the water and doesn't like going to the beach! LOL! That's funny because I hadn't really notice that before, and I saw this when if first came out in '75, in the big screen theater and it was awesome there! In fact, that scene you went back to @ 6:31 we certainly remembered that effect! Quite a thing to see on the big screen and with Spielberg it may have been a first using that technique. If not, he made it memorable! It had the affect of drawing you into the moment, into the beach, and give you a sense of how his head responded to seeing that. And like getting tunnel vision. @ 21:52 The iconic "You're gonna need a bigger boat." line is used a lot by many when getting into similar situations. Not with sharks necessarily! LOL! Since you liked this one, there's another Spielberg classic you should do that came out 2 years later "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977), and please do the original theatrical release before any other versions called the Special Edition or that Director's Cut. The original has a much more positive feel than the others, but watch those later if you wish to compare. Another one 4 years after that, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is a biggy. Anyway, an awesome reaction as always! ✌️😎
Another fun fact I didn't see in the comments. In the scenes with Hooper in the cage with the shark, the stunt double was actually a little person to make the shark look bigger. Good reaction! I had the same cringe reaction, and always do, with the nails on the chalkboard scene!! On to Jaws 2, 3 and 4....right?
The scene where the shark passes the boy in the water in the pond, the reason the shark doesn't attack that boy is in a deleted scene, the deleted scene is a moment right before that scene, the shark still has that man from the row boat in his mouth, and the man is still alive in the shark's mouth, in fact that scene where the shark passes by the boy is supposed to be the point of view from the man whose upper body is sticking out of the shark's mouth. That scene was deleted because they thought it was too horrifying.
Imagine being trapped inside the mouth of a huge creature, knowing that you will never be free. And, to see the world outside through its bloody teeth, knowing you will never have your life back again
This is actually based on a true story. A single shark killed like 6 or 7 people in the early 1900's.
The 1916 Jersey Shore Shark Attacks as a matter of fact!
More like 2 or 3 sharks as several of the attacks occurred in a creek so a bull shark was definitely involved plus a witness to one of the offshore attacks positively identified a great white
14:53 Congratulations, you've just survived one of the most scary scenes in movie history! ;) It scares me to this day.. :S
One of my favorites of all time.
Murray Hamilton, the Mayor in Jaws 1 & 2, is also the jerk Mr. Robinson in "The Graduate." And in the original Twilight Zone, Season 1 Episode 2, he's (literally) Death.
That look to Quint singing 19:52
Another fun fact: Robert Shaw actually got drunk for this role so he could be authentically in an attitude for every time he’s on screen.
I mean, I think it was more because he was what we affectionately call 'a professional alcoholic'. Don't get me wrong, I love him as an actor, especially in this role. But he was def an alcoholic
And THAT is what I mean by “authentic”. You just see how good this guy is at playing this role all thanks to his buddy Jack Daniels.
Jacob Smith He actually tried it drunk & did really badly. He asked to do it the next day & did the scene sober. Or sober for him anyways.
I haven't watched the video yet, but I can already tell this is going to be good.
Your reactions in the suspense parts was exactly how the theatre reacted in 1975
It’s a fun movie, I’m glad you liked it 😊 I think the shark didn’t kill the sheriff’s son when he was in the pond because the boy was frozen with fear and couldn’t move so the shark didn’t know he was there or didn’t see him as prey. IMO the sequels don’t hold up to the original.
I always figured it was because the shark just got someone and wasn’t looking for more food at that moment.
@@namelessjedi2242 I don’t know, maybe? 🤷🏻♀️ It’s just that all the other victims including the dog were moving in the water so I thought that was why. But what do I know, I’m no shark expert like Quint 😄
No, there is behind-the-scenes footage where it shows that Brody's kid was actually pulled by the shark, along with the other boat victim who was still alive.
@@saturninhabitant If it isn't in the movie then who cares?
Crazy thing is, sharks really do eat all kinds of stuff, they're like sea goats or something. One shark I heard of was found with AN ENTIRE SUIT OF ARMOR INSIDE IT!!!

Robert Shaw intentionally got buzzed on set at 23:33 when he told that story about the Indianapolis going down.
