However, I am seeing ‘sticky’ notes on the app keyboard which continue to play even though I am not playing them on the digital keyboard. This is very annoying. Have you experienced anything like this? If so, do you know of any fix to this issue? Thanks!
Thanks for the quick overview, I also have the FP10 and Pianoteq is amazing, I use Synthfont before, I can say Pianoteq is one notch above. I experience a small lag from FP-10 to Pianoteq, I am using USB cable, do you have any idea how to lower the lag?
Hi, you can reduce lag by making sure to use ASIO if on a PC, and reducing the buffer size. Going too far will probably give you audio dropouts though. All depends on your machine's spec...

little question the FP10 only allows for 1 foot pedal which i think is more than enough looking at the dozens of practice books I have, is it possible to plug a 3 foot pedal set up into my PC and use it through VST instead ?
Hmmm....is it something like an SLP3, but with USB connection? Pianoteq would need to be setup so it merges MIDI note information from FP10 with the pedal MIDI information, and I haven't tried to do that. But if Pianoteq allows multiple MIDI input mapping then it should be possible.
Is it possible to be using speakers and hearing the sound from pianoteq while you're playing? Or can you only hear how it sounds after you've recorded?
Yes, you can monitor Pianoteq directly, usually best done by plugging headphones into the laptop. You just need to tweak the audio settings to get a low latency.
do you have to install an ASIO sound driver in order to remove any delay? The MME and DirectSound both have some delay (0.1 to 0.2 or 0.3 seconds)... so I found the Mac has no delay also because it uses the Core Audio driver. It is also possible that pianoteq already install the ASIO driver for you so you don't have to worry about it
@@DigitalPianoClassical uh huh yes... I noticed the ASIO gave some noise for each note, and then I changed from 44kHz to 48kHz and the noise went away... If using the Mac, then no need to worry about the driver! Just use one of Mainstage, Garageband, or Logic Pro and we can choose the instrument and immediately start playing
When Pianoteq 7.0 came out, Windows Audio (Low Latency Mode) was added. I would use that if your sound card, DAC or USB Audio Interface driver does not have ASIO.
Hi, i also have a fp-10 but when i try to connect via USB to my PC it introduces ground noise to the inears and i just cant enjoy the midi. Do you get noise on the headphones?
Hi. I don't have that issue. It can be tricky to fix ground problems without an electrician, but you you could try grounding the PC case directly to earth to see if that helps?

I connected my Yamaha via a MIDI in/out cable to my Mac and could see the input MIDI device in Pianoteq. The issue is I couldn't find Yamaha N3X as an output device. I have also tried with an USB B to A cable and still had the same problem. Does Pianoteq only work with headphone/external speaker? Can I use Pianoteq with the internal speaker of the piano without any additional devices (i.e. audio interface)?
@@luxuchukjdlsj Hi, N3X...nice piano! The USB probably only transmits MIDI, not audio. Looking at the specs I believe you would need to route the audio out from your Mac back into the Aux IN of the N3X. You may also need to find a way to switch off the N3X's internal sound engine, otherwise you may hear both the N3X sound and Pianoteq sound at the same time.
Hey Chris, do you find when the FP-10 is plugged into headphones it is quiet? I tried different headphones but all seem just a tad too quiet. Thinking about getting a headphone amplifier
Hi. Not at all...I even just tested my Audeze LCD2 'phones (which are supposed to be quite hard to drive) and the volume was fine for me. Does the volume go up and down at least? Have you tested the phones in other equipment? If all the volume lights are on on the FP10 and it's still too quiet I suspect it may be a defect...
Just wondered if you know the impedance of the phones you are using? Reading up there does seem to be some consensus that the headphone output in the FP10 is not very powerful....so more sensitive, lower impedance headphones or an amp may be required if you need loud volumes. The LCD2s are on the quieter side (particularly the bass response) so they won't replace my HD25s as my main headphone for this piano.

Yesterday, I went and purchased a pair of AKG K92 because it had the lowest impedance and highest sensitivity I could find locally. However, they actually did not sound any louder than the random headsets at my house (perhaps a notch quieter). The FP-10 is playable through headphones but I always find myself wanting to turn it up another 10-20%. Especially on the highest octaves for pianos and the lower octaves for the Rhodes. I am now considering an amp for the headphones. Could you suggest one? I am really new at this. Sometimes I play with youtube open for a lesson at the same time. Does there exist a simple amp and mixer for a reasonable price? Thank you so much!!
@@daylightstreet6626 Yes, definitely. The LCDs are monsters though...the biggest headphones I've ever owned by miles!! So they are a pretty extreme challenge for any standard 3.5mm headphone output
That depends on the foot pedal you use. I believe the FP10 accepts continuous midi values (0-127), but the included footpedal (which is what I use) is just an on/off switch.
I made very minor adjustment to the velocity curve so I don't need to hit quite so hard to get to fff, to moderate the "heavy" touch setting on the FP10 itself

Not sure why this would be really. It never happened with my FP10. If it only does this some of the time, or for certain notes, then it may be that the keyboard is sticking and not sending MIDI note-off data? Or, if it happens for all notes then maybe the settings are wrong somehow?

Hi. I don't believe you can overdub or multitrack directly within Pianoteq. It has 256 voice polyphony, so as many as you're ever likely to need.

From a latency perspective It is almost always best to use asio rather than built in PC driver, so yes, I'd recommend installing that. (it's free!)

I've had it 12 months now, and have no clicking noises...
sounds like you need to tune your ASIO buffer size, if it's too low it could cause unstability and clicking glitch noises

Unfortunately not. There is no audio input facility on the FP10.
