Isn't "cockblocking" better described as when a woman's friend stops you from engaging with her? It's usually someone associated with the woman who interrupts the courtship. It seems odd to have "cockblocking" denoting the scenario when someone else "steals" a woman's attention, or however you want to describe it.

Well, I'd always heard of it as one of the man's friend's getting in the way. Not saying it couldn't be the woman's friends, but I think the term is usually used by men about their friends. Twatswatting is what women use when their friends do the same to them.
