  • Professor Johannes Zachhuber gave a lecture at St Mark's National Theological Centre on Tuesday August 2, 2016 entitled 'Heresy, inclusion and exclusion: what does the theology of the early church have to teach us today?'
Johannes Zachhuber is Professor at the University of Oxford. He has two main areas of expertise: late ancient Christian theology together with its philosophical background and nineteenth-century Christian thought. He has published works in both areas of research including a book on the fourth century Bishop Gregory of Nyssa, who made a significant contribution to the Doctrine of the Trinity. Gregory of Nyssa was also Zachhuber’s thesis topic for his doctorate of philosophy. Uniting this historical research on the early church and modern thought are his broader interests in theological anthropology, the church, and the relation of theological to philosophical developments.
