    I have type four Japanese straightened hair. In the past i stretched my relaxers, so its not a issue for me. My hair looks and feels healthier than it did when i was relaxing. I do not use heat on my hair besides when i get the treatment. I bun and wear half wigs at the 5m mark.

    I have very fine hair, I'm a type 2A I'd say, it's straight but wavy. I've never heard anyone talk about straight hair having friz, or the amount of shed! This explained so much to me, because I was actually really worried for a while about the amount of hair it felt like I was shedding, and I hadn't changed anything in my life.

    I was sooo sick of messing with my curly hair I decided to have dreadlocks. Now 15 years later they are below my butt and I’ve been so hesitant to cut them because I hate going back to the frizz and products. I see this, maybe it’s time to cut them and brush them out! ❤️🤷🏻‍♀️

    I currently am 13 months post my first and only JHS treatment. I have type 3c/4a mixed hair type, and now I have between 7-8 inches of new growth, but I'm constantly wearing braids/twists and my hair is under a scarf so I can get away with it. I haven't used any flat iron on my hair since I got it done, but I have used blow dryers maybe once a month. I watched this to try and decide if I wanted to get another treatment, or if i should just grow my hair out and transition back to natural (which is how my hair was my entire life before my first treatment).

    It is said that Japanese hair straightening makes your hair bone-straight .
    My question is if it’s possible to do the Japanese hair straightening but with one small wave in it ( my hair is about 15 cm long, I’m a boy)
    Greetings and great video 👍🏼

    • @love518salon
      @love518salon  4 роки тому +12

      Osu Iro Greetings and thank you. The straightness of JHS depends on the technique and desire end results of the client. It doesn’t have to be bone straight. Also I would need at least 3 inches of hair, to be able to do the JHS on a potential guest.

    OK, I loved how informative both of your videos were on Japanese Hair Straightening, but you just broke my heart when you said you do not recommend Japanese Hair Straightening on type 4c hair ☹ I did get it done and had my first retouch in February. I do love the Japanese Hair Straightening much more than when I was relaxed, it feels and looks, so much healthier, but as you mentioned, the issue with JHS is dealing with type 4c new growth, especially between months 3-6 and maintenance until my next retouch.
    I would like to understand for my type of hair, how often do you recommend washing and conditioning my hair; how often do you recommend deep conditioning (should it be weekly, biweekly, or monthly but I have been told to avoid deep conditioning too much because of protein???). Are oil treatments good for Japanese Straightening? My type of hair is difficult to just air dry and go, so I have to use a flat iron on the roots. If I wash every week and follow up with blow-drying and flat-ironing will it be too damaging? How often can you flat iron new growth, or should I avoid flat ironing altogether, what is the proper temperature difference between JHS vs my newgrowth and how many passes with the iron? I sometimes rollerset my hair and then go over the new growth-only, I love the rollerset then I follow-up with flat-ironing the new growth only, but rollersetting then flat-ironing is so time-consuming, especially by months 3-6. What would you recommend?
    Thanks!

    Wow. I'm a type 3 dark/brown/ black hair color....but thanks you're super educated! It's true, I've seen type 1 hair frizz and tangle like crazy,, even fine baby blonde hair on a little girl that kept getting crunchy in the desert. The more the mom kept spritzing a detangler in the kid's hair, the more crunchy it got and hence..made brushing time just awful for her.

    Wonderful video, thank you so much! I have 3A, 3B hair but it's extremely fine. Even though I don't see any bald spots, I have very little hair. I can use the smallest barrettes to hold all my hair up, that's how fine and meek it is. I have always wanted more volume and resorted to different extensions, none have worked. Weaves and braids slipped right off within a few days. Tape extensions that were much lighter in weight and blended better destroyed the little hair I had within a few months. I tried bond extensions, also ruined my hair.
    Over a decade ago I did the Brazilian blowout on a regular basis for about 2 years. At the time I was only worried about controlling my frizz. That was very effective however I didn't like the smell. I still continued doing it though. Those chemical smells stayed in my hair for weeks even after multiple washes. Does JHS treatment smell similar and as strong as the BBO?
    Also it was then that I became painfully aware of how fine and meek my hair was. Getting all the volume out really did me no justice but the hair was shiny and silky.
    Nowadays in my 40s I think I know better. I have not done anything to my hair in the last 4 years, no color, no chemical treatments, no extensions of any sort, even clip on extensions I avoid because they are too heavy.
    Yet, all of the sudden the urge to get my hair permanently straightened kicked in. I just want an easy hair routine. It takes so long to get my hair to look less bad.
    Watching all these videos has helped me realize this is not the route for me.
    Something I never see mentioned is the quantity and fineness of hair as a key factor on whether to undergo these treatments.
    Even the professional salon I used to go, did not seem to take this into consideration. It was only after the fact that I questioned, why am I not happy with my super straight silky hair? The answer, because it looks like a have some sort of medical condition that has completely thinned out my hair. Think lord of the rings Golum with a slight upgrade. Still, Golum is not who you want to think of when looking at yourself.
    I think these are wonderful treatments for those with thick abundant hair.
    Those of us who are the complete opposite, IDK 🤷‍♀️. Nothing seems to work for me. Perhaps a wig but the ones I have bought and tried on all looked awful and terribly fake.
    Love 518, I didn't catch your name at the very beginning, but what would you suggest for individuals with my hair issue? Extremely fine and very little.
    Are there any sort of frizz treatments suited for my type of hair. It looks like my hair is very damaged but truth is, I have been taking pretty good care of it. This is just the way it is, very fine, tendency to be overly dry and breaks easily. I have no health condition causing it to be this way. It's been this way my whole life. Growing up I was often told I should take some pride and take care of myself, referring to the looks of my frizzy hair. I did what I could not knowing much as the only one with curly frizzy hair in my family.
    Now I'm old enough to know better and those folks were simply ignorant and even toxic. I don't do drugs, rarely drink and don't have a health condition. I was simply born this way. I have a pretty decent diet, a lot of good fats and legumes that are key to good health, skin, hair and nails. Yet, those 3 especially my hair and nails are extremely weak.
    I rarely if ever blow dry my hair or use any sort of heat tool. My hair dries pretty quick on it's own because it's so fine.
    Ironing it is too much of a hassle for me and I never like the results the few times I have done it myself. I've had the salon do a blow dry for events to give it some volume. They use a lot of hair spray to keep it from falling apart immediately. However, after 2 hours my blowout is pretty much gone despite the horrible amounts of hairspray applied.
    Too much work to do that on my own too.
    Therefore, I don't have any heat damage to my hair because it's been years since I've gone to the salon for a blow dry hair do.

      Hi, I noticed we're late-comers to this site, meaning we're less likely to get a response. I posted my questions under other pp's answers in hope it has a better chance of being seen. Anyway, I'll answer from a personal experience with Japanese straightening that I last had done 7 years ago...all of that is cut off and regrown by now.
      I'm a dark-brown (almost black) fine, frizzy type 3 and I used to dye my black hair to a medium brown. So...the darker parts of my hair always looked MUCH better with the straightener in it compared to the lighter parts by far. Lightened + straightened hair usually looks fried. While those parts of my hair didn't fall off, it just didn't look like quality straightened hair. So, perhaps you can flat iron the lightened parts of your hair (on a low temperature) and only have straightened the parts with little to no color in it. Coconut milk is also a great way to smoothen bleached or lightened hair. Hope this helps...

      @love518salon  4 роки тому

      AAKim I heard Olaplex is good and most JHS companies have their own shampoo and conditioner. I’m also doing some research on other products, once I find the companies I can fully support; I’ll make a video.

    Does anyone have any opinions about using K18 after the treatment cream washout before the first flat ironing or after the first flat ironing, unlike Olaplex which affects the disulfide bonds, k18 supposedly inserts a small peptide into the hair strand and I was wondering if the weakening of the disulfide bonds that occurs after application of the first solution would make the hair take up the k18 better? Also, any thoughts about using the bioionic hair straightener on the vibration mode for the flat ironing?

    How long does Japanese hair straightening last and is it different keratin

    • @love518salon
      @love518salon  4 роки тому +1

      JHS is permanent. However once the new growth hair grows about minimum 3 inches, a JHS retouch would be done (Every 3 -9 months depending on the hair type).
      Keratin is temporarily and last up to 3-4 months.

      In the end I feel like it is a good idea if you really struggle with your hair and normally straighten it. Plus think about it this way, your hair will grow back with your texture from before and sense hair normally grows and inch a month you'll have collar bone length hair that is back to your original texture in about a year. And even though this seems like a long time you won't even really have to deal with your hair during it because it'll be straight (less maintenance.) But this is just my opinion.

    I REALLY want to have it but I'm scared to go to the Japanese salon bc I don't know if they can deal with my 4b hair
    Most salons say they can do whatever I ask them to do and screw it up at the end
    Will they be able to handle my 4b hair?
    Also at the start of June I've had a messed up relaxer by a barber that said he could he could do it
    My hair is not completely curly again
    Some are still kinda idk weird? Not really curly
    Do I have to cut it off or can I just wait until it gets curly again?

      Hi, I just did a client that has 4b hair on my Instagram @love518salon you should check it out. Also JHS and a relaxer are not compatible, so you’ll have to wait until the relaxer grows out at least 3-6 inches to do a JHS on the new growth hair.
