I am 46 and never got into Sound Garden back in the day. I've started listening to Chris Cornell about 6 months ago. I can't get enough of him. His voice is absolutely amazing and he was so talented. I just wish I paid more attention back in the day.

I’m 58 and feel the same way. I think the hair bands checked me out and I didn’t get back into music and missed Soundgarden,Pearl Jam etc.. So glad Chris made so much great music. Just can be sad sometimes to listen because of his death.

I'm 49, been a huge fan since 17. It never gets old with me. First song I ever heard was" nothing to say" the song and his vocals blew my mind. I can't wait to hear the last tracks, whenever they get around to releasing them.

It's crazy how most of these bands are really 80s bands. It just took too long for anyone else to notice them lol. So "grunge" isn't really 90s at all.

Chris waved at me on one of the back streets of Nashville in 97 after a show. He looked really wasted, will never get over the loss of such talent. He didn't stop to talk and went on in the bus but talked with Kim and Matt for about 15 minutes, down to Earth guys.

Soundgarden worked, and worked hard, for a long time to get success, as Matt Cameron has eluded to. I don't analyze them, they have that thing, that makes a band special. Truly gifted artists

    Thank you for this upload.
The interview highlights how insightful he was. The video footage is a great tribute! I identify a lot with his lyrics and his band. A couple of relatives unfortunately died through suicide over the years.
Depression (ie clinical depression; not the sad moods we all experience) is a disease of the mind, which destroys our perception that we could be happy (even if a person superficially appears to have everything/success/etc) , and even destroys our self-preservation instinct in that deepest darkest moment of emptiness. So they, unwittingly, chose the worst solution to their intense emotional pain, and we lose a loved one.
    RIP.

I like how he was talking about trying to get into Zeppelin and feeling alienated from the people who actually listen to it. “Sometimes it’s the audience and not the Artists.”
I got that sense from trying to listen to Slayer, Korn, Metallica, and a lot of other like minded artists. I always felt if I went to the concert sporting a Pixies t-shirt or something that these guys would kick my ass. Even though I’m broad in my approach to music. Of course if you’re in the mosh pit chances are that you’re getting your ass kicked anyway so.

@@CME1124 I’ve been listening to so many interviews in the recent weeks and Chris has said so many times in his own words how far along the new soundgarden album is. This interview is a perfect example 7:15 he says they are soundgarden songs in my mind. I’ve heard this in so many interviews so many times over. The fact that Vicky is holding the vocals hostage is selfish and despicable. It’s heart breaking to find out what Chriss life had become over time after he got involved with his 2nd wife. Such a beautiful soul he deserved so much better. So deeply missed. As 💔 as we all are over our loss I truly hope Chris has found the peace he deserves. May your sweet soul RIP
